Petite Petal Striplet

Hello there my crafty friends!  Today's card is a truly simple design and I didn't even think it needed a sentiment!  I used the Petite Petal Striplet inner decorative die and cut it into the card three times, leaving a small gap between each of them and a wider border around.  I glued a piece of acetate to the back and raised it with mounting foam.  I attached it to a piece of white card covered with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I glittered the backing with Frosted Sparkle Glitterbitz and attached the striplets over the top.  I used Lilac card and green card (from my stash) and paper pieced all the striplets to add a pop of colour to it.  I finished with a white on white pierced mat and layer.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 1/4" in size.  all for now, Sue x

  1. Beautiful card Sue, makes my Monday a lot more cheery to see this before work.
Elaine, my goodness you were lucky not to have gone down, thank heavens for the stick. I don't like the crowded shops at this time if year. I love the Christmas displays but I don't feel safe any more being jostled in the crowds.
Crewe Trish, you mum is trooper. Your poor hubby, no need to feel bad about it, he is suffering enough.
June, hooe you had a super day and your Christmas party to boot.
I'm okay thanks Maureen, had a bit of a blip Saturday, I was out looking for a new Christmas tree but none compared with the one I've got, it's just so big, fills the bay window recess. Think I will stick with it.
Ann you know you and your brother will have our support, it's what we do and you have done it for us too. Hooe all goes well soon.
Tracey, sending loving hugs to keep you safe.
Hope everyone has a great Monday, keep warm and safe. Hugs aplenty to go around. Special thoughts of our poorly and mussing friends.

  39. Good Morning Sue.How lovely is this card. And the colours are beautiful. Last week I treated myself to the dies that you used for one of your Christmas cards that I fell in love with. Then on Saturday I went to our craft shop and I saw this die. I hovered and hesitated, shall I? shan't I? I Thought I was being good as I said no to myself and came home. Now Sue you show us this card and I am sat here kicking myself because I didn't get it. I think you all know where I will be heading for next weekend when I go into Leeds town centre. Lol. In limbo at the moment as waiting for the men from the gas board to come and fit a smart meter, what's the betting that they come at the end of the time slot rather than the beginning!

  74. Dear Sue and Friends,

This must look sensational in person. It takes my breath away even without being able to see the glitterbitz.
I used several of the Industrial Chic dies for my sister's birthday card, and they all cut wonderfully right out of the package. I'm so happy with that collection.
It's amazing that Christmas shopping is already in full swing over there. We apparently have a rule that you can't start Christmas shopping until Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Once that happens, avoid the mall at all costs. I agree that online is the way to go.
Pauline, why would you leave RSA just as summer is going into full swing there and winter is coming on strong in the U.K.? I'm guessing to be with family for the holidays. And maybe for the same reason people in Phoenix go elsewhere in the summer -- it's just too hot there.
    Love,
    Donita

  79. Hello Sue,
What a pretty card today, and you are right, adding a sentiment would be gilding the lily.
Pam, sorry to read that you were "off" on Saturday. We donated our large bushy tree to our daughter and son in law for the same reason as you, and bought a tall, narrow tree with the lights already fitted (which have gradually died on us so we have to add lights now)! Have a good day and don't get stressed.
June S, sounds as though you had a super day, and calories don't count when it's a Christmas "do".
Elaine, hope you get your laptop sorted and all is well with the family.
Pauline A, safe journey home tomorrow.
Fluffycat, hope the Gas Men come sooner rather than later!
Donita, Christmas shopping seems to get earlier and earlier here. We started having Black Friday after copying you a few years ago and some shops have Black Friday all week!!
    Tracy, love and prayers.
Laine and PP, thinking of you and sending love.

Black Friday is definitely the time to avoid malls. Too much crazy. My sister and I went into the small town near here and browsed the small shops, more fun and met some nice shoppers and shop keepers too. I give mostly gift cards these days but like to buy stocking stuffers.
Everyone a good beginning of the week. Elaine stay safe and get that lap top back in form.

Carmen-Dorothy! - just read your late night message from Saturday/ Sunday! My friend Elizabeth considers herself Hungarian/ Romanian. My history could be better but I’m guessing this has to do with the Austro- Hungarian Empire , WW2 and Communism. They all played a part in breaking up a country. I love her accent and that of her nieces and nephews when they come to visit! I know she really misses her Mum who is ill just now. It’s not easy being away from family especially when I’ll health strikes. Sending you a big hug!

  109. Gorgeous card Sue and love the colour. I have debated as to whether to get this die or not but it's working it's way up the list. The latest I have got is the square shadow box and the Alphabet Grid. Have made some cards with the shadow box today. Using the Christmas dies from the other shadow box from last year. Sorry I didn't congratulate the comment game winners yesterday. Realised after I had sent the message. ELaine I was sorry to hear you fell yesterday, it's so easily done. Good job you had the walking stick with you. Take care. You have enough family health problems without falling the breaking something. 111. What a beautiful card Sue. I may well buy it this very day although my low vision does not allow me to see straight lines and I will be so disappointed if I can't do it. I must see if there is a video on U-tube.
Congratulations to all the lucky winners of your dies Sue, I don't think I have ever seen one that I didn't like.
    Love to all.
