Hope Your Birthday Is A Hoot

Hello crafters!  I had a favourite owl card that I wanted to share that wasn't on the blog launch this past week.  I love this clean and simple style for the owls.  It is such a fun card too.  I used a piece of my pixie powdered background stash.  On white card I used Aqua Lagoon, Scarlet Mist and Teal Wash pixies.  Next I cut the owl from the Wise Old Owl set three times into a piece of coconut white card.  I added the pixie powdered background behind it and then added foam to raise it.  I put it onto another piece of white card.  I cut the sentiment our of the left over piece of pixied card and glued it below the owls.  I completed the card with white mats and layers.   The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 3/4" in size.  All for now.     Oh Sue what a brilliant sample its making me smile. Unless I'd seen this I'd never had given it a thought to cut it into card, I'd have just used it as a main focal element placing it on top, that's where my box is firmly taped down and I don't have the talent to think outside of it, so clever with such a pretty background peeping through. I love this Sue, wish I could get into your way of thinking. Wherever you are whatever your plans have a fun day xxx

    What a fantastic card this morning , love how you have cut into the card and the colours from the pixie powders are popping through . The way you have added a mounted the owls than a whole square gives a different feel to the card.

    What a fun card today with three lovely and wise owls with their feathers of many colors. Cutting the owls into a piece of card and then adding that to a larger piece of card is really a nice effect giving a totally unique look to the card.
