Beautiful Friend

Hi bloggers!  I covered a piece of white card with a self adhesive sticky sheet.  Next I used the Peacock feather from the Proud Peacock die set  and cut it about ten times out of white card.  I peeled off the backing paper from the sticky sheet and started laying down the feathers randomly all over the card.  I trimmed them even with the edge of the card.  Next I used the Sparkle Shakers in virtually every colour (left out the silver, bronze and black ones) and sprinkled them over the remaining exposed adhesive and burnished them in to fill in all the area.  I cut a frame from the Double Stitched Rectangles and added a clear acetate window to it then added foam to raise it.  I added the frame over the background.  I cut two sizes of the Pierced Flags and stacked them and added my sentiment to it.  I tucked the end under the frame and added a final peacock Feather as an accent.  The card was completed with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7"  x  8" in size.  All for now. Sue x

  3. A beautiful sentiment on a beautiful piece of inspiration. So many vibrant happy colours behind the peacock background. I'm loving opening the door of this pretty craft blog first thing as it blocks out the news that's so full of terrorism and sadness. Thank you for bringing colour and beauty in to our days xxx

  7. Morning Sue, All I can say is that you must be better than me at "throwing " as my background would be a mess, that's if I'd managed to 'hit' the piece of card in the first place.
I am enjoying the different techniques that you're showing us recently using the peacock background die and the colourful backgrounds. Lovely sentiment too. Hugs xxx Pauline

I absolutely love this card and I really think that YOU loved creating it. I wish I could think of new words but they have all been said so I'll stick with the sentiment which is BEAUTIFUL.

  15. Good Morning Sue. I agree with our other bloggers comments....as the wording says....Beautiful. it really is a a beautiful card. And also there can only be you who can " just throw " sparkle at something and end up with a fabulous result like this. I would love to try it...but alas ....like others I would end up with the most sparkly mess. But at the end of the day....it's a good thing we can all have a laugh at ourselves. Thankyou Sue. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone who needs them today. Kind Regards Ann Toppcards Leeds.

  26. Hi Sue, a beautiful friend has made a beautiful card, love it. There is almost an optical illusion here as on first glance it seems as though the feathers themselves are coloured when in fact it is the background - clever.

  32. The multi layered peacock feathers make a lovely layer especially with the fill in areas done with powders from the Sparkle Shakers. I am sure the photo does not show all of the beauty of your design due to the sparkle shine. Thank you for sharing.
