Leaf Resist Card

Hi Bloggers!  I was thinking ahead when I designed this card as I used the leaves to create a gorgeous resist pattern for my background,  then upcycled the leaves from this on to another card!  Such a fun way to get a two-fer!

The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  7. A fabulous technique which shows the leaves off to great effect. A good card for males or maybe with a different colour range could easily be for females too,

  19. Hi Sue,

Another stunning background with Pixie Powders which could easily have swamped the focal point without that clever double frame to isolate it and a little bit of glitter doesn't hurt either...lol....lovely card, off to check out the video now

  21. Good Morning Sue. I am amazed by this video. How much more simple can you show us a brilliant background effect using pixie powders and dies. Just beautiful. I am loving the p.powders at the moment....now I know not to flood them.... so this will be something else I can't wait to try.... and I am already thinking snowflake dies instead of leaves..... nearer Christmas of course. Can you imagine that. Sending best wishes to everyone this miserable dull rainy morning. What a difference from yesterday. Kind regards Ann Toppcards Leeds

  22. Hi Sue - such a beautiful card. The square frame really sets off the pretty Julia die and a great tip about adding the glitter after putting the frame in place. Love the pixie colours you have chosen too and looking forward to seeing the next card using the leaves. Sending best wishes

  25. Wow, what a fabulous card. I love everything about it so what more can I say! Will have to watch the video again as I’m not quite sure if you removed the leaves, just leaving the shape once the pixies had dried? Something I will certainly be trying & would like to try a butterfly & dragonfly background & maybe a floral one. The possibilities are endless. Thank you so much Sue.

  26. Always a fun video! Hoping we'll get to see the related card soon, using the Pixie-Powdered leaves. I'm imagining that Pixie Powdering job is extra scary because you have to like what you end up with because you can't re-apply the Pixies after the leaves move.

Maybe the cascading butterflies could also be done this way, in summer colors.

    Best to all,

    Donita

  46. Hi Sue, a lovely card and the beautiful autumnal colours suit the leaves so well. Most non-crafters are intrigued by the resist technique and I think this one would keep them puzzling for ages. Thanks for the video and I shall look out for the actual leaves making an appearance soon.
