Card Giveaway!

Hello crafters!  I thought it was about time that I did a card giveaway,  Since this one is so much prettier in real life than my photography skills show, I thought it would be the perfect card to use for it!  I started by cutting a decorative edge into the sides of a piece of coconut white card using the border from the Treat Yourself Cupcake set.  Next, I made a large piece of Pixie Powder background using the Midnight Blue, Peacock Green and Violet Purple powders.  From that piece, I cut two strips to go behind my borders, an oval and a piece to fit behind the oval cut out area.  In the middle of the two borders, I used the decorative die from the Nina die to cut into the card.  I cut a wide oval frame from white card using the Double Pierced Noble Ovals and added mounting foam to the back.  I placed that over the Nina die cut area.  I used the thinner frame cut from the Pixie powder background on top of it.  I cut a circular frame out of the Double Pierced Noble Circles and framed my stamp-ed sentiment and seated it over the Nina die cut. For a floral element, I used the Starlight Daisy shape dies and made 3D flowers.  I glittered them with Iced Snow and seated them on a white satin bow and accented them with white Curly Fern die cuts.  I added a strip of white pearls to either side of the borders to finish it off.  White on white mats were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8" in size.  Leave a comment on this post to be entered into the drawing to win it.  I will announce the winner on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Apologies for my lack of comment yesterday and for intermittent commenting over the next week. Things are a little manic at the moment. It is my 50th birthday on Saturday and I am being treated and surprised left right and centre. Not complaining - I am so lucky. My mum and dad are coming down to stay today from Newcastle and my sister is coming down from Birmingham on Friday to stay and then huge big party on Saturday. So as I said comments could be hit and miss for a few days as being spoilt is taking up rather a lot of time -SORRY x

  39. If that photo doesn't do it justice, then this card must stop hearts in real life. I think you have captured quite a bit of justice with your photos.

You've made an elegant and exciting setting for Nina, one of my favorite dies. Thank you for naming the Pixie colors you used. Using just the outside die of the Starlight Daisies, and curling them like roses, would not have occurred to me because the swirls always mesmerize me into forgetting about the generous petals. And at first I thought icing the petals might be like gilding the lily, but instead it giives the flower one of the qualities that flowers have in nature -- the closer you look, the more beautiful it gets.

Speaking of generous, it's lovely of you to do a giveaway after stopping out of consideration for your colleagues.

We're grateful. A giveaway really does send a little excitement into the week.

    Thank you, Sue.

    Best,
    Donita
