Christmas Double Day

Hello there my crafty friends!  We are really getting close now to the big day!  This is gong to be the last official double day before Christmas I think!  For the first card, I embossed a piece of milk card with the Opulent Frame 3D embossing folder.  For the focal element, I cut the Natalie die in white.  I popped the Faith die cut out in white on top of it.  I cut the Christmas Bell in antique gold card twice.  I backed both of them with vellum and attached them together in the centre.  I cut the bow out of gold and added some twigs as accents.  The card was completed with white and gold mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  9" in size.  Scroll down for the second card.

I selected a completely different looking card for the second offering.  I started with a Royal Blue card background and cut the Snowfall Background die into the card.  I backed it with a piece of silver mirror card.  I cut four of the corners from the set out of silver card and glued them in place on the background.  I cut the Overlay and Ornament die in white three times, stacked them and glued them into the middle of the card.  I cut the ornament from the set out of silver mirror card and glued it to the inside of the Overlay.  I added a few pearls as accents, then completed the card with Royal Blue, Silver mirror card and white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  15. Hello Sue,

It seems hard to believe that we have come to our last "double day Friday." Where has the year gone. Both cards are stunning but my favorite today is the Christmas Bells. I like that you have used vellum to back the bells. I have to admit that despite seeing this card several times, I did not realize until I read your description today that you had used vellum. It's sometimes difficult to pick up all the details from a photograph with no description and I love getting all the little details.

    Have a wonderful day.

The colours on the second card is stunning , the royal blue and silver work beautifully together. Thank you for sharing your creations.

Good morning Sue. The last double day Friday is going out with bells and whistles. Two fantastic cards and my choice is the second one because I have the die which I have used a lot this year. The first one is also gorgeous but just a tad too large with postage in mind. I mailed 15 cards to Canada a few days ago and the cost almost floored me. £44.40. Next year I will be pleading for smaller cards.
    Happy weekend to everyone.

  29. Two really gorgeous cards. I wish my opulent 3D embossing folder came out as crisp as yours. I always get one corner which doesn’t emboss the detail. Such a shame.

  55. Hi Sue,

The best of the two cards for me is the gold bells. I do like the blue as well, though my preference is the bells.

I note that the bells have hearts, so a die I would buy as it would be versatile. Could you it for Weddings & anniversary cards.

Thank you for all your inspiration you give us all.

    Love n hugs
