You Are So Special

Hi bloggers!  We have a pixie powdered card for our pick for the day.  I started by creating the background by using Sun Yellow, Candy Pink and Rich Red Pixie Powders.  I tapped them on to a piece of coconut white card and spritzed them with water.  I allowed them to dry naturally, then went to work on the front piece.  I used the Olivia decorative die and cut it out repeatedly out of a piece of black card.  I attached it over the pixie powder background for a pop of colour.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Pierced Flags die set.  I used an extra piece of the pixie powder background and cut the Chrysanthemum dies out of it.  I used the pieces to create two flowers.  I seated the flowers on a white satin ribbon bow and accented them with Spring Foliage cut out of black card.  White and black mats were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hazel, lovely to hear that you had a meet up with Tina and hubby, thanks for telling us, hope she is well, she has been through a very hard time over the last couple of years.
Helen, enjoy AP, hopefully you will get to meet Sue and some bloggers, sadly too far for me to come although I would have loved to. Laine too by the sound of it.
June, as Colin relented yet, he may think it is too much fir the shirt time you will be there due to your afternoon commitments.
Saba, have a great party, hope you are not too tired after all the prep, you know he did book the venue and send out the invites, can't say he didn't help lol.
Elaine my daily wishes to you and your family, hope Andrew and Helen are doing okay.
Yes ladies, I do still have a good view of the river, the ancient wooden galleon ship and the swans too. Everyone in the building had to move around, sheer madness, still not settled yet, special desks to move, disabled features etc.
Hugs to all, for those lucky enough to be going to Ally Pally, have a brilliant time. Hugs to our missing and poorly friends.

  14. Happy Friday Sue, how can it not be a happy Friday when this is the first thing you see when you open the door to this exquisite blog ? WOW, it's so colourful, cheerful and happy, and the sentiment is returned ten fold to you. I need to share this with you while I'm on my own Sue, I was sneaky after yesterday's sample and added Lucy and the Crysthanimum to my keepers list, and guess what I'm going to do once I've clicked 'publish' ? Sorry Sue, looks like you're to blame again lol. I'm sure AP will distract you though so don't worry lol have a super fun time, looking forward to watching ALL the CE team do their live shows on HOCHANDA over the weekend just hope Phill gets a working microphone this year, and John gets through without any Latte type catastrophies ! 😕
Sending happy hugs to match your happy Friday sample xxx

Pam, still waiting, he will keep me on tender hooks right up until tomorrow morning, but I think he will take me to AP.

I am jumping on your band wagon and reiterate all your comments.

I used to hate moving around in the office, there was so much upheaval and took ages to get used to it, so I know where you are coming from Pam

  21. Gorgeous card, Sue, love the bright background but can see this with a host of different colours. No pixies, of course, but could use random paper? Fab flower!
Pam, lucky you what a terrific view from your office - my second to last job looked out onto a waste yard with an ancient mildewed double-decker, wasting away. Not pretty. Echoing again.
Saba, thinking of you with all that prep. To use an expression you will be familiar with - guess you will be pooped! Hope there's enough energy left to enjoy it though.

  72. Hi Sue, as soon as I opened the blog I said 'fireworks!'. This card immediately made me think of my favourite firework, the type that keeps exploding from the inside in a great ball of ever changing colours. Because it reminds me of a night sky I think I would use a very dark navy rather than black but it is stunning just as it is. I hope you enjoy your time at Ally Pally and don't get suffocated in the press of Wilsonettes around your stand.

'P' - special hugs for you today. I know you will miss Cloud even though he has only been with you a short time but it is good that he has gone back to what he knows. Saffron sounds a beautiful elderly lady and I know you will do your best for her in the time that is left. Tears for Black Bob, it obviously was a shock and I hope you are coping ok.

Laine - over 200 pairs? Is your other name Imelda Marcos?

To all going to Ally Pally over the week-end I hope you have a lovely time and a good spend-up on Sue's dies and other CE products.

  109. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Pixie powders really do create the most stunning, eye catching backgrounds, mix them with your dies and literally magic occurs. This mix of colours are particularly vibrant and rich against the black card, reminiscent of a burst of fireworks in the night sky. The Olivia die is shown to its best advantage as a result and the Crysanthamums are absolutely beautiful cut from the pixie powdered card. A fantastic CAS card that has the wow factor in spades.
Well, one more sleep to Ally Pally and yes Pam, I am gutted not to be attending:-( I am so happy for the legions of Wilsonettes able to attend and see Sue in person though, i do hope that you all have the most fabulous of times perusing the stands and watching the masters at work in the flesh....not to mention splashing out on goodies galore! I'm sure that you are all prepped and ready to go now Sue but I'd just like to wish you a fantastic weekend amongst your adoring fans....I'm sure that you must be totally gutted that your favourites ie me and Yvonne, wont be able to make this show but we will make it up to you in September and bring a mega supply of white choc fudge and meringues:-)
Feeling so, so tired today, Darcey was up to her old tricks again last night and insisted on crying, and crying, and crying some more trying to get my attention:-( It went on for what seemed like hours, two to be more precise, I tried berating her sternly but my gruff voice isn't very convincing, then I played dead hoping that she would get fed up and go away, and she did....eventually! The bags and shadows under my eyes were pretty impressive this morning, could have done with Rachel and her wonderful Caci facial to boost me up again, instead I had make do with a warm bath and a choux bun for breakfast....indulgent I know, but I am just so worth it:-)
Saba, hope you enjoy your party....I bet there will be a lot of "Prost" proclaimed during it:-)
P, I do hope that you are well and that Saffron is still holding her own. Thinking of you bothxxx
June, I don't think i could stand the suspense, your hubby is such a massive tease:-) Hopefully he will take you tomorrow, and if so teach him a lesson by maxing out that credit card!
Elaine, Helen is so fortunate to have your support, i hope the visit to her GP helped and that she feels better soon. Hugs to you both and Andrewxxx
Frances, are you implying that my shoe collection is as excessive as Mrs Marcos? My dream is to have a pair of Louboutins however Sue keeps bankrupting me by releasing new collections so there's not much chance of that happening anytime soon! Hope Pippin and the girls are wellxxx
Carmen, from one shopaholic to another i can totally appreciate the thrill of receiving a parcel, especially when it contains craft goodies, however i am sure that if you try extra hard that you could be nice even when you don't have a juicy package to open....okay, maybe not, but I can live in hope because I am one of life's optimists. When my Uncle moved to Toronto in 1980 he had to learn French, is that still necessary nowadays? Are you missing your ally Yvonne this week, because you havent been as acerbic as usual? She will be disappointed you know and she is one scary beast when she's angered, I wouldn't like to be in your shoes because she had high expectations of her new lieutenant:-)
I echo Carmens sadness at the news about another victim dying today, my heart goes out to her boyfriend and family who will be devastated.
Hugs and well wishes to all my besties and to those in need of a cuddle.

    Crafty hugs

  116. Hello Sue,

My first thought when I saw your card today was this reminds me of the beautiful Fall leaves at their peak. And what flowers do you see at that time of year - Chrysanthemum in all their brilliant colors. What a perfect match. Those pixie powders just give you an explosion of color I find myself wondering why I have not tried them. A magnificent card.

Hope that you and the rest of the CE team have a wonderful weekend at Ally Pally. For the rest of you, have a lovely weekend.

    Beverly

  120. Hi Sue

I love the fiery colours with the black, and the die is soooo pretty. Big hugs x

To Sue and all those going to AP, have a brilliant time, I shall watch what I can & I'll make it there one day (yeah I know I've said this since 2014 lol).

To those who can't make the distance or whose plans have changed unexpectedly. I say treat yourself, you deserve it. A crafty order will be with you by midweek!

Elaine, I feel for Helen so much & have been thinking about her & her mum. I've learned the benefit of talking to people when it all seems impossible & you've done the right thing taking her to someone who can help. I can't begin to imagine how the poor girl feels & she'll have my continued thoughts, as do you all. Big hugs x

P, biggest hugs xxx RIP Bob xxx Billy sends you big hairy paw hugs xxx

Maria, I hope you feel better and hope all is well, big hugs xxx

Lorraine F, hope you're feeling better too, big hugs xxx

Mr came 2nd place again. Wish they gave out silver medals cos at this rate he wouldn't need to work! He was beaten by someone moving school so he said "look on the bright side, that school will need a caretaker so at least I can apply for that!". Means going back to London in 2 & half weeks won't be a problem. Psych was rather taken aback with my "not my fault" revelation last Tues, that I'd got there so quick (quick? took me 30+ yrs to realise it's my DNA to blame & not me!) I got homework! Activity diary & "mindfulness" excercises. I did tell him that to relax my brain needed to do 3 things at once but I will try it. He's also chasing up when my treatment might be. In meantime am testing new resolve when I tell GP that the meds that got increased got self decreased when several things got worse, not better, not aided by me not being listened to when reporting such symptoms in the months before. I know they'll be times when my thinking won't be so clear but Psych explained why thoughts & feelings get so tangled & how to try get back to clearer thinking. Think what Psych actually did was create a monster! No CCG, consultant or GP is safe from me now!

Did have lovely walk out in the sun on Thursday afternoon with Billy & Mr. We dug out old back brace from years ago when I was flying about on crutches- looks a bit like medieval armour but did the job, Sore today but so much less so than last time I went out in power chair. Now looking for something that suits sitting down more but gives same level of protection so I can help get Billy fitter & begin to get some independence back.

Thank you for all the lovely comments & wishes for Mr, Billy & I last week, sorry it's took over a week to reply. I genuinely believe that those wishes have helped me find my resolve!

Big hugs to all but especially CraftySuetoo, Elaine, P, Izzy, Diane, Fluffycat Frances, Pam, Saba, Lynne L, Pat L- hows Sarah getting on? Give her a big hug from me if you're seeing her during the school hols, June, Myra, Maria, Lynda (with special woofs & wags from Billy), Laine, Princess Yvonne Pixie I, Alison, Nanna Tina, Theresa W, Marg, Lorraine F, Norah & apologies if I forgot any names, I'd also like to send a big hello hug to Carmen too as I've not been about to say welcome to our first Canadian Wilsonette.

This has taken nearly two hours so I'm ready to sleep. Will comment on Tinas blog tomorrow & will try be back sooner then I won't need to write essays!

Happy crafting & hugs to everyone. Have a happy, safe and crafty weekend,

    T x
