Christmas Double Day

Hello bloggers!  I have two fun sort of Christmas cards to share with you today.  First up is a card which uses one of the Stamp To Die For range.  I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card with the Twisted Holly embossing folder for texture.  I cut two of the Garland Edgers with the wide border and the scalloped border next to each other and glued them on to the sides of the card.  Next I stamped the Presents Galore Stamp To Die For in black Archival ink.  I used Distress Markers to colour it in (Festive Berries Tumbled Glass, Forest Moss, Spun Sugar) and cut it out with the matching outer die from the Holly Lattice Frame.  I cut another of the same die out of white card using the decorative die then cut it in half and added it to the edges of the stamped image.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with the oval from the Frosty Frame and mounted it across the stamped image.  I attached the entire piece in between the borders.  I cut Pine Cones out of kraft card, adding white gel pen accents and Iced Snow and cut the greenery out of card from my stash.  I added them to the corner of the card. White and red mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  8 1/4" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

Card number two is a cheerful Gingerbread man card.  I started with the background and embossed coconut white card with the same Twisted Holly embossing folder.  I cut one Lattice Ribbon die out of red card and extended the length on it.  I cut it directly down the centre of it to create two smaller pieces then added a thin strip of red card to both of the cut sides. I glued these along the edges, top and bottom, of my embossed background.  Next I cut three gingerbread men out of tan card.  I used Worn Lipstick through the die for their cheeks.  I added red bows and buttons and white icing strips on their arms and legs.  I used red and white Bakers Twine and tied bows between them and string them across the card so they looked like they were attached.  I cut the sentiment from the set and shadowed it in black and added it to the top of the card seated upon the oval from the Frosty Frame die set.  The card was completed with white, red and tan mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

My Hochanda Industrial chic dies arrived yesterday. They are stunning Sue, so happy with them.
Sharon, it will do you good, Cyorus is a beautiful island.
June Horrocks, sorry to hear you have been ill, hope things brighten for you soon.
June, glad the Duabetic class helped you.
Elaine, special hugs for you and your family, you are a stabilising factor in your family.
Saba, sorry I didn't mean to pry but I'm glad the CT scan result was good. Let's hope they get the problem sorted soon. Might have to start to wear flatties though, those heels can't be good for your back.
Laine, ouch, poor you. Let's hope you are less swollen and sore today and you can have a good nosh. Your outfit sounds perfect for Strictly.
Susan, thanks for the tip about the alternative crackle glaze, will try that.
We have thick frost this morning. My red car looks like it has been glittered with white crystals. Take care everyone.
Hugs to all, especially our poorly and missing friends.

    Good morning Sue,

I just adore those gingerbread designs. As I think I’ve said before, I’m using them to make cards for my class this year. I think they are suitable for those gingerbread people fanatic adults too though!

    Have a good day,

  13. Morning Sue. I love this build up you treat us to every Friday it's so helpful. I must compliment you on your shading and bringing your stamps to life, it's a talent I'd love to own and it's amazing that with the right kind of tools this is the end product, absolutely beautiful.
What a smile your Gingerbread card would bring to the younger generation it's just cute and lovely all in one envelope. I really wish I'd ordered a few of the newest festive dies, as I'm now thinking gift tags for children's gifts and maybe a few for someone's tree ? These I'll more than likely invest in ready for next November market as I'm in preparation for Sunday's market where I'll have to take both all my festive cards plus my every occasion baskets too ! Think I need to hire a removal van lol
I will finish my thoughts of the day with my usual love and hugs and hope you had an enjoyable day yesterday xxx

Yes I go back many years to the other channel! kind of feel these lovely stamps get a little overlooked or not much air time? Hope someone from Hochanda reads this as a stamping and colouring masterclass from Sue would be fabulous for beginners also. x

Think it might be Susan. What a shocker last week Debbie in bottom two. But on the last dance she made mistakes, Johnny didn't so she should of gone think it's a bit fixed with the judges. 111. Love both of these festive Christmas cards but my favorite is the first.
Got home this afternoon . I have been busy catching up around the house but hope to get at my card making tomorrow. I need to finish up Christmas, send several congratulations cards out and I also need to get a special card made for my brother in law’s birthday . I am also in a couple of swaps which I need to have in 2 weeks. Can you believe only a month until Christmas?
    Love to you all,

  112. Two super cards. The second one is fun but the first just edges it for me. I love your colouring on the stamped image and the pine cones look so realistic.

    Take care everyone.

Very late with my comment Sue but it's the fault of those robot thingy's. My low vision kicks in as soon as I'm asked to prove I'm not one of THEM!! If it happens again I'll just give up.
Your cards, as always, are BEAUTIFUL!
    Love to all.
