Industrial Chic Butterfly & Dragonfly

Hi bloggers!  Welcome back to the final post of the launch day.  We are showcasing another die set in the Industrial Chic collection; the Butterfly & Dragonfly die set.  Who says that steampunk can't be pretty??  The butterfly and dragonfly have been designed with cogs, wheels and pulleys throughout to give the steampunk feel to them.  They can also be used to accent any sort of card as you can see from this sample, they don't have to be grungy to work!  If you think you might enjoy winning this set, then you only have to leave a comment to be entered into the drawing.  Well that's it for day number one, but we have seven more days coming up, starting here at 6am tomorrow morning.  Hope to see you then! All for now, Sue x

  2. Hello Sue,

Now I can finally say that I really like this card. The design of the dies here is different but something that I wouldn't mind trying. The steampunk has been quite cleverly incorporated into the butterfly and dragonfly. The pixie powdered gives a lightness to the design.

Looking forward to what you have for us tomorrow.

  10. Hi Sue

Have really enjoyed seeing how you have used the dies today, I think they would be an asset to anyones collection. I can see them being quite feminine if softer colours are used. And who doesn't like a butterfly?

  16. Hi Sue, now this card I do like and the butterfly and dragonfly hardly look like steampunk at all when treated this way. I'm sorry but I really did not like the previous card.

Laine - good to see you back earlier but I hope you are going to manage more than one comment before disappearing again:-) Look after your i-pad, you had a lot of people very concerned with your non-appearance.

  25. I am so engrossed in these beautiful new dies that I keep forgetting to say how lovely the cards are too. Butterflies and dragonflies are an essential of cardmaking, and these are so out of the normal box. I also think these will add a lovely feminine touch to what can be very masculine looking cards.

I'm late making comments because I've been caught up in Halloween, but the sweet bags I made up are almost gone so started on the biscuits and when they have gone the lights are definitely going out and the witch outfit is coming off!

  51. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Oh how gorgeous! This die set is just so adorable and so, so very useful and differs to other butterflies and dragonflies currently on the market...i love the detailing and how you have combined the cogs etc to create something truly beautiful yet different. I think that even at this early stage of the launch, todays dies could very well remain my favourites because they are just so different from your usual style and really quite inspiring. This lovely card shows just how versatile this style of die can be, it shows that you can create something delicate and beautiful as well as something grungy and distressed.....the pixied background is stunning by the way, i love the colours, and the DREAM lettering is also worthy of a compliment due to its unique shape to the lettering.
A fabulous first day to the launch Sue, congratulations because you have made so many crafters very happy indeed with your creations....christmas lists across the land will be getting extended as we speak:-)
Thankyou for the kind welcome back i have received from my blog besties, i have been absent due to some technical difficulties with my i pad that have now been resolved:-) i thought my absence would have long been forgotten in the scheme of things so i am so sorry Frances that i may have given some cause for alarm, however i am back now, armed and so very dangerous, in fact you will all be wishing for the calm serenity of my absence before long!:-) i promise to behave for the duration of the launch though in order to give Sues new dies centre stage billing, it will be a challenge but i will be strong:-)
Pam, glad to hear that you are edging closer to your operation date, hope you have been well and coping with the rigours of work. I am sadly so far behind with all of the news so please forgive my obvious ignorance but i will try and get up to speed soon.
Carmen....or should i now call you Dorothy!!??!!?.....i have obviously missed something in my absence but i also notice that your profile pic is of a very handsome pair of red stilettos, is there a connection to your new moniker? Now you know how much i love my shoes, however with well over 200 pairs at present i would have to change my own name to Imelda Marcos!:-)
Donita, oh you poor thing, i cant imagine how awful it must be for you having no power or fresh water:-( Surely the utility company must offer some compensation if you go longer than 24 hrs without it? I wouldn’t cope without my daily bath and Sky Tv at my fingertips so goodness knows how you are managing....what has caused it? Is it bad weather?
Myra, hello my dear, hope you are well and keeping your nose clean in my absence:-) I know that between the two of you it is Myra whose the troublemaker though, have you managed to stop her running amok in my absence?:-)
Saba, it sure sounds like you’ve had a busy week, hope you enjoyed your families visit, it must be hard living so far apart but what fun when you can meet up again though:-)
Elaine, how are you and Andrew doing? Hope that you are both wellxxx
Maureen, i see that George is keeping you out of mischief at the moment by testing your skills with a paintbrush, what a brave man he is....brave or foolish though is anyone’s guess!:-)
See you all tomorrow my lovelies, it will be late on as i have an appointment with the hairdresser and god knows i need it!

    Love and crafty hugs

  59. Hi Sue,
Now, I do like these two dies! Very original. Love the card as well. Great 1st day, can't wait for the rest.
Pam, pleased things went well and hope you don't have to wait 18 weeks for your op. Sounds like you had fun on the A19 ( not!). It's a road I really don't like I have to say. A friend of mine used to live in Elwick and to get back home from there I had to cross over the two lanes - honestly talk about taking your life in your hands! I think drivers pariticularly around the Stockton, Hartlepool, Sunderland stretch seem to lose the plot and forget about everyone else on the road!!
Donita sorry to hear about your power problems, hope they're sorted soon.Love and hugs to all, Alison ( craftyAlimecca) xx

  63. Good evening Sue,
Fabulous card, you've managed to make grunge look feminine, not an easy feat but you have cracked it with this one. Love the unusual design of your butterfly and dragon fly, who would have thought a butterfly with cogs would work well together. So looking forward to see what delights you have in store for us tomorrow.
Pam I hope you don't have to wait 18 weeks for your op, that seems like a very long time. Glad all went well with your pre- op assessment.
Carmen I too noticed your fabulous shoes, I love shoes, sadly I don't have as many pairs as Lorraine though. Wonder what size she takes, maybe I could borrow a few pairs.
Donita I hope you are not still wandering around in the dark.

Love anything with pixie powders....maybe steampunk & pixied die cuts. I know that if I buy these, I will be the only one in my crafty bunch to own butterflies with wheels.
Pam, good to know you are getting through the process. Donita? no power as yet because you are not here. Bundle up. It is getting cold.
