Hi

Hello there my crafty friends!  I thought I would show off one of the beautiful Stamps To Die For range today.  I started by stamping the My Secret Garden STDF that matches the Ivy Garden Background die.  I used Distress markers to colour the stamped image (antique linen, worn lipstick, spun sugar, forest moss, spiced marmalade and tea dye).  I cut it out with the circle die from the Ivy Garden background die set and added mounting foam to the back.  Next I cut the outer section from the die twice.  Once out of white and once out of green.  I used the ivy corners from the green one and inlaid them back into the opening on the white one.  I seated the stamped image in the centre and added the Hi mini expression to it.  The card was completed with white on white mats.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  6 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  7. Hi to you too Sue. What a beautiful way to show someone you care or that you're thinking of them. Text and email are taking over in most case's and I'm embarrased and ashamed to own up to being guilty of this too, thanks to all the 'fake' insurance claim' calls and being able to block unknown phone numbers we also block our friends numbers which is so not intended, so sending something as gorgeous as this would defiantly show you care. Thank you for this lovely inspiration what more could we ask for to end the week with.
    Sending Friday hugs xxx

  31. Wow, your colors go so well together, and the stamp really calls for ivy around it. I've joined the chorus of admiration for the inset ivy. It's not really paper piecing, it's just putting the die cut back in. The same thing would work on Flora, I'm guessing.

It seems remarkable that you could color the stamped image with distress inks. I'm guessing you used paintbrushes rather than smoothies.

    Enjoy your Friday.

    Best,
    Donita

what a lovely way to say "Hi" to someone. The adorable scene featured on the die goes perfectly with the Ivy Garden die set. It's amazing how using a stamp instead of a die changes the whole feeling of the card.

    Thanks for sharing.

Like the idea of inserting the ivy leaves
    into the corner instead of sticking them on;

Hello there Sue. I love everything about this card. I'm not very efficient at stamping so don't do it very often. I must rectify that
I may not be able to comment very often during the next 2 weeks as I am off to Fuerteventura tomorrow I am taking some cutouts and coloured pencils with me so I will not be idle.
I don't like having to take my wheelchair with me but I can't manage without it unfortunately.
I really hope I will be able to get some computer time but not sure.
    Bye for now.

  76. Hi Sue,

Another stunning card plus stamp, which you so nicely have coloured it. I love it, as it has the "country" feel to me.

I have the ivy die, and I am sure I have some circular stamps that I could use.

Sue showing us all that dies and stamps are so versatile.

    Love n hugs to everyone
