Hi crafters! Another fishbowl card to share with you! I just love that cat from the
Fishbowl Friend stamp set! I started by stamping the sentiment in black at the bottom of the card on a piece of
kraft card that I added to my coconut white background. I cut an aperture in the card using the die in the
Fishbowl set to fit my
treat cup and then die cut another sentiment and glued it to the top of the card. I filled the treat cup with some bits from my stash (I think they were called Prills) and sealed it with
acetate. I stamped the cat on another piece of white card and coloured him and die cut the fish and seaweed and added them in front of him. I taped the treat cup in place and lined the stamped cat up from behind it to show through the treat cup. I used a white pencil to add some highlights to the bottom of the card. White on white mats were used to complete the card. The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteLoved all your shows Sue, you really do make your shows look so easy and what is so good is that you go through it all step by step, you don't rush your words when explaining (unfortunately a lot of presenters do) and we al know that if we have a problem or are confused about something we can always e-mail you for guidance, looking forward to seeing you again at Ally Pally, got my tickets already, (PS everyone - get your tickets direct through Creative Expressions much cheaper then the venue itself)
I especially liked the cutting down of the rectangle and making it into a square, with the sentiment just fitting nicely over it, did you plan it that way Sue when you designed the dies.

We used to have a goldfish every year( won at the shows!) and our cat would sit and watch it swimming round and every now and then the paw would go in the bowl to try and catch it! ReplyDeleteOn one of your shows you mentioned the impression left by the metal edge of the die. I had this problem when extending the sky portion of the wise men die, I'm sure your clever followers will already have come up with a solution, mine was to cut a piece of grey board to fit inside all the edges including apertures, taping this in place and using 2 full size pieces of grey board, the raspberry plate and cutting plate as the sandwich - worked perfectly.
Really enjoyed your shows. Thanks for the tips, I actually managed to do some piercing this morning, the secret is definitely having the right size pokey tool.
