Festive Collection

Hi bloggers!  Welcome to day seven of our blog launch.  We have two die sets on offer during this post; the Checkerboard Poinsettia Border and the Scalloped Snowflake Frame.  Shown here together, you can see how lovely they work together.  The Scalloped Snowflake frame can easily be used all year round.  The Checkerboard Poinsettia Border can easily be used as a background when cut repeatedly, or as a side border or diagonally as I have here.  I can only imagine all the beautiful ways you will be able to use both of these die sets  for your festive cards and projects.  Two chances to win here if you leave a comment on this blog post.  The next post is scheduled for 12 noon today, I hope to see you back here then.  All for now, Sue x

Beautiful card and dies to start today, Sue. This is absolutely stunning.
Rosemary, i know what you meant but you shouldn't be surprised by the response of the Wilsonettes, whether a newbie (which you are not now) or not, we support all who needs it. I have been very fortunate to experience the caring attitude of the Wilsonettes.
Elaine, fingers crossed all goes well for Johns scan.
Tres, can I add, if you have problems with your arms and shoulders, and you have to move your machine about for space, the Gemini is neater and lighter. I love my ebosser and Big Blue but they tend to be heavy to move. Never mind hints, do a Christmas list like the kids do or sit on Santas knee and tell him.
Funny day at work yesterday, we have a scheme with DWP where we take young people fir 4 weeks and train them to build skills for moving into work. I had a young man yesterday who was so keen he kept speeding on the keyboard, to the point where he crashed my pc system, said the system was antiquated and couldn't keep up with him. He was hard work.
Daily hugs to all, enjoy your day and Sues beautiful posts. Thinking of our poorly and missing friends.

  3. Morning Due. Two really really pretty dies to start the day. I know there will be many gorgeous cards made with these and I'm so looking forward to see them filter through various blogs and social media sights. Another wonderful set that could be used from one festive season throughout the year, now if that's not value for money, then I'm not Steph Cotterill lol. Looking forward to lunchtime and our next treat from you xxx

Gee Wiz, day seven already! Time always flies by when your enjoying something!
An extraordinary duo this morning, the checker-board border was an easy decision, it has just leapfrogged into my top three definite's, it's simply exquisite! Now the snowflake frame, absolutely adorable and as you say useful all year, but with such a plethora of snowflakes to choose from, it's harder to decide which ones to go for! Now if I win the lottery tonight it won't be a problem!!!!
The sheer pleasure that I get from your die launches is in the wondrous choices that you give.

  108. Hi Sue!

Love the checkerboarder! Seems like the flowers don't have to be poinsettias, as others have noted, for other times of year.

A trellis or checkerboard always catches my eye.

My dad used to work for Ralston Purina, which had a red and white checkerboard for its logo. He even worked at the St. Louis corporate headquarters, known as Checkerboard Square. He also had a pair of checkerboard boxer shorts, which we thought were hilarious. And whenever we were on car trips, whoever spotted the checkerboard logo on a sign or grain store got to say, "I saw it first!" Half a century before on-board movies and video games.

Thank you again for the steady diet of eye candy.

    Love,
    Donita

  128. Hello Sue,
This is my favourite snowflake Die set! I think!! Lol!
It's really lovely and looks beautiful with the striplet. You get so much dimension and texture in your snowflakes! They are the best snowflakes in my opinion! Lovely card!
I'm a bit earlier today but not as early as Maureen! That was early for you !! Did you have your head under the duvet with your tablet on! Lol!
Craftysuetoo! - don't worry about trying to keep up just now - it's well nigh impossible!
Anne Crawford - good to see you! I've missed you! Meant to say that the other day and forgot!
Pam - your young " learner" has a lot to learn . He is fortunate he has got you to help him! Patience is a virtue and I think you're going to need lots of it!
Love to all, Myra ( Friend of Maureen!!) xxx

  129. Hi Sue. Ooooh another lovely card !!! I do like your new Snowflake Frame die on your card. I think this is another die set that could be used all year round. For me, the ultimate star of the show on this card is your GORGEOUS new Poinsettia Checkerboard Striplet !!! I adore anything to do with Poinsettia's and this striplet is just stunning Sue. I love, love, love your idea of using the striplet to make an all over background. I can just imagine how gorgeous that would look. I think someone's earlier comment ( so sorry I have forgotten your name) about wrapping it around a candle is a fab idea too !!! This die is yet another "definate must have" for me. Thank you. Sending you lots of love Sue from Tres x x x

Hi Pam. Thanks for your helpful comments about electric die cutting machines. The problem is I don't want to be having to buy a new machine right now, I just want / need all of Sue's new Christmas Dies !!! I will never be a rich person as I have a Sue Wilson Die obsession that there is no cure for. Oh well looks like myself and Steve are going back on "beans on toast " for the foreseeable future !!! Lots of love to you Pam from Tres x x x

I like simple cards, and these dies don't have to be used just at Christmas, as you say, so they would make a welcome addition to anyones collection.

Six dies in your Scalloped Snowflake Frame die set. And this set can easily be used all year for many designs. Yeah! The Checkerboard Poinsettia Border die does work well with the Scalloped Snowflake Frame.

  151. Hello Sue,
Fabulous card, I'm loving all your snowflakes, it's going to be so hard to choose, this one is strong competition for the Art Deco one for me. However something doesn't need any thinking about is this Checkerboard Poinsettia Border, it's shot right to the top of my list and even if it slides down a bit it will still be going into the shopping basket, I love it.

Pam echoing you today, you always say it perfectly. Your youngster will learn!
Dorothy sending you some gentle hugs today.
    Love for all

  174. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a truly magnificent card, achieved using two fabulously designed dies. To begin with I love the EF, it provides the perfect base. The Scalloped Snowflake is stunning and will work well at any time of the year giving it great scope and versatility. The same can be said about the Checkerboard Poinsettia Striplet which is a gorgeous design....an eye catching background could be made with this die that wouldn't necessarily scream Christmas! I will definitely be investing in these components and giving this card a go:-)

    Love and crafty hugs
