Hello crafters! Today's card uses one of the same techniques that I demonstrated on Hochanda this past weekend. I started with a piece of Arctic Blue card on top and a piece of Bluebell card underneath it, lined up exactly. I used the middle layering die of the Lilian die set and randomly cut it all over the card so it went through both sheets. Next I went back and lined up the top layering die from the set directly over the cut outs on the top Arctic Blue card and cut them again. I then glued the two pieces together as they lined up nicely from being cut this way. I made a wide white frame using the Double Stitched Squares and attached it with mounting foam. I cut a strip of vellum and attached it across the middle of the frame from side to side. I used the Just For You die and shadowed it then glued it onto the vellum strip. Using the Wildflower layering dies, I cut five flowers of assorted sizes, using the Bluebell as the top layer and the Arctic Blue as the middle layer. I assembled them and added white base layers to all of them, then mounted them in opposite corners. I cut a bunch of the leaves in white as accents and glued them around the flowers. The card was completed with white, Arctic Blue and Bluebell mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x 7 3/4" in size. All for now, Sue x
Morning Sue and all that enter this wonderful world of pretty inspiration. Is this one that you tempted us with at launch? I was catching up with your Sunday shows yesterday and was wowed with your triple layer collection, such a clever idea and I've never seen anything similar. Today's samples is really pretty, it looks complicated too, but watching your demonstrations makes it all make sense (if I make sense) ! Such a delicate soothing start to our day thank you xxx
ReplyDeleteOh I love this card. So pretty and the colours really show off the dies used.

Good morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card using a very clever set of dies. The versatility of the Triple Layer dies seems endless and, although I have to take my time working out which die is needed for each layer, the results are well worth it. Thank you for the wonderful inspiration.x
Hello Sue and all
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card, love the colours but unfortunately, I have tried to watch you on the Hochanda catch up and only the first show with the mermaids is on there.
they too are gorgeous but I was really hoping to see the triples demonstrated, wonder why your other shows aren’t available?
Will watch you tube to see your lovely dies in use.

These triple layer dies are pure genius and it was amazing being able to watch you working your magic with them on Saturday and Sunday. This card blew me away during the launch - those colours are beautiful. I must treat myself to some of the new card despite the fact that I have enough card stock to open my own shop!
Happy Wednesday everyone
