Always And Forever

Hi bloggers!  Today's card was a bit of fun for me.  It was a first for me for a few things too.  It was the very first time I used the new Sublime Swirls 3D embossing folder.  I embossed it out of Slate Grey card, then used Silver Dreams Gilding Polish across the top of it.  It was also a first for the flowers.  These flowers are made from Lightweight air dry clay!  The larger one was made by Katherine Sturrock while we were at the trade show in Feb.  She showed me how to do it, then I made the smaller rose using a bit more of the same colour clay!  Aren't they lovely!  I loved the pale peach colour with the slate grey card too!  I seated the flowers with some Oak Swags cut in white and I cut a Family Tree die and then used the tree cut into pieces as accents too.  Next I cut the sentiment out of peach card and glued it into place in the opposite corner from the flowers.  White peach and slate grey mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  4. Morning Sue, what a fabulous card, love the colour combo, not one you think would work well together but it does. Love the flowers especially in the soft peachy colour, I so want to have a go with the air dry clay and the flower dies, it will just have to wait a while. Kathryn is really creative. Have a great day everyone. Bx

  5. Hello Sue and all
Really lovely card, I agree that they are not colours that you would naturally put together but they work so well and the flowers are gorgeous. I will have to look for Kathryn on Hochanda replay but think that some of your flowers would look fabulous too.

What a stunning card - I love the slate grey with peach, it's one of my favourite colour pairings (and it works beautifully with lemon or pink too)and the deep embossing provides the perfect backdrop to those gorgeous roses and frou-frou trails of foliage - all-in-all a top notch card!

I must check my air dry clay, it's been ages since I played with it, hope it hasn't dried out...

Good morning Sue and Happy 4th. July.
A beautiful card Sue and as others have said before me , the flowers are gorgeous. I almost bought the clay and a mold the other day when they were shown on Hochanda but my PC went off as I had my finger on the button.
I had a packet of air dry clay but it has been around so long it was as hard as a brick.
I really shouldn't start yet another hobby as my craft room is getting too full to move.
I do hope you will do a video for us sometime for the roses.

  55. Hi Sue, happy 4th July to you and all our American friends. Just beautiful is all I want to say about this card, I love it. The colours are ones I use quite a lot and just like Izzy I find that lemon & pink go well also. I would love to try the clay flowers but as I have to post most of my cards I would hate to think of my hard work getting squashed by the sorting machines and I don't think I dare to introduce another craft or we would have to move house!
Hope everyone has a lovely day.
