Get Well

Hello there my crafty friends!  I have a lovely, but very simple card to share with you today.  I started by embossing a piece of Sky Blue card with the Splendid Garland 3D embossing folder.  I cut it into three strips and mounted it on another piece of coconut white card using mounting foam.  For the focal element, I cut the Summer Rose Frame in white (using two pieces of card so you get the lovely debossed effect in one pass).  I inked the flowers with Enchanted Blossom Chalk Cloud and the leaves with Subtle Sage Chalk Cloud using smoothies.  I added mounting foam to raise the frame and added it to the centre of the card.  I cut the Get Well mini expression die a couple of times in white and stacked them and glued them in the middle.  White and Sky blue mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  13. Hi Sue. Whoever designs the embossing folders within the company have an amazing creative, artistic flair for knowing what works. Plain but dramatically, simple but amazing, this folder makes the prettiest of backgrounds to enhance the simplistic die from your collection, it's absolutely beautiful. A card that with just a change of sentiment would be fantastic for batch making ☺
Thanks you for the inspiration and for all the amazing samples and tutorials you gave us last week.

Beautiful card design. I especially like your Splendid Garland 3D embossing folder. I just checked to see if I can purchase this folder in the USA. Unfortunately I did not find a shop to purchase this lovely folder.

  56. So pretty and I love the embossing folder. Do you recommend lightly misting your cardstock before running it through the machine to emboss? I heard that some where that it's recommended, especially if your cardstock is really heavy, like 100# or greater.

    Beautiful card....love the colors, too.

I am the proud owner of the Summer Rose Frame as the boys were the perfect sons and I got the last one day special for Mothers Day. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us this weekend. Am hoping that I can persuade the boys to treat me for Easter but I don't think I will manage it. I usually get a couple of creme eggs - slight difference in the cost!!
