Grateful

Hi crafters!  More pixie powders for today's card!  I started with a piece of coconut white card and sprinkles Straw Yellow, Burnt Orange and Lava Red Pixie Powders all over it then spritzed with water.  Once dry, I cut the Cascading Leaves die out of it several times to use all the leaves.  On another piece of card, I covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet and placed all the leaves down on it randomly.  I filled in the exposed adhesive with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz for a bit of bling!  Using the Double Stitched Rectangle die set, I made a multi layered frame cut out of coconut white card and black card and added it with mounting foam.  I cut the sentiment out of black card from the Mix & Match Friendship Sentiment set and glued it to the upper corner are inside the frame.  For a floral element, I used the Spiral Flower die set and made three flowers out of white card.  I added them into opposite corners and accented them with the Oak Leaf Swag cut in white.  The card was completed with white and black mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Happy Monday Sue. I think whoever thought up the idea of Pixie Powders deserves a medal, they are so pretty and you can do so many beautiful things with them as you've shown here, this morning's sample is lovely. For any new Pixie Powderers lol and your first trial isn't what you hoped it would be just cut some flowers or leaves like Sue has done and you'll then love it instead of condemning it to the paper recycle bin, believe me (and others) when we say "don't give up" lol.
Thanks for a lovely start to our week and hope your day is a lovely day too xxx

  34. Hi Sue,

I can imagine this card would really catch the light when placed on a sunny windowsill - love the Pixie colours you've used, so vibrant - and Stephanie is right, there's no such thing as a wasted Pixie Powder background - if it doesn't turn out the way you'd hoped then just cut some outline die shapes with it, flowers, leaves, even sentiments would probably look great...

  72. Leaves must be on my mind. I was just using the cascading leaves die with Pixies. Stephanie C is spot on...Pixies are never wasted just cut out a die. I have a rather homely sprayed sheet that turned into a gem once cut out and made a pretty card focal. They , of course are background stars too.
This card is so much prettier than my little card but what inspiration.
