Just For You

Hi bloggers!  I have another great unisex card for you today!  Add some flowers to dress it up if you like, your choice.  I started by cutting the Infinity Striplet three time, out of black, ruby red and coconut white card.  I backed each of them with a differing colour background.  I picked the background colour of the striplet next to each of them so there was a sort of order to it.  I attached each of them side by side on another piece of card for my background.  For the focal element, I cut the centre of the Lucy die twice out of white and twice out of black card,  I offset the black ones behind the white ones, then offset both of those to give a more circular look to it.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the inside of the Indonesian tag and mounted it in the centre.  White, red and black mats and layers were used to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Hello Sue, such a beautiful card, gorgeous. As you say perfect for males too.
Elaine, I hope you get sorted with the council soon, this is not good for you, you have so much to cope with at present.
Rosemary, hope the med increase doesn't cause any problems, keep going you are a trooper.
Sam, thank you for your kind comments, I have told the GP and she really reinforced the reason for absense and signed her name in that box too. Let's hope they take notice. Reading the comments so many people have been through this with their employers, it is a shocking way to treat loyal staff when they are down.
Laine, lovely to see you back, take it easy, you don't want a setback.
Tres, hoping for better days for you.
I've seen some new names on the blog, welcome to the best blog in the world although I would rather not apply for a loan lol.
Donita, if I didn't know already I would say you had a wonderful way with words.
    Carmen, hope you are okay..
Hugs to all, missing and poorly friends especially.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above. How are you feeling today, sounds like you have a good days and bad days. Have you got a date for the op yet.

Got some clearing up in my craft room today - got a big weekend ahead of me.

What a striking card. Really eye-catching. Great one for the awkward men!
Been awake since 2 and did comment on yesterday's card. Started my comment at 4am and it was quite lengthy. Was feeling very pleased with myself but then it all went terribly wrong and I managed to lose the whole lot! Grrrrr x
Yesterdays card was my favourite from the festive launch. Not usually one to be drawn to cards with such bright and bold colour themes but that just took my breath away x
Sue your new dies really are something else. I will not give anything away as I know there are many on the blog who like to wait for the big reveal. We are in for such a treat and one heck of a launch x
Needless to say, after telling myself that I really don't need any more dies, at all, ever, I want the whole shebang! My crafting this year has been practically non existent but I will not be moved and am coveting each and every one of your new collection x
Pam - when people start to stroke your head, tell you you're a good girl and give you a treat - start to worry! Walkies x
June - I admire your willpower - only a couple pre-ordered - how on earth did you decide which ones?
Carmen - do not be sucked in by Laine's facade. She will pretend to be your friend then drop you like a hot potato! I got sucked in and look at me now x
Laine - trying to replace me? Well I look forward to putting you in your place later on when we chat x
Marie - shaker cards are always a way to use up the glitter. If you truly cannot find inspiration for your box full of sparkle donate it to a worthy cause. I have a neighbour who volunteers for a craft group for cancer patients. Any time I give her my 'unloved' bits she is always so grateful. It is an offence to 'dump' anything, lol. So sorry you had a tough day on Monday. Anniversaries such as these are always so hard. Sending hugs x
    Donita - hugs x
Teresa - they do say leave a little sparkle wherever you go x
Sharon - try checking out Joanna Sheens website for new dies. That said they do seem to be on many of the websites x
    Elaine - hugs x
    Fluffy - hugs x
Tres - sending you love and hugs x
Well I think it's bedtime!!! Lol. This crazy sleep pattern is making life interesting - she said try I ng to put a positive spin on things! I really do need to get some rest to prepare for Laine's incessant whining this evening. It is a tough job but someone has to do it - just wish it wasn't me x
Sending happy thoughts and lots of love to everyone especially my blog besties x
    Take care

PP Grrr it happened to me twice this month , it just flew away and both lengthy posts it is so annoying .Hope you get some rest ready for your catch up with Laine.

Tres, so sorry to hear of all your upsets , stay strong both of you .

Carmen sending you a big hug .

Myra, Maureen and Crewe Trish , a big hug to you too .

Rosemary , i hope you are still not having any side effects .xx

Pam ,Andrew said he was Ok yesterday , well i know by the sound of his voice if he is well or not and he is clearly not well at all , i do feel worried as these last two treatments have been the worse so far and he usually has between 7 - 10 days of feeling something like normal before the next treatment . I hope today he will sound more like himself .
I echo you again today , lets hope your employers get the message and leave you alone so you can get on with getting better , hope you have a good stress free and pain free day .

  60. Dear Sue and Everyone Who Feels Special By Belonging To This Blog,

Okay, Lucy does look good in a full circle like this. And with these three colors, Infinity shows she can rock and roll, baby.

So sorry Tres about the heartache you're going through on top of your recent losses. Emotional pain takes so much energy, so you both will need more rest. Go easy on yourself and indulge in naps.

Today I had my first good day in weeks. Free of pain, able to focus, not dragging. And maybe, just maybe, the heat and humidity are done for the summer.

My strategy for the September launch is to close my eyes, plug my ears and say "la, la, la, la, la," until it's over. How else can I not want everything?

Thanks for the hugs and kind words.

    Love,
    Donita

  61. Hi Sue, I love the Infinity Striplet and I think that I like this card but it is just not speaking to me in the way that your cards usually do. I love the Lucy die in the centre so maybe it is just going to have to grow on me.

Tres - paws crossed for good news for Charlie dog next week and I hope that you and your other half will start to feel better soon.
Laine - you are so considerate of Yvonne but have you seen what she has written today lol Pippin and the girls are well and I do believe there may be a slight thawing in hostilities.
PP - perhaps you should just pretend you are a night shift worker and turn your day upside down but then maybe the boys wouldn't like having cornflakes for dinner or a roast for breakfast :-)
PP & Elaine - if you know you are going to write a lengthy post why not type it in Word saving as you go and then just copy it into the blog. I did this for quite a while even for short posts when my laptop wasn't behaving and erased everything as I was trying to post. It certainly saved a lot of frustration.

    Wishing everyone a good day.

  100. Hi Sue,

I love this card for its simplicity and elegance. It looks easy to make it and I think that comes in handy for those with little skills or experience. A card with striplet only is a winner from the start because all your striplets are so versatile. Lucy is a nice addition for this particular card (and not only), but it doesn’t mean that if you don’t have it, like me, you cannot make this card. Just choose the right shape and place for the sentiment. Thank you, Sue, for making and sharing cards like this one, giving hopes to those who love crafting but are less gifted than you.

Marie – Wish you many, many happy b-days! I have a feeling that your life’s story is very interesting and I am hoping that you’ll share it with us, whenever you want. Glad you enjoy your card classes and you found this blog, where we all share the love and passion for crafting.
Pam – Hope you had a better day and no manager bothered you.
Elaine – Of course Andrew is trying to be brave and telling you he’s better when he’s not. He knows how much you have on your plate, so fewer worries from his side will be beneficial for you. What he doesn’t know is that a mother can feel her child’s pain even no words are said. Hope he had a better day today and tomorrow will be a day with less pain for everybody. Hugs for you all.
Tres - Pets hold special places in our hearts. Wish you better days for the three of you.

Super design. I love the Infinity Striplet. These colours aren't singing to me but like Diane's suggestion of making this design in someone's football team colours.
    Take care everyone.

  102. A really striking card Sue. I just love this striplet. It's my favourite, favourite!! The colours are exactly right for my husband's football team. So, will have to keep this one in mind for his next birthday. Hugs x P Austen

  104. Good morning Sue and all Wilsonetts.
I really love this card and I do like to play around with my striplet dies. ( spellcheck just got me on Wilsonetts and Strplet!)

PP Thank you for the hugs and advice on my stock of glitter.
CCM If I told you all of my life story I'm sure it would be for adults only! lol.

I have made a card for one of my Granddaughters Birthday (not until OCT) and she is a staunch
Blackpool fan so I used their colours on the card, now I sort of wish I had used the striplets so maybe I'll diary it for next year. (maybe I'll have popped my clogs by then eh?)
I made a basic card to take with me to class yesterday and had pre-cut the embellishments on my Gemini to make a fishing card. I did all the matting and then found that I'd left the card at home Senior moments abound!!
