Just For You

Hi bloggers!  A window scene just for you!  I selected a piece of light grey card and embossed it with the That Special Touch Crackle mask by running it through the Platinum machine.  While the die was still in place, I used Pumice Stone Distress ink lightly over the top to add a bit more detail.  I stamped my sentiment on a thin strip of dark grey card and added it to the bottom of the masked area.  Next I stamped the Home Comforts Stamp To Die For on a piece of coconut white card and coloured it with distress markers.  I cut the window out of white card including the half circle rounded area on top.  I used a piece of sticky adhesive on white card and cut just the half circle are and coated it with Iced Flake for the look of decorative glass in the upper window.  I added the window on top of the stamped image and glued the entire piece to the centre of the card.  I cut many of the Spring Foliage out of varying shades of green from my stash.  I glued them randomly across the top of the card to look like ivy hanging from a wall.  I added a topiary from the 3D Window box Accessory set to each side of the window as accents.  White and grey mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Donita, so glad you had a great time on Saturday, thought you would enjoy it. They certainly work hard on the food vans don't they.
Elaine, good thst Andrew was well enough to go fishing. Hope your peaceful nights continue, sleep is so important to you.

Kelly said the puppy is much better, thank you all. They took him fir a walk along the seafront promenade at Seaton Carew. Said they couldn't get far as everyone kept stopping them to look at him, one guy even wanted to buy him, he is a little cutie.

Always love your picture cards and this one with the armchair by a roaring fire is just perfect for a cold, wet August morning!...and I just knew there was a die set that would turn the Birch Trees from a wintry scene into a spring/summer one and the Spring Foliage is it - just gone on the wish list!

  49. Dear Sue and Fervid Followers,

This could also be a Thinking of You card. Maybe the spring foliage in browns could be fall foliage. Then the sentiment could be warm wishes.

Debra K, we did see a card similar to this but it was a door, made with the same dies.

Thanks to Myra and Crewe Trish and Rosemary Powell for looking up my food truck story. Elaine, we use "in stitches" too. Thank you for your kind words. Glad the turmoil has settled down a bit.

Thank you for the puppy report, Pam.

Rosemary, knowing what it is can help them treat it. Do you watch Doc Martin? When the mover showed him a bump on his wrist, sure it was cancer, and asked how long he had to live, the doctor hit the bump hard with a book, and it was gone. I'm not suggesting they hit you in the head or the heart with a book. It just helps to know what it is and what's the treatment.

Well, here we are at Monday again. It just keeps happening.

Wishing everyone the best week possible, and silver linings if not outright sunshine.

    Love,
    Donita

  94. Hello Sue and dear Wilsonette friends,

Lovely card with so many great details. I like the stamped scene inside, it looks so cozy. Even I didn’t have time to comment for the past 10 days, I checked every other day the cards you posted. All beautiful cards as always.

First of all, I would like to congratulate all winners: Donita, Pam, Fluffy Cat, Patricia Y., Elizabeth B., Diane K.,Owlish & PP!

A little bit about my vacation/holiday ... We couldn’t go back home, so we decided to get to know better our adoptive country. We visited Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Kingston, Shannonville & Sandbanks. All beautiful places, nice hotels and restaurants, smiling people everywhere. The good weather gave us a chance to walk a lot, to visit as much as possible with a little planning. The capital, Ottawa. became our favorite place to live in Canada. I will move there tomorrow if, of course, we can find jobs. Each of the above cities, has more old buildings and history than Toronto, are cleaner and in my opinion, safer than Toronto, are closer to European cities style than, again, Toronto. If we won’t be able to move back to Europe one day, at least we have Ottawa as a back-up plan now.

I am pretty sure that the name Shannonville doesn’t tell you much, right? I give you a hint: Sue and probably Donita, know why this small town made our “must to see” list. We had to change a little bit our plans only to get there in time. I don’t know how many of you have had the chance to visit a store that carries all Sue’s dies and stamps. As soon as I saw Sue’s work in person I imagined all of the wonderful things I could make. On top of shelves are displayed cards made using Sue’s dies and stamps; one more beautiful than another. Judging by the time I spent there and the excitement he saw in my eyes, my husband was surprised and happy that I didn't buy the whole store :).It was an amazing experience and for me, the cherry on the cake of this vacation/holiday.

Two more things to add: yesterday on 6th, it was our anniversary, 23 and counting and today on 7th, it was my hubby’s b-day. The plan was to have dinner at a Romanian restaurant, but at the end hubby opted for a quiet and lovely meal at home, which he cooked for the three of us. Of course he got his gift and a beautiful card that I made special for him. We ended our b-day dinner with cake and champagne, as always.

    In this note,
Be happy and healthy, dear friends.
