Hello there my crafty friends! This is definitely one of those cards that I wish you could see in person as it is just so sparkly and pretty! What I love about it too is that it is such a quick make! I started by cutting the
Sailboat Stained Glass in
coconut white card. I covered a piece of
black card with a
sticky adhesive sheet, peeled the backing off and attached the sailboat die to it. I used black card because the glitter is dark, and I wouldn't want any areas to show through which they might have if I had used white card. Next I used
Midnight Marine, Teal Haze and Rainbow Black Holographic glitter across it. I used my finger to burnish the glitter into the sticky sheet, then tapped off the excess. The three different sized particles in the glitter all grab the sticky sheet differently to create a really pretty pattern across the background. I cut a white frame using the
Double Stitched Rectangles and added it with foam. White and black mats were used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 5 3/4" x 7" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteMorning Sue, todays card is astounding, it looks so different with the glittered background behind the white die cut. One of my favourite dies for Mens cards. Have a good day everyone. Bx
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue and all Wilsonettes, this definitely gets my vote, you know how much I love the stained glass dies and lots of bling, stunning.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
Hi Sue. Oh my word that sky maybe the most sparkly sky I've ever seen but if I was skipper lets just say I'd be rather worried about the looming storm.
ReplyDeleteI can see by your photos the sparkle coming through but like you've said, in true life I bet it's amazing stunning even. I don't own any of the Stained Glass dies, but I've always loved and admired the samples I've seen on the blog and on Facebook but I honestly think I couldn't do it justice, I know how many wonderful backgrounds can be made to show the beauty of the designs but I'm no CE design member which means my background efforts apart from Pixie Powders leave a lot to be desired ! So I'll leave it to the 'pro's' and love from afar. Enjoy your day whatever you have planned xxx
Morning Sue, I just Love your stained glass dies and used this one for last year's birthday cards for the men in our family. They loved them, but how much time could I have saved myself if I had done a fabulous background like this one, instead of paper piecing.
ReplyDeleteI love glitz and glitter. This is fabulous. Hugs xx Pauline

Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteA lovely easy and fun card to make but what an impact you have created with using Glitterbitz for your background. So mystical and magical. As you said, to really appreciate the full effect of the card, it is one that has to be seen. Since that's not possible, we will just have to use our imagination.
Have a wonderful day.
