Happy Birthday

Hi crafters!  I have a birthday card to share with you in honour of Julia Watt's birthday today.  While this isn't her birthday card, it was a good enough reason to post it!  This one is a really quick make (perfect for when you have just realised that you have forgotten a birthday!! I started by embossing the background using the Shimmering Stars embossing folder for a nice texture.  Next I created a piece of Pixie Powdered background using Burnt Orange, Straw Yellow and Lava Red.  I let it dry then cut the background shape for the frame from it.  I cut the Birthday Frame twice, once out of white card and once out of black card,  I used the black as a shadow behind the white one, then added it with mounting foam to the background cut out.  I attached it to the background with foam to raise it for dimension too.   The word "Happy" is already debossed into the flags so you only need to cut the "Birthday" sentiment which is part of the set.  I shadowed it and added it to the centre of the frame.   I added a single black mat then white on white mats completed the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  7 1/2" in size.  Don't forget to pop by Julia's Blog (Inky Fingers) to wish her a very Happy Birthday!  All for now, Sue x

    Fabulous card! The frames are so good to have on hand when a last minute card is needed, pixie powder backgrounds pre made and cards are made in next to no time. My favourite dies at the moment. Love the stars background too

    Happy Birthday Julia. No shop bought cards from the CE team today (has Phill remembered) ?!! Lol.
    I've had this frame cut and sitting on my craft table since the end of March ! Where has my love and enthusiasm gone ?
    Anyone that has this celebration frame will tell you that it looks beautiful on today's sample but in real life it really stands out as do the other frames in this collection, definitely a die to own if you've not invested yet.

    Surely, I must have this die somewhere! How could I not have reasoned that I could use it at least once for everyone I know.

    Thanks for the tip about where to wish Julia a happy birthday. How many cards do you think she'll get using the Julia die? It's one of my favorites.

    Happy Julia's birthday, everybody! It looks like there's plenty of cake and ice cream, from the Treat Yourself special on Hochanda. That's a good one to remember: Treat Yourself Special.

    Hi Sue. Sorry I have not commented for a while. Today's card is beautiful !!! I love your Birthday frame die set. I think it is perfect to make a quick but very impressive card. I love the colours of the Pixie Powder background you have created. I don't think I have seen the star background embossing folder you have used before now. I am assuming that it may be a new one ?     I also want to say how much I really LOVE the gorgeous card you posted yesterday. The video is fab and I love your new Isobel die set so much that I ordered one for myself today !!! I just had to have it !!! It is so very pretty, and very elegant looking. I ordered your Sundae ice cream necessities die set to. ( After watching Lisa Horton showcasing your fab necessities dies.) I watched all the shows as your Pressed Shirt die set very quickly sold out as a single set. I was making my Dad's Fathers Day card using the Pressed Shirt die set at the time, relieved that I already had mine !!! All your cards are gorgeous Sue. I LOVE everything you make.     I love this card as I love all of your cards and although I have so many dies (even many that I've never used) I never seem to have the ones that I need RIGHT NOW!
    One of these days I'm going to try using some of the pixie powders that I've bought as you make such lovely backgrounds with them.
