Beautiful Day

Hi there my crafty friends! I thought that one Hydrangea looked so pretty that three much be truly splendid! LOL  I have always been in love with hydrangeas so the more the merrier in my book!  I started by embossing white card with the Graded Diamonds embossing folder.  I cut a larger piece of Blue Dusk card and used the decorative strip die from the Treat Yourself Cupcake set to add a stitched feature to the edge.  I added the embossed piece to the other side.  From the Beautiful Hydrangea set,  I cut three hydrangeas out of green card and three hydrangeas out of pink card.  I cut the bloom portion off of the pink ones and glued it to the green ones.  I used a little bit of Salty Ocean to add some blue to parts of them and then popped up the little bloom areas in all of them.  I added them to the card with foam, overlapping all three.  I cut the sentiment out of blue card and added it onto a small stitched rectangle die cut at the side of the flowers.  White mats were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  8. Hi Sue
    Beautiful!
I saw a few of your cards using this die ‘in the flesh’ at Ally Pally on Sunday and these pictures (gorgeous as they are), do not portray how intricate and stunning these hydrangeas are. We have loads of hydrangeas in our garden and when they are all in full bloom they really are magnificent - as is this card.
Only 1 more sleep and HOCHANDA willl be alive with the buzz of the Creative Expressions team. Can’t wait.
    Happy Thursday everyone

  12. Morning Sue. Beautiful. I get sooo many emails from the gardening websites I love to look at and there are so many more colours and shapes of hydrangea along with size and shape of the petals, their popularity seemed to die down for years but that's all changed and they must be on the list of most popular these days, and your samples made with this die are equally beautiful, there is no right or wrong as far as colour choice is concerned and yet again it's one of 70 on my need list that I long to own !
Thank you for today's gorgeous start to our day and hope you have a beautiful day xxx

Such a beautiful card this morning , the Hydrangeas are are so stunning with the effect of the petals lifted. The ink has worked so well on the Hydrangea and they sit so well on the embossed back ground.

  18. Morning Sue, what a lovely card to start our day. I'm with you. Hydrangeas are a must in a garden. The embossing folder looks prety too and I bet with gilding wax rubbed over it, that would really make it pop. Hugs xx Pauline

    Good Thursday morning Sue.
A beautiful card Sue and reminds me of my Mother taking out the tea leaves (before tea bags were invented) to feed her precious Hydrangeas. I have bought 3 plants this year but they are still in the nurturing stages so don't expect much for a couple of years and by then I'll be 90 lol.
You really have produced a fantastic card Sue just as you always do.
    Have a great day.
    Hugs.
    Marie P.
