Industrial Chic Corner

Hi crafters!  Welcome to day two of the blog launch.  First up this morning we are showcasing more of the Industrial Chic Collection with the corner.  This is an intricately detailed large corner with cogs and wheels and a zipper edge back to it.  Shown here, you can see that it looks amazing done in alcohol inks and in a grunge style.  The individual elements from the corner can easily be nipped apart to use in other ways for greater versatility as well.  If you like the way that this die looks, you just need to leave a comment on this post and your name will be entered into the drawing.  Don't forget to make your name memorable by adding your surname or city you are from or just using an alias that stands out.  The next blog post has been scheduled for 12 noon today.  I would love to see you back on the blog then!  All for now, Sue x

  1. Great start to day 2, following on the obvious success of yesterday. This set of dies and card are really lovely. Love the corner die and the word too.
Donita, are you back on the grid yet, hope you are managing okay.
Saba, hooe family visit went well, you will miss them again.
Laine, of course we missed you and Yvonne too.
Alimecca I know that junction on A19 that you are on about, I wouldn't like to have to use that and also that steep dipping road into Elwick is practically no wider than a single lane. Luckily I live a couple of miles further on.
Hope everyone is well, it's very cold this morning, keep warm and safe.
Basket of hugs is open, help yourself, special thoughts of poorly and missing friends. Rosemary, you especially.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above, how did you get on at the hospital yesterday? Heard back from the diabetic class yesterday, the course starts next Wednesday afternoon for 6 weeks - still trying to persuade Colin to come with me but I know he doesn't like sitting around but as he does all the cooking it is important that he attends as well.

Off to craft group this morning.

This die is amazing. This new style is so far removed from the 'Sue style' we have come to know but I am loving this rebellious streak. Lol x
I am so surprised at how much I am embracing your take on shabby, industrial, grungy chic. Always steered clear of this sort of thing in the past but you have forced me to do a complete u turn and theses dies have gone to the top of my wish/want/got to get my hands on list x
Only managed to comment on the first card yesterday. I am out everyday this week. Jake has decided that he wants me in tip top condition so that I am well enough to thoroughly enjoy the firework festivities at the weekend. So I am at various friends during the day the theory being that I won't be able to do anything round the house. He is worried that I will end up overdoing things and end up burnt out and fit for nothing. He has assured me that the house will be clean and tidy before the crowds arrive and I don't need to worry - easier said than done - my standards are higher than his!! Lol x
Anyway I want to send everyone happy thoughts and lots of love especially my lovely blog besties x

I love this die which is strange as I don't go in for steampunk etc! I do have a fabulous Groovi plate that is similar in style and this die would compliment it - I can see them working nicely together. Really like your card as well this morning - the cogs look just like metal.

  79. Dear Bursting With Ideas Sue,

So happy about your new range! Next we need a steampunk owl.
Along with others, I'm captivated by the industrial chemical rust verdigris colors you achieved with alcohol inks. Perfect for the cog corner!
Stephanie Cotterill, you are so funny! Saba, same goes for you. I have never seen so many comedians on one blog.
Good thing we all have different tastes. I can gush about these, but I might just snooze during the cocktail sets.
I'm still without power, but doing fine. We had a storm with hurricane-force wind gusts Sunday night. It presented as just a storm, so there wasn't a week of warnings like we get for a hurricane. I've been out in hurricanes less blowy than this. About 183,000 households lost power, and they seem to be restoring about 40,000 a day. I'm in a rural area, so it's low on the priority list. The outage map shows that crews have been assigned. I haven't washed my hair since Saturday morning, and it's starting to look pretty good. Tonight I enjoyed a candlelight dinner of cheese and crackers in bed, under three blankets. The cat got a whole can of wet food because I couldn't refrigerate the half I would have saved for tomorrow. He still insisted that I share cracker bits.
Stephanie K in South Carolina, did you get hit with this storm?
Rosemary seems to be fine on Facebook. I told her about the launch and that she was missed.
Pam, I do hope you tell how your diagnostic visit went. All feels right in the world when you comment first with a roundup.
Princess Pixie, what are these fireworks to which you refer?
    And finally, WELCOME BACK, Laine!
    Love,
    Donita

  116. Hello Sue,
I can’t believe I’m typing this but I like this card a lot! I think it’s because your Dies have shape and elegance even with cogs and wheels! This card is a work of art and I love the effect you have created using the alcohol Inks! Thank you for making me think!
Pam - I do hope they push you up that List and that you don’t have to wait 18 weeks!
Donita - Fireworks are for 5th November the Anniversary of the date when a man called Guy Fawkes tried and failed to burn down the Houses of Parliament! We have firework displays on that date each year! Hope that helps. You made me smile re: crackers, biscuits and candlight! However it is far from funny. Hope you get power back ASAP! X
Maureen - I would never call you strange - odd yes but not strange!! X
Yvonne - aka PP - Jake is right! He wants his Mum fit and well a lot more than he wants a sparkling clean house! I’m with him! Be a good girl! X
Laine - all these shoes - I love them too but clearly not as much as you! Do we add boots to that tally? Good to have you back - Maureen and Saba are challenging shall we say!! X
    Love to all,
Myra ( Friend of Maureen!) xxx

  120. Hi Sue,
I really love this launch, so different die sets and cards than what you used to make. I can see flowers as well, in fall colors ... versatile die. Amazing!

Pam - Hope you'll have the surgery sooner than 18 weeks and meantime you'll be OK.
Donita -Candlelight dinner sounds ... romantic IF you won't have this electric problem. Sorry that you have to go thru this. Hope you get power back today. Stay warm. Take care.
PP - Jake is right, I'm with him, too, so be a good girl and do what he says. Enjoy your friends company, poor them ... Don't visit same friends every day, for sure they will need a break from you :)
Laine - You missed a lot, including my big round b-day when I got a new red pair of shoes... Long story short: red shoes-Pam call me Dorothy - this is my English name now. And you are not allowed to call me Dorothy, you have to earn this privilege:)

    Hugs to you all,
Still a newbie to Craft / not longer the newest, or the only across the pond Wilsonette

  129. Can't wait to get a lesson on the backgrounds you have been using. The alcohol coloring is interesting too.
Donita, no storm on Sunday here...I think it rained a little but nothing to stand out. We had tornadoes last Monday in a nearby town and had quite a soaking here...but your storm didn't hit us. Stay warm and maybe you could visit friends (like Yvonne).
    Everyone, be safe and happy,

  136. Hello,

I know that there are a lot of fans of steampunk and grunge from all of the comments. I'm trying really hard to broaden my horizon but I'm not moving ahead too rapidly. I think my grunge has actually gotten up and gone. I am appreciating the creativity of your mind though.

See you at the next posting.

  141. Another winning design - and I really like the verdigris effect. I'm not sure I've quite got the hang of grunge and steampunk, but I do like the way it looks and these dies would certainly help to create the style.

Great card also Sue, its a real inspiration and proves that with the right techniques and mediums you can transform something in to a thing of true beauty....great that you can also create such a visual impact with only one main die!
