You Are My Sunshine
Hi bloggers! First up this morning is the lovely set called You Are My Sunshine! Shown here, you can see that is makes a beautiful clean and simple card to brighten any one's day! The rainbow has been designed so you can cut it in different colours and put them all together to make your own bespoke rainbow. This set has also been designed to work with the other sets that you will see later today. There are just so many possibilities with this one! Gorgeous card Sue, the die set is superb. Makes a wonderful baby card. Loving this collection so much more than u thought I would, you have really stirred us up. All this talk of old words brings back lovely memories of days gone by, but I can't recall ever using bushel outside of school when we did weights and measurements. Maureen what is wrong with feet and inches, can't be doing with that metric thingamabiobby. Same with pounds and ounces. Pat so glad you enjoyed the Poppy Display, I bet it was a sight to behold. Maria, enjoyable day at the NEC, hope you don't suffer too much. Laine, I hope you got your nails fixed, the Anaethetist told me I have to have one nail clear if polish when I get my op but he will allow me to have the others painted, so they can attach the pulse oximeter. Hugs in the basket, free to all. Thinking of all poorly and missing friends, their poor wee animals too.Lesley has to be careful with her horses during the fireworks period which seems to go on forever.

Hello Sue Such a stunning die I can see so many uses for it in fact I nearly bought it at the NEC but I needed to get your square shadow box background and your hexagons so on my list they go have you noticed I used the word NEED I use that a lot when I talk about your dies Well I have another busy day helping my daughter prepare for her partners 40th was catching up with everyone's comments last night lovely to see Rosemary back.The puppy was gorgeous I had to drag my daughter away but it won't be long until the beginning of December.They are going to call it Ernie they a!ready have a dog called Bert.Have a lovely day everyone

I love how the rainbow begins and ends in the clouds. We sure got cloud-rich in the last two releases! The way the rainbow works, I'm guessing, is that you cut the whole rainbow in each color, then separate the stripes and reassemble the rainbows so each stripe is a different color. So if you cut the seven colors of the rainbow, you could make lots of rainbows, but only one with the correct color order. Hmmm, how fun would it be to cut rainbows from patterned paper, or Pixie Powdered paper? Or the whole rainbow could be blue, and you could spell out: Feeling blue? Never noticed before that a rainbow implies sunshine. FYI, we still use bushel in the U.S. And half-bushel. Since I've only heard of peck in the hug-around-the-neck song, I thought it meant a kiss. So a peck is to a bushel as a quart is to a gallon. Good to know. I guess farthing never got here, or if it did, it didn't last long. If you had a bushel full of farthings, could you buy a cup of coffee? So hey, Saba, I'm surely not the only one who noticed your little "too young" joke. Laine, I didn't even notice I signed Donuts. I was supposed to be getting ready for work, but I kept falling asleep on that post. My favorite doughnut is the Boston Cream. Custard-filled, with chocolate frosting. Custard or pudding. What do I have in common with the Boston Cream? I can be pudding-headed. As when I was trying to write that Father David Ricard read the Lazarus story, only I put Father David Lazarus. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, Oh my word what can I say but YES this has got to be the best die set of the day, so cheering on this cold miserable Saturday morning, can so easily be any sort of occasion - I would so love to win this one. A definite must have set of dies. This card is gorgeous, and the cards you could make with these sentiments would be lovely. The song “You are my sunshine” was what my parents sang to each other and brings back memories for me. Thank you Sue. Xx

Well i was cracking on with my C cards yesterday managed to do 3 without interruption then the phone rings and so does the doorbell then John wants a Sandwich and the doorbell rings again and we had visitors Grrrr hecky thump i love visitors but when i am at a loose end with nothing to do we never have any , anyhow plan two is on the cards today ,we are having a brunch at 11 O,clock and i am phoning for a Chinese for supper ,so the craft starts again this afternoon, the phone will be off the hook and if the doorbell rings i send John to answer it , So i will be hoping to catch up on all blogs later , i always have a problem reading all blogs when its a launch there never seems to be enough hours in the day for me to get around to it, or it maybe because i am getting slower in my old age haha thats more like it . On that note i will say big huggles to all
Hi Sue. I have a rainbow stamp which I then have to colour in to make a similar card. This die would save me so much time. I'm off to Florida for the New Year, yipee. SueL x

PHENOMENAL!! Like any Rainbow. It's quite staggering how you manage to achieve the marvellous stitching detail to every arc of the Rainbow, it is absolutely breathtaking and it has soared to the top of my most wanted list. Most of my orders are baby cards and this will be a fabulous addition, especially with my fillable clouds from the previous launch, Oh so exciting!! Looking forward to seeing the rest of today's :-)

Morning Sue Oh wow - beautiful. This is such an adorable card. There is such a mountain of possibilities with this die set. Love it. they will work so perfectly with the dies from Septembers launch x I am so sorry that I have not commented since Tuesday morning. I went off to a friends house and only got back last night. Unbeknown to me I was staying til yesterday evening being waited on hand and foot with a Spa day thrown in on Thursday. I was totally unprepared so did not have my tablet and I just could not master the art of commenting on my friends i phone. I have checked out all the posts I have missed and they are amazing! You never cease to amaze Sue x Got a jam packed day and evening ahead. A gorgeous card, love the die set with the cute birds and hearts. The embossing folder works great with this card too. Love the clean and simple look here with the pretty pastels.

I absolutely love the You Brighten My Day die set it is the set that I know I have wanted for many years. Many beautiful grandchildren cards can be created!!!!!!!!!!
I thought the same as others, a great baby card AND (drum roll) I am going to have a grand baby in April (our first although we have a step grandson)...so have been looking at some of the baby sets. I loved Donita's ideas...7 cards at once or blue rainbows. Wonder if you could cut twice and put together like a stitched circle? Sue will do something we never dreamed of I am sure. I love the sentiments so that is a bonus too.A happy card.... maybe could send to people after these storms. Bushel & peck maybe are more American. Its a measure by size rather than weight so the farmer could price an amount of produce without scales? That's the way I think of it. My mother-inlaw is a farmer and they talk of bushels of potatoes, etc. Could not get the metric thing. Seems practical but once you think in a certain measure its hard to change. We gave it up here. I have gotten a British craft magazine which was all in metrics and I went crazy converting and still wasn't spot on. Do some use metric and some do not? I'd really be confused. Oh how lovely. As the sentiment says, anytime I see one of your cards or use one of your dies, it always brightens my day. even with the simplest of designs, your attention to detail is incredible, everything is thought out so well. Love this set and as others have said, there are so many possibilities.
Hello Sue, I adore everything about this card, it's simply lovely. This is one set I shall definitely be buying. It evokes lots of memories for me, You are my sunshine is what I always sang to each of my grandchildren when getting them off to sleep and it will be a perfect sentiment to put on their cards. The rainbow also has special meanings for me, the day our first grandchild was born there was an amazing rainbow in the sky and then the day we said goodbye to my beautiful sister one appeared just as we were setting off for her service at church. I think of her now every time I see one, so bless you Sue for the memories.

I love how the rainbow begins and ends in the clouds. We sure got cloud-rich in the last two releases!
The way the rainbow works, I'm guessing, is that you cut the whole rainbow in each color, then separate the stripes and reassemble the rainbows so each stripe is a different color. So if you cut the seven colors of the rainbow, you could make lots of rainbows, but only one with the correct color order.
Hmmm, how fun would it be to cut rainbows from patterned paper, or Pixie Powdered paper?
Or the whole rainbow could be blue, and you could spell out: Feeling blue?
Never noticed before that a rainbow implies sunshine.
FYI, we still use bushel in the U.S. And half-bushel. Since I've only heard of peck in the hug-around-the-neck song, I thought it meant a kiss. So a peck is to a bushel as a quart is to a gallon. Good to know. I guess farthing never got here, or if it did, it didn't last long.
If you had a bushel full of farthings, could you buy a cup of coffee?

Laine, I didn't even notice I signed Donuts. I was supposed to be getting ready for work, but I kept falling asleep on that post. My favorite doughnut is the Boston Cream. Custard-filled, with chocolate frosting. Custard or pudding. What do I have in common with the Boston Cream? I can be pudding-headed. As when I was trying to write that Father David Ricard read the Lazarus story, only I put Father David Lazarus.

Well i was cracking on with my C cards yesterday managed to do 3 without interruption then the phone rings and so does the doorbell then John wants a Sandwich and the doorbell rings again and we had visitors Grrrr hecky thump i love visitors but when i am at a loose end with nothing to do we never have any , anyhow plan two is on the cards today ,we are having a brunch at 11 O,clock and i am phoning for a Chinese for supper ,so the craft starts again this afternoon, the phone will be off the hook and if the doorbell rings i send John to answer it ,
So i will be hoping to catch up on all blogs later , i always have a problem reading all blogs when its a launch there never seems to be enough hours in the day for me to get around to it, or it maybe because i am getting slower in my old age haha thats more like it .

It's quite staggering how you manage to achieve the marvellous stitching detail to every arc of the Rainbow, it is absolutely breathtaking and it has soared to the top of my most wanted list. Most of my orders are baby cards and this will be a fabulous addition, especially with my fillable clouds from the previous launch, Oh so exciting!!

I am so sorry that I have not commented since Tuesday morning. I went off to a friends house and only got back last night. Unbeknown to me I was staying til yesterday evening being waited on hand and foot with a Spa day thrown in on Thursday.
I was totally unprepared so did not have my tablet and I just could not master the art of commenting on my friends i phone. I have checked out all the posts I have missed and they are amazing! You never cease to amaze Sue x
Got a jam packed day and evening ahead. Hoards descending this evening for fun frolics and fireworks so going to he hit and miss with comments today but will give you my undivided attention tomorrow x

ReplyDeleteI thought the same as others, a great baby card AND (drum roll) I am going to have a grand baby in April (our first although we have a step grandson)...so have been looking at some of the baby sets. I loved Donita's ideas...7 cards at once or blue rainbows. Wonder if you could cut twice and put together like a stitched circle? Sue will do something we never dreamed of I am sure. I love the sentiments so that is a bonus too.A happy card.... maybe could send to people after these storms.
ReplyDeleteBushel & peck maybe are more American. Its a measure by size rather than weight so the farmer could price an amount of produce without scales? That's the way I think of it. My mother-inlaw is a farmer and they talk of bushels of potatoes, etc.
Could not get the metric thing. Seems practical but once you think in a certain measure its hard to change. We gave it up here. I have gotten a British craft magazine which was all in metrics and I went crazy converting and still wasn't spot on. Do some use metric and some do not? I'd really be confused.

ReplyDeleteI adore everything about this card, it's simply lovely. This is one set I shall definitely be buying. It evokes lots of memories for me, You are my sunshine is what I always sang to each of my grandchildren when getting them off to sleep and it will be a perfect sentiment to put on their cards. The rainbow also has special meanings for me, the day our first grandchild was born there was an amazing rainbow in the sky and then the day we said goodbye to my beautiful sister one appeared just as we were setting off for her service at church. I think of her now every time I see one, so bless you Sue for the memories.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and fabulous die set. Love the sentiments and the little birds, hearts, the cloud and that stitched rainbow. So many uses for the dies. Like Saba, 'You are my sunshine' was the song I sang to my grandchildren when they were babies to get them to sleep. Happy memories.
