Season's Greetings

Hello bloggers!  Here is a rather traditional colour combo for Christmas in it's red and white. I started by cutting an aperture in the centre of a piece of coconut white card using the Felicity die.  Next I embossed the background using the Nordic Trees embossing folder.  I added mounting foam to the back and attached a white backing behind.  I cut the Felicity die in white and recessed it into the aperture opening. Using the two outer dies from the Felicity set, I cut a thin red frame and glued it around the aperture opening.   I cut the centre square from the die out of white and backed it with red and attached it in a diamond orientation in the centre. Using the Season's Greeting  Shadowed die, I cut it in black and added it onto a white shadow, then glued it in place in the centre of the card.  I used the top layer of the Triple Layered Poinsettia cut out of vellum and created three poinsettias.  I glued them in opposite corners and added the Twin Holly Sprays in white as accents.  The card was completed with white, red and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 71/4" x  7 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  3. Hi Sue. It's getting closer and closer and I'm so pleased to read I'm not the only 'last minute'maker lol. Yesterday's inspiration was loved by all and it really was gorgeous as is today's, in my phone it looks like milk and red but still really beautiful, I must remember to use the pretty vellum I have for my floral elements too. Thank you for a gorgeous sample to start a new week. Take care and enjoy your day xxx

    Good Morning Sue.
A lovely card with lovely traditional colours.
I wonder what goodies you have in store for us when the Christmas season is over. It's hard to believe that the big day is only 9 days away.
    Have a good day.

  23. I like the overall design and the colour choice. I would probably either skip the vellum flowers or make smaller ones as I feel they overwhelm what is a lovely main design.

  25. Really lovely card, which comes up on my screen as cream, as with many others. However, this does not detract from its beauty.

  27. Hi Sue, just back from posting my last Christmas card so now it's a case of tidying my spare craft bedroom. It won't take very long as I just close the door till next year.
I do like your vellum poinsettias and really should try using vellum for my flowers too, instead of card. I just worry about them getting squashed in the post. Hugs xx Pauline

  28. Hi Sue, apologies for my absence but I banned myself from all things technological until I had wrapped and packed up all my presents for posting this morning. I am far behind this year and still have to finish a few cards but hopefully I will get them done in time. I love today's gorgeous offering, it is beautiful. Saturday's owl is eye-catching and brilliant. I love yesterday's card so much that it was the first one I made when I received the die and STDF and then it was followed by another half a dozen each slightly different with just a change of colouring and frame.

  30. Beautiful, gorgeous card today. I love the embossing folder you used. Being in the states it seems that I miss out on the embossing folders until I see them used here. Well, I also see cream rather than white but it looks wonderful and I do like the velum poinsettias which I never think of and why not?
Everyone have a good week start. I need to go to the post office...should be a blast.
