Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  Here is one of the cards that was shown on the One Day Special shows in Feb.   I started by stamping the flowers from the Floral Happiness stamp set by Creative Expressions.  I used Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxides for the flowers and added some Peeled Paint distress oxide for the leaves.  I dried it well with a heat tool and then covered it with a piece of sticky adhesive sheet.  I used Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz around the edges to add sparkle to the stamped flowers.  I cut two of the Double Stitched Rectangles in white and layered them up and added them to the centre of the card (raised with some foam).  I letterpressed the Summer Rose Frame, once in Peeled Paint for the leaves and once in Worn Lipstick for the flowers.  I cut the flowers out and added them to the top of the green letterpressed flowers and glued them to the rectangle.  I cut the frame from the centre of the Summer Rose frame and stacked them up for dimension.  The base was cut from a piece of sticky adhesive on white card using the larger shape.  I peeled the backing off and added the edge frame to it.  I cut the sentiment out then inked it with Worn Lipstick and added it to the centre of the frame.  I used Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz on the remaining exposed adhesive for a bit of bling.  I glued it to the centre of the Summer Rose Frame and completed the card with white mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 1/2" in size.  If you would like a chance to win this card, just leave a comment on this post.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

  51. Well, I'm not sure what you mean by letterpressing. Could somebody explain?

I'm so glad you gave us the name of the stamp set. That's what achieves such a happy look, those happy flower faces in the bright distress oxides.

Getting more and more thrilled to see you roll out your April launch.

    Best to everyone,

I have the stamps but no oxides. The want list just gets longer. Unfortunately that has to come after saving for removal company, solicitor, estate agent, gas and electricity.........that list gets bigger by the day!! Perhaps I should have decided to stay put and craft.

  54. Hello Sue and all

Loved this card on catchup on Hochanda and cannot record those shows so I am very glad tht you have included it on the blog. It is so bright and gorgeous.

Donita, Sue has done a bit of letter pressing over time and I looked up Sue Wilson You tube letterpressing on google and there are videos that come up. Sue inks the embossing folder, drips the card on it and runs it through which leaves the ink on all the raised embossed surfaces (or negative depending which side you put the card on). Another brilliant technique from Sue. Hope that helps.

Big hugs to all and missing friends

    Muriel x

  61. Hello,

Very bright and cheerful card, a really spring card. If we don't have spring outside at least we have it here. It will be interesting to see a video with this letterpressed technique. I know Muriel K. said that Sue has some videos with this technique, but she is using EF not a die. Using a die it might be a little bit different, I think.
