Silent Night

 Hello bloggers!  I have an almost white Christmas card for today's offering.  I started by cutting the Lattice Poinsettia Background into a piece of coconut white card.  Next I moved it up and cut it again, slightly overlapping the first one to make a larger background.  There is a small area of overcut but it is difficult to see unless it is pointed out and I glued the Swirled Silent Night sentiment over it so it was less noticeable.  I put the background onto another piece of white card with a sticky adhesive sheet attached. I used Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz to fill in the exposed adhesive and give it a little bit of bling.  I added pearls to the flower centres.  Next I made a frame using the Double Stitched Rectangle sets and added it with foam over the background.  White and Antique Gold mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

    After the Industrial Chic Christmas we just had, these old-fashioned Christmas designs seem to hark from so long ago, but it was only June when they came out, wasn't it?

    I can't see the overcutting either, and that Silent Night is too slender to do much covering, although maybe it distracts with its swirls rather than actually obscuring. That's an interesting concept. Would swirls hide my belly fat?

    I love this creation. It's beautiful and so elegant. The white on white gives your card a certain peaceful look and the touch of gold just puts that extra class to it.
    I confess, I did look for the join when you told us about it, but to no avail. You have hidden it very well.

    Hi Sue,
    Beautiful, real xmassy.
    My mum always had Christmas roses in her allotment (some form of Hellebores, just very low growing and pretty unassuming) that always came in bloom for Xmas time and a little sprig decorated the table, that's why I'll always think of them when I think Xmas.
    And "silent night" is THE favourite hymn.

    Background but will try something similar with the Poinsettia Checkerboard Striplet as I do have the Swirly Silent Night which cuts like a dream.

    Beautiful. You did a great job on the join. I can not see the join even in the close-up photos. Being able to extend the layer by moving and cutting again with the die certainly makes the die more versatile. We crafters aways appreciate having dies that can do more than one thing or shape.
