Sailboat

Good Sunday morning all!  It's a really quick, easy card for today's offering.  I started with the background (which I already had in my background pile) but it is Pixies Powders.  I used Midnight Blue and Aqua Lagoon, fairly heavily to cover the entire piece.  I cut the Sailboat Stained Glass and glued it on top of the dry background.  Next I used the fall away pieces from the boat and paper pieced them back into the boat to make it more focal.  I just put a bit of Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue on the back of each of the pieces then pieced them in.  I had left a wide border around the sailboat when I initially cut it so I just made a thin border to add to it using the Double Stitched Rectangle die set.  I mounted it with foam for a bit of dimension to it. White on white layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 5 3/4" x  7" in size.  all for now, Sue x

  1. Morning Sue, I don't know if there is much more I can say about today's sample other than I really love these stained glass collections and the background on this is just amazing. Lot's to do as it's market day. Hoping lots of people feel like a walk in a beautiful country park to walk off their big fried Sunday breakfast - it would also help if they needed a card or two as I need a whole bunch of your dies to help me make cards for them !! Lol. Keep your fingers crossed for me Sue 😕
Sending Sunday hugs and hope you have a good day xxx

  2. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a beautiful creation, am loving the colours you have used to create such a beautiful background, and of course the sailing boat stain glass is so effective against this background, beautiful.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  3. Good Morning Sue

This is a lovely card and probably the best that I have seen with this die and as is often the case it is the background that has made it so. You have captured a stormy sky beautifully with this background setting the ship off perfectly. Very atmospheric indeed.

Have a great Sunday whatever you are doing.

  35. The way Pixie Powders determine their own way reminds me of the saying that art is a collaboration between God and the artist. The less the artist does, the better. But somehow your talent gets God to smile upon you with good Pixie outcomes. My Pixies always seem to be involved in a contract dispute, so they’re not going to tap out of the container, and they’re not going to do anything creative when the spritz
    comes along.

Such a dramatic sky! It tells a different story than the die by itself tells.

    Best,
    Donita

  44. Great card. The background, is it just pixies on card with water or have you used acetate/tissue or glue? Only asking because the colour vibrancy and sheen is very intenseand more than I seem to be getting! Maybe I'm just too stingy with them!

  49. Hi Sue,
Oh WOW, this is a fabulous background. I'm with "Cards Books and Babies", with my query , is it just Pixies or have you added Acetate/tissue or glue? It looks very dramatic, A STUNNER of a background. And that boat in white adds to the drama.
