Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi crafters!  Only a couple of more Wednesdays are left before the big day and I thought I would take advantage of them for the chance to give away another Christmas card.  Today's offering is a pretty navy blue and white number.  I started by cutting an aperture in the upper portion of a piece of coconut white card using the Noelle Frame die set.  I embossed the card to add texture to the background by using the Poinsettia Trellis embossing folder.   Next I cut the Garland Edger die in navy blue card using two of the dies together.  I glued it across the lower portion of the card.  I cut the Noelle Frame outer decorative die with the cutting edge, backed it in white then cut it into a frame using the next cutting edge.  I added mounting foam to the back of it to raise it.  I used the centre decorative die and cut it into the navy blue card and seated the frame over it and trimmed away the excess card around the edge.  I added a white backing piece and attached it to the upper portion of the card.  I cut Merry & Bright several times and stacked them for dimension and glued them into the centre of the frame.  Using the Classic Poinsettia die, I made several white poinsettias.  I added Iced Snow to the tips of them before assembling and glued them into place on the garland edger and the opposite corner of the Noelle Frame.  I used white Holly Swirls as accents.  White and Navy Blue mats and layers were used to complete the card.  Leave a comment if you would like to be entered into the drawing to win this card.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

  1. A very beautiful card for the Wednesday giveaway. Whoever wins this will have something to treasure.
I want to thank Sue, she has an amazing blog which is more like a community, she has allowed us to express our sadness and grief at losing our lovely Tracey. As Saba said yesterday we are all different in the way we comment but we are all constant in our love of the blog and Sues work and for me that won't change, I'm proud to be a Wilsonette.
Sharon, hope your holiday is going well and that you are getting plenty of rest.
Elaine, hope Andrew is doing well. You all have an anxious wait for the scan results.
Maureen, hope George is fully recovered.
I hope everyone stays warm and well. Our snow is melting here thank goodness. Took my car to the garage yesterday and couldn't get it to pull away on the ice, one if the mechanics had to turn it fior me and that was with his colleagues pushing, the road was so icy.
Basket of hugs ready, thinking of all poorly and missing friends.

  2. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, such a stunning card today as a giveaway, you never cease to amaze me every day with all your different samples, you have an amazing job which you share with a passion with us, designing your own dies and then crafting all these different samples, I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, did you know the first thing I do every day is to check this blog out, then I read Pam's comments.

Pam I reiterate all you have said, you really are so very kind to all us Wilsonettes, you simplify and condense all that is happening, but your words are so deeply caring and supportive for everyone, thank you for being our inspiration too. Thank goodness for the mechanics who helped you yesterday to get out of the ice, there really are so many caring people in this world. Please drive carefully today, I know you say it is clearing up a bit but it is still very slippery out there.

Well today I am off to our craft club Christmas lunch, we are going to Dobbies, which is a garden centre near us, they really do put on a lovely meal and cater for all 14 of us, we have lots of laughs, with funny stories, funny hats and lots of merriment and in the past not one of us has an alcoholic drink, all just tea and coffee..... not that I begrudge anyone a little tipple. It will be the last time I see many of my ladies this year so will have lots of hugs.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  12. So we're on countdown to the last few remaining festive samples which is crazy considering this families festive season started in July lol (or in our fairycraftmother's case in a warm sunny April ) !! But am I sad - nope as we have 'others' that didn't get their day and they will be lush as always just like this beautiful mono sample. I now have square eye's after yesterday's card marathon, plus I seemed to miss a meal along the way. It seemed to take longer to tidy between each card than make each card, market is a week earlier this month so after sending my order off in 3 separate batches it was head down, phone off and market marathon to re-stock ready for Sunday and more of the same today ! After reading the really sad news about Tracy it got me thinking that we all have our worries and illnesses to live with but not once did we read a single post from this very brave lady that was nothing but positive even 3 weeks or so ago when she informed us that IVF was no longer possible, she still had that air of positivity in her post but she didn't mention how poor her prognosis was at that time bless her. So although I understand how important this blog is for some to reach out for reassurance and friendships Tracy has left a massive hole here but also a bigger legacy by showing us that being positive when the cloud isn't just grey, its the blackest it could ever be, is the only way forward. I think, and it's only my opinion for what its worth, that 2018 should be the year of Particraft positivity not only to keep this brilliant blog happy and light, but to keep in mind that things arn't so bad and we are strong enough and empowered enough to get through anything life has to throw us a curve ball ! After all Sue gives us the most amazing uplifting start to our day via her gorgeous samples, then we stick a great big dull umbrella over it and it takes over and rolls on and engulfs us all with sadness sometimes. So 2018 will make me think of Tracy and all she stood for here which was the biggest basket of positivity and hope I've ever had the honour to read. You rock girl.

To you Sue I send the biggest basket of hugs just for being the Sue we love and admire. Have a great day xx

  13. Dear Sue and Caring Crafters,

I love this card! Everything about it! Even the poinsettias!

Possibly the best of the 2017 giveaways.

It occurs to me that Warm Wishes could be the sentiment on the shooting snowflake, for those who would rather not tempt nature toward snow.

Usually I'm sorry to see the old year go, but the promise of a new year with new releases, new samples, new videos, new inspiration and a daily treat is a strong pull into 2018.

    Thank you Sue and Wilsonettes,

    Love,
    Donita

What a stunning giveaway card anyone would love to receive it and treasure I know I would. Iam so sad I havent had a chance to make any cards this year with all that has been going on, and I was hoping to make some while away but by the time I put in all the presents and bits my son wanted there was no room, so all my plans out the window, so Iam going home ma lot lighter than I came and no cards, so I have set myself a target for next year to be prepared so going to start making at least one Christmas card a week.....

I reiterate all Pam has said and yes it is a fantastic group of lovely caring people on here, everyone is so supportive and helpful and it is like a big group of friends really, I know with all I have had going on this year your support has really helped me through it all, so a big thank you each and everyone of you. Iam still in Cyprus and Iam still one day behind in getting my blog email but he brain has kicked in and realised just to come on and go to the next day down the side, Have had a bad tummy the last week for some reason and feeling rough so really havent done much at all out here yet, but today Im of to see a couple of churches hopefully if I can find them, wish me luck xx

Sending love and healing hugs to all that need them
    Have a good day all

You may not like it that some Wilsonettes including me post our illnesses on this blog. This blog has helped me no end to try to stay positive, without them I don't think I would be here. If you are not happy please don't read my post.
We all comment on Sue's lovely cards, they are brilliant but a bit of caring and sharing doesn't go amiss. I am quite offended by your remarks. I have had cancer, osteoarthritis all through my body, spine wearing sesy top and bottom now have epilepsy, have been assulted suffer from depression stress and anxiety, Siva bit of help in here is marvellous.

    1. This was certainly not written to offend as I also have several nasty conditions to live with which means two injections weekly and 15 meds daily. I was mearly paying tribute to the strength Tracy had and how encouraging she was. I too have reached out in the past whilst I'm hospital, so you see I mean no harm or offence. Hope you can re-read my comment and see exactly what I was saying ☺

    2. I agree how strong Tracy was but we are not all the same. I was emailing Tracy regularly. We became quite close as email buddies. I encouraged her no end and we had a laugh. She said it was good to get it off her chest. She never told me how bad things were, I don't think she did either by her txts. I too am on 15 meds a day. I hope sincerely that you are not in pain and that the injections/ tablets help you. I will try to be more positive but the depression keeps getting in the way. Hopefully the new year will bring health and happiness to us all love and huggles 🌸❤

I don't tend to write much in the comments here but I read a lot ;) - doesn't mean that I don't appreciate the lovely samples Sue shares with us, just that I don't ...well, just don't say much :)

I did go back and re-read Stephanie's comments and saw absolutely nothing wrong with her words. Sadly, the written word doesn't always come across as the 'writer' means it or the 'reader' can misinterpret but it's generally always best to take a breath and then pass on.

We've been snowed-in for the past few days, it's been beautiful but restrictive. Today it's pouring with rain and the snow is melting nicely but looks so ugly - my picturesque Farquarharson-like photo-taking will have to stop.

  101. Hello Sue,
What a stunning card, it's got such elegance to it. I think blue and white is my favourite combination this year although I do like silver as well. Actually, I like any colour combination you put together, you just seem to get it right every time. Wish I had your eye for colour and your talent for design!!

Pam you always sum everything up perfectly. I'm proud to be a wilsonette too. Sues cards and her videos have given us all so much inspiration and help in our creative endeavours, I know my card making would be seriously lacking without her. I also love the fact we can have a giggle together, we can offer congratulations and share fond memories but I am equally grateful that sometimes we can offer a supportive word and help one another along the way.
    Love and hugs for all

Stunning card Sue as all your other cards are. I wonder how many cards you make in a year! It must be astronomical.
I can't believe how near we are to Christmas and I still haven't made as many as I should. .
I enjoy everything about this blog and feel honoured to be a member. I had new lights put into my craft room yesterday and what a difference.
I must get myself into there and get working.
    Love to all.
