Christmas Wishes

Hi bloggers!  It;s a clean and simple card today, but I just love the way the background came out!  I started with a piece of white card and used Distress Oxide inks on it.  Using Blueprint Sketch, Salty Ocean and Black Soot, I blended the two Blues into the card and put a couple of layers so the colour was quite intense.  I used the Black Soot around the edges to give it a sort of frame to draw your eye inward.   Next, I used both a silver paint pen and a white paint pen and splattered them generously across the card.  The two colours of paint pens gave it more depth, like looking a stars in the sky.  Next I cut the Star of Wonder top layer in white, the middle layer in black and the backing in Antique Silver card.  I assembled it and attached it in the upper right corner with foam.  I cut the Christmas Wishes sentiment in white and glued it in the lower corner.  I added random dots of Glossy Accents around the card.  The card was then completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  2. Morning Sue. It's different but I really like it, when you show us these various inked and other techniques you do for background work I'd love to be able to see them in the flesh so to speak as we all know photos don't always do our projects justice, as crafters we have a vague idea how they look, but for real - I bet it has the wow factor. Hope your day is as bright and lovely as today's inspiration xxx

  33. Great background creation. Yes, it does look like looking up at the stars with the blend of colors and the spattering of the two paint pens. I can't get my paint pen to spatter.
