Hi crafters! I'm pulling out the Flora die again today for this card. I started by cutting Flora in the middle of a piece of coconut white card. I wanted both the die cut and the negative space left by it. I added some mounting foam on the back of the aperture to raise it, then seated it over a piece of raspberry card. I recessed the Flora cut out back into the aperture. I cut an additional Flora die in white, then cut it in half and added the pieces to the edges of the aperture card. I added small white pearls to the flower centres, then matted the card with a thin black mat. I cut a couple of small mats for my sentiment using the Double Stitched Octagon shapes, then seated a shadowed Miss you Mini Expression on top. White on white mats and layers were used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 6 11/4" x 8 1/4" in size. All for now, Sue x

Hello Sue, flora a pretty name and a pretty die. Like the recessed look and the pearls are a finishing touch.x

Pretty, pretty Flora, all done up in pearls. I would have thought that sinking the die cut back into the aperture would just plug it up, but no, the tiniest bit of raspberry shows through in flower shapes.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
Happy weekend, Sue and all the Wilsonettes.
Best,
Donita

A lovely card design. Too bad the photo does not show the depth you have created with the layers. As I was reading through your directions for this card design, I realized that I now understand what you did without having to dissect your steps - one sentence at a time, saying to myself " now what did she do?". Finally, I think I have it. All of your videos and blog samples, that I have watched and seen, not only have inspired me, but have taught me how to construct an amazing card design with awesome techniques. Thank you Sue for teaching me your art. I get great pleasure from card making and sharing my creations. And my friend Judy enjoys receiving my "Sue" cards from time to time.
