Christmas Double Day

Hello crafters!  Another double day is upon us, but only a few left to go!  I thought I would start with this bright Pixie Powdered card.  I used Rich Gold, Lava Red and Scarlet Mist to create this pixied background card.  I cut two of the Frosty Snowflake Borders in white and glued them to the side edges of the card.  For the focal element, I cut two of the Frosty Snowflake corners in white and glued the to the upper and lower edges between the borders.  I cut the Natalie die for my focal element in white and added it with foam to the centre of the card.  I used the other shaped cut dies to create a thin lip for the edge of the die.  I cut the Let It Snow die in white and added a black shadow then seated it in the centre.  White on white mats and layers completed the card, it's a real quick one to make!  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

Card number two is also a very quick card, but completely different looking!  I started with a piece of white card and embossed it with the 3D Opulent Frame folder for texture.  Next I cut the centre die from the Star Wreath in antique Gold card twice and stacked them together, then glued them into the centre of the embossed design.  From the Christmas Robin die set, I cut several of the pine sprigs out of tan card and used Forest Moss ink on the tips.  I glued them around the base of the wreath and added a few pine cones.  I cut both of the Robins in tan card and added some Festive Berries ink to their chest and glued them onto the branches.  I added the From me to you sentiment in gold with a tan shadow mat and glued it above the wreath.  White and Antique Gold mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  5. Hi Sue. I love double day any time of the week but the festive samples make the time of year feel real and I'm nowhere near ready, in my mind it's still only June so I need lots of help lol thank goodness your here to give me a push, so I don't have what it takes to make the first gorgeous sample, the background is lush, I do have two out of three powders though which are beautiful, and it shows the dies beautifully. I've just treated myself to your dear little robin dies and the detail you've put into them is amazing Sue, so I look forward so much to using them. Thanks for sharing these two gorgeous festive beauties, it's a day I really look forward to. Hope your day is a good one xxx

  6. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, I love double days and these 2 samples are so beautiful, what a way to start a Friday. I think No 2 just edges it for me as I like the little robins and the sprigs and things, but No 1 is right behind.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Yay its double Friday and WOW two stunning cards this morning, its always to difficult to pick which card I like the best. I do love the colours you have created on the first card . The dies cuts stand out so well to give a beautiful card.
The second is equally beautiful , the robins are just so cute and coloured wonderfully. The embossed background works so well to finish the card.

    Good afternoon Sue and all.
This is the last day of my Daughters holiday and she and her spouse have gone out visiting. Tomorrow morning they leave for Wisconsin and I will miss them so much.
Your Friday double day cards are both wonderful and like many others I couldn't possibly choose a favourite.
Thank you so much for the inspiration you give to all of us.
    Love to all.

  43. Your red and white winter card is exciting and bright. Loving those pixie powder backgrounds you do. I'm unsure of my liking the "Let it Snow" greeting today. We are expecting 1 -2 feet of that frozen white stuff. The Natalie die on this card looks like a lit neon sign warning me of the predicted snow to come. Oh well, I do live in the mountains. I love this gorgeous 3D Opulent Frame embossing folder. Only wished it was a tad smaller for my 5 x 7 cards. I like how you designed your Christmas Robins with a deboss.

  56. Hi Sue, I can't believe that I missed leaving a comment yesterday as Friday Christmas Double Days are my favourite day of the week. Both of these cards are gorgeous and I will take inspiration from them both (still a few cards to make before I am finished) and just like Pauline I am hoping some Pixies will be delivered by Santa :-). Off now to watch today's video and I won't forget to leave a comment this time, promise.

  57. Two stunning cards and for once I really cannot choose between them. I love the Robins, a must have when making Christmas cards and have lots of Robin stamps but alas no dies YET! The red card is just so pretty and special looking the background colour really making it pop. I also love the embossing folder on your second card, something I haven't spotted before but it just another must have after Christmas. Unless of course Santa brings it - I can always hope. xx
