Hi bloggers! I thought I would share one of the Celtic sample cards that I made. I started with a piece of Petrol Blue card as my background. I cut three of the Keira die in white and two in black. I nipped each of the in half and glued the pointy ends towards the edge of the card, alternating the colours. Next I cut a wide strip of Petrol Blue card and gave it a thin black mat on the sides and added a white strip down the centre. then added mounting foam to the back. I seated it in the centre of the card, covering the cut sides of the Keira dies. I used the Erin die and cut it twice in black and once out of Petrol Blue card. I cut one of the black die cuts in half and glued the cut sides to the top and bottom of the strip. I used the blue one in the centre with the remaining black die cut as a offset shadow for it. I used the Double Stitched Squares and cut a small white frame and added mounting foam to the back. I seated it in a diamond orientation with a strip of vellum between it and the Erin die. I cut forked ends into the vellum and cut the For You sentiment in black and glued it across the vellum strip. White, petrol blue and black mats and layers completed the card. The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" in size. All for now. Sue x

Hello Sue, a very intricate and unusual design which shows just how well the dies work together. Have a good day everyone. Bx
ReplyDeleteMorning Sue.
ReplyDeleteA brilliant card, thank you.
Take care and have fun Kitty.
Hi Sue. You certainly throw some curve balls with your designs, dare I say I'm not a lover of this design but what a genius way to show the versatility of your new Celtic collection. It could look very complicated to a new crafter when in fact it's just the shapes within the design of the die if you get my drift. Today's sample would be a perfect make for a man's card, masculine, clean lines, and bold strong colours.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all your idea's and have a lovely day xxx
This card with these colours could be a great card for a man. With a change of colour great for a girl. So versatile.
ReplyDeleteLovely card Sue xx Hazel

ReplyDeleteQuite unusual card today, but it is lovely....luv Ursula xx
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely I particularly like the way you have set the sentiment onto vellum I am going to try this with some of your older dies like the marvellous square I think that’s what they’re called or is it majestic squares!
ReplyDeleteYes certainly a good male card. Very effective, ideal colour as well. Will have to have a play, but don’t have any Celtic Dies. Thank you Sue
ReplyDeleteI love the way you have used the dies to make a very detailed card. It’s not really to my taste but nevertheless a great design. X
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. I would normally associate Celtic designs with more feminine cards but with this one, probably because of the colours you have chosen, I can see it would work very well for more masculine cards too.
