You Are Sew Sweet

Hi crafters!  I just love this sewing frame and I know that any of your friends that sew would love it too!  I have basically paper pieced this one, but it was done by cutting into the frame rather than using fall away pieces.  I cut the Sew Sweet Frame and started with a white frame as a base.  I cut the frame several more times out of various colours of card and decorative papers.  I used milk card for the tape measure and spools.  I wrapped the spools with Bakers Twine in pink and blue.  I cut the dressmakers mannequin and pin cushion out of papyrus card.  I used decorative papers from my Classic Elegance Paper pad for the cloth swatches and fabric around the mannequin.  I used silver card and a silver paint pen for the thimble, pin, sewing needle and scissors and Iris card for the buttons and sentiment.  I glued all the pieces that I cut away from the various frames on top of my base.  Once they were all in place, I cut a black frame and added it as a shadow, then added mounting foam to the back.  I embossed a piece of coconut white card with the Dot Matrix Pinpoint folder and added the frame to it, gluing the sentiment in the centre with a black shadow added.  The card was completed with white and Iris card mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6" x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  3. Morning from a wet and windy Lancashire. I've always wished I was good with a needle and cotton, but my needlework skills are worse than my paperwork skills lol. This is the absolute perfect collection for anyone that loves dress making etc I love the way you design your dies to fit around people's loves, hobbies and work, there is nothing nicer to make a card that fits someone's hobby or work which is why this collection will be as popular as your garden theme and DIY etc you really know the needs of those that you inspire and I'm looking forward to seeing what Lisa does with them too. Sending hugs from me to you xxx

The frame dies are great and so easy to decoupage up or snip about so make them very versatile. Love them and the post

  38. Hi Sue, a very clever card and I love the way you have made it seem almost 3D using the different types of paper and card. Bakers twine on the spools for thread is inspired. I don't do nearly as much sewing now as I used to but I would still love to receive a card like this.

  48. Such a busy time of year and I'm playing catch-up again. I haven't seen this die before Sue - oh why, oh why. As I stitch and have lots of friends who either like me do cross stitch, or many who do sewing and make quilts and clothes then this is really a must have to me. I just love it.
