King Of The Grill

Hello all!  Don't look out the window, just imagine yourself at a lovely warm summer barbecue! LOL  Does that help at all?  Today's card uses the King of the Grill die set.  I selected some patterned papers from my stash as they had a picnic sort of feel to them.  I made three panels and backed them in red and added them to a larger piece of black card.  Next I cut the Ella die as a backing for the barbecue which I cut out of black gloss card.  I added the flames and hung tools off of it.  On the panel opposite, I cut three hexagons and used them to highlight the other barbecue items.  Ketchup and mustard on the top, meat in the middle and veg and skewer on the bottom.  I cut the sentiment and added it to a slightly larger hexagon with the chefs hat behind it.  I added some bakers twine with a grosgrain ribbon bow as an embellishment and three black pearls.  I completed the card with cream and red mats.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7 3/4" in size.

I will be back later today with the die winners from the blog launch.  Please check back in the late afternoon to see if your name is on the list!  All for now, Sue x

  3. Morning Sue. I'm trying to imagin a warm sunny day but it's so difficult considering up North we hardly get those kind of days in comparison to the South of the map but I can dream lol anyway who needs a sunny day to enjoy today's fun sample ? Not me that's for sure. After re-writtng my NEED list this die stayed on, and as we are approaching Valentine's Day I'm wondering if this maybe a gift (a few sneaky deliveries recently) or will it be your new Mom/Mum or new Easter dies so I can prepare ahead for market, either way one day I will own this fun lovely useful die set ☺
Will try to remember to check back later and hope to see lots of names we see daily in the meantime I hope your day is a lovely one xxx

  22. Hi Sue
Magnificent card. Such a pleaser for so many aspiring BBQ experts - I know so many. The intricate detail on the sauce bottles and the food is spectacular. I think this card would suit almost all of the men in my life x
I'm sorry for not commenting yesterday - the short version of events as follows - Jake injured foot. Taxi to hospital. Long wait. See nurse. Long wait. See doctor. Long wait. X ray. Long wait. Conclusion - dislocated big toe (ouch). Long wait. Doctor manipulated said toe back into position whilst Jake relied heavily on gas and air. Much hilarity all round watching Jake under the influence of gas and air - highly entertaining! Taxi home. Completely shattered. Bed x
Yesterdays card is absolutely stunning and I anticipate a viewing of the video a little later whilst resting to recover from yesterdays shenanigans x

  35. It's funny how the food is the reason for a BBQ, but the weather is what makes it enjoyable. We could bundle up and grill in the snow, then eat in the house, but what's good about it if we can't sit on the deck and breathe in the air scented with flowers and fresh-mown grass.

I have plans to use this set on my dad for Father's Day, then make him some to send his son and grandsons. SomInappreciate as many ideas as you care to offer.

Thank you for giving us the excitement of expectation.

Sure was fun reading your account of your day, Yvonne.

  49. Morning Sue, I took your advise, looked out of the window and revealed in the sunshine and heat! Well, why wouldn't I as that's one of the reasons for staying here and avoiding part of our winter. However, we are expecting rain later this pm.
I have used this die many times since I've been here as a 'thank you'card for the braais that we have attended.

None of this detracts from the beauty of this card which I think is perfect for those who enjoy BBQ's. I love the set but have no-one who would appreciate it so will just admire your designs. I love the paper and colours you have used.
