Thankful For You

Hi bloggers!  I have a lovely white on white channel card to share with you today.  I started with a piece of coconut white card and embossed it with the Heart Scrolls embossing folder.  I cut it so there was just about and 1 1/2" strip and added mounting foam to both pieces to raise them.  I added the two pieces to another piece of white card that had a strip of self adhesive sticky sheet laid down between the two areas.  I cut the Meandering Twig border in white and peeled away the backing on the sticky strip and attached the border.  I used Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz to fill in the exposed adhesive areas.  For the focal element, I cut the Flora die and attached it to the top of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with a Double Stitched Octagon die.  I very lightly inked the edges of the sentiment with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide.  I used the small centre dies from the Passion Flower set to add two very small flowers to the tag.  The card was completed with white on white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6" x  8" in size.
All for now, Sue x

  19. I guess Meandering Twig is the male version of Flora. Well Yin to her Yang. You didn't talk about it but it must have been a project to add all those pearls to the flowers. They're just exquisite.

To answer Owlish, yes, Sue has stopped the drawings to give away samples. She said it was a hardship to her colleagues who need samples to show when they go on TV or do classes. And when Sue is out of the country, it falls to others to address the envelopes and put cards in the post. She still does drawings for little surprise presents when comments exceed 100.

Update on my experiment, it didn't work. Can't see any little flowers. Maybe if I had used crystal tints instead of Oxides. Now I'm thinking of making little marker dots to represent distant masses of flowers. Or relying on the always appropriate white on white with just a hint of color, like the insides of Passion Flowers.

May the beginning of your weekend open up possibilities for you to do something you enjoy.

    Best to all,
    Donita

I love Flora and she is so versatile...... as if needed..... you can break her apart...... she doesn't mind...... and use her to fill in little gaps that need attention..... so yes I love her very much. This is a beautiful sample Sue. And will be among my favourites to recreate when needed. Sending best wishes to everyone. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds

  51. Hello Sue
I love white on white but this is perhaps too busy for me.
Donita I wish I had the nerve to experiment I love reading about your ideas

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hi Sue, a lovely card but a trifle busy for me. The Heart Scrolls embossing folder is gorgeous but personally I think it takes away from Flora and I would use a softer design. I do love the Meandering Twigs in the channel though and the sparkle makes it so pretty.

Donita - shame that your experiment didn't work but at least you are brave enough to try. Hope the next one is more successful for you.

Stunning card. There is so much to take in here. As someone else said, I thought you had more than one layer of the lovely Flora die. Love all those tiny pearls on the flowers. I've used the Passion Flower dies in all sorts of ways yet I've never used the small centre dies as flowers in their own right.
    Take care everyone.

Good morning Sue and all Wilsonettes.
A beautiful card Sue I've tried white on white a while ago but my low vision became a real problem when I couldn't see where one element began and another ended but I can see how much patience goes into making a card like this. It really is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
    Hugs to all.
