Hi crafters! Here's one from an older release that I missed! I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card with the Jacobean Floral embossing folder for texture. I used the Double Pierced Noble Ovals to cut a wide frame. While it was still in the dies, I laid it on the same embossing folder, leaving the folder open, but covering it with the tan mat and several sheets of paper, then the raspberry plate and embossed it as well. I added mounting foam to the back of the frame to raise it. Next I cut the inside decorative die from the Geneva die set in Navy Blue card. I used the ribbon threader die from the Belgian Tags set and cut it in white. I wove a piece of navy blue wrinkled satin ribbon through the tag and then attached it to the centre of the Geneva cut out laying the ribbons outstretched. I attached the frame over the top with the ribbon going under the frame. I tucked the ends of the ribbon behind the card and taped them. I added a double bow to the side and topped it with a satin ribbon flower embellishment and two stick pins. I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the cutting edge die from the tag and seated it in the centre of the tag after giving it a light inking with Stormy Sky ink. I added pearl corners to all four corners. The card was completed with white and Navy Blue mats and layers. The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size.
Don't forget, today is the day!! The drawings for the winning dies will be done and posted later this afternoon! Don't forget to check back then!!! All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for all in the draw today, good luck fellow Wiksonettes.
Maureen, I know you are sad about not being able to attend the funeral but your brother in law would understand and he will be with you always, every time you look at George you will remember him too. Your health is not good enough yet, you must be careful.
Helen, good that the physio is going well, soon have you back to normal.
June, did the craft club ladies delight you then, I'm sure they would.
Well, the Naughty Nine minus One seem to have had a really good time, all the laughing, chatter, shopping, eating and drinking seems to have been a winning combination in spite of missing Maureen, I know she us never far from your thoughts. Myra, you did well to be at breakfast before the last.
Elaine, I'm hoping that Andrew got some positive news yesterday, hugs to you all.

ReplyDeleteMorning lovely. Everyone will agree that YOU'RE THE BEST in our books. Let's face it Sue without you, the blog and all the wonderful tools you bring to us (not forgetting the other wonderful CE family) Julia Lisa Phill and Mr L then where would we go for inspiration, and good quality plus versatile craft goodies ? So this sentiment is flying its way back to you (and im not grovelling because of what day it is Sue has no say in who is chosen to receive a new die) ! It comes from following Sue for a while and without these brilliant dies I'd still be stuck buying decoupage kits lol. This is a stunning sample and I'm so pleased you gave it it's day on the blog ☺
ReplyDeleteSending love n hugs as usual, have an exciting day, I'm sure we will xxx

Well we had a great day at the shops yesterday and returned with several bags between us. There was a run in a certain cardigan and we all wondered when we met for dinner if we would all be wearing it but no. All being well with Maureen and George today I will call in on my way to the airport and give them both a big hug. I have to save my reputation with her as Myra sent her a photo of me with 4 glasses of wine and an empty bottle last night! I was in charge of pouring honest!

Hi Sue, I am an absolute fan of your cards and dies. They are so gorgeous and elegant. But I am having a bit of a problem. I have your range in my store aswell but the ladies in my country find them way too big because it takes a lot of pastage around here to send these big cards. Can you make smaller cards too ? If square with a maximum of 14.5x14.5 cm ? And smaller size rectangle too ? Hope you can help out.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Veerle x
Hi Sue,
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderfully elegant card. I hadn't realised how versatile those ovals are but now I wouldn't be without! Your Swiss dies are so beautiful - the day should have 48 hours and then I could make more cards and get all my dies out (coming to think of it, 48 hours wouldn't be enough LOL)
Good luck with the draw everyone.

Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteI want to say thank you for yesterday's card as well as today's ! I made a long comment yesterday and clearly forgot to press Publish!! I'm clever like that!
I love today's card as it's what I call a " real Sue card!" The ovals look lovely as a buckle and I love that blue ribbon and have used lots of it!
I also love ribbon! Thanks Sue!
I have arrived home safely my driving is not that bad!!! I didn't disgrace myself by getting up late either! Jess was last yesterday! Shhh don't tell anyone! Kept in touch with Maureen on and off over our time away. We did miss her . Saba and her lovely daughter Joanne have left to go back to Cheshire in time for school coming out! Margaret is safely home and Diane has reached Newcastle! So pleased she is visiting George and Maureen today. We have had a lovely time and I can highly recommend Saba as alarm clock!!!
I will read all the news later! Carmen I read your posts!!! Laine I'm a very sober sedate lady, I'll have you know!
Love to all and all the best in the Draw later.
Echoing Pam especially until I catch up!
Love Myra xxx
Lovely card Sue.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous card. The colour is amazing. The bow and stick pins are perfect and thank you for the clear instructions as to how to emboss the frame. I love that effect but always forget how to do it properly and have ruined many an embossing folder with my mistakes x
I know this may be a shock to the system as I am earlier than usual but I think George and I are having a bit of mum/son time tonight with telly and chocolate (and a sneaky Vienetta) x
Fajitas on the menu today. Quick and easy tea already done so the boys can just grab it when they want it. We all like something a bit spicy once in a while!
I had a date with a pile of ironing but had to postpone when I realised that my copic pens had fallen off the shelf and it took me ages to retrieve and sort them out. BORING x
Well the draw is imminent so good luck everyone x
Helen - you must have been a good girl if your physio is pleased with you. Are you always such a good girl? Lol x
Laine - do you really need any more yankee candles? As you know my collection of yankee smellys is very minimal. Didn't realise car share was your bag! Something else to talk about to fill those awkward silences during our phone calls x
June - your craft club sounds like so much fun x
Myra - sober and sedate are not words that Maureen used to describe your good self when we met up!
Carmen - you are so wrong about Laine's reputation. I read your comments so please be careful x
Rose - never enough hours in the day x
Pat - brilliant fund raising efforts x
Maureen - so sorry you didn't make the funeral but David would completely understand. Have you managed to get your butler up to scratch? I will ring you tomorrow as planned and be the sympathetic supportive friend you have grown to love, (after the micky taking re Northumberland Street and your new friends from the RVI) x
Elaine - hope all went well with Andrew x
Diane - would it not have been more appropriate if you had been in charge of stirring in Maureen's absence x
Pam - hope you are feeling more human after getting hold of those antibiotics (eventually) x
For the members of the gang who I have not mentioned, it sounds like you have had such a lovely break letting your hair down. Good times x
Once again good luck everyone. Happy thoughts and lots of love to you all x
Take care

That's our April "meet up" over (far too quickly) we just need to start saving for October. We all had a wonderful time, great laughs, fantastic
spending spree, lots of delicious food and drinkies. However we did miss our Maureen, she will be hearing all about it from
Diane as I type this.
Pam I hope you are feeling better, as always I echo your wonderful summary.

ReplyDeleteSmashing card. And like u said your the best :-) lol
Good luck in the draw everyone x x
I absolutely love this deep, rich blue against the lighter cardstock! Truly magnificent creation! TFS!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon Sue. Oh this is what I call a "Sue card! " It's gorgeous. Good luck to all the lucky winners, there will be lots of running around and jumping up and down this afternoon I think!
ReplyDeleteThat's me not long home.i think most of " The Gang of Nine" minus one will be home or in Diane's case she will be telling Maureen all about what we got up to. I love driving and it's a pleasure to drive the Scottish ladies to our meet up. Norah was exhausted last night all the shopping she did and late nights. She wasn't doing wheelies this time but still got around on her wonderful little buggy.
Now if any want to see "The Gang" press on my little picture and it will take you to my blog and I have popped a few photos up.

Hi Sue. Love the colours of the card today, very smart. I must have another go at embossing with the die still in place as the result is so effective.

Thanks Helen Terry xxx
Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous opulent card. The embossed noble oval makes a beautiful frame for your focal point. I love the big blue bow with it's floral embellishment and jewelled stick pins. Your Jacobean embossing folder seems to be favourite of yours lately and I'm not a bit surprised. Thank you Sue.
Elaine I hope all went well for Andrew today.
Pat L what an amazing amount raised for such a well deserving cause. Wishing Sarah all the best for her appointment tomorrow. Please let us know how she got on please.
Carmen, Laine should be very worried, we read every word you write!
Yvonne enjoy your vienetta, hope you got your bit of spice!
Myra wakey wakey!
Well it was sad saying goodbye to everyone today, in fact the goodbye hugs and kisses took so long one of the hotel staff jokingly said if we took much longer with it it would be October and we might as well just stay. Had a text from Diane, she is having a lovely time with Maureen and George, hopefully his coffee will have sobered her up!
Love and hugs for all xxx
Saba
oh i do love the navy blue. this just works, hugs xx
ReplyDeleteGood evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
ReplyDeleteA typically fabulous offering that contains many of my favourite elements, not least the silk ribbon and accompanying stick pins, lurvely:-)
Navy and coconut white is such a clean, crisp combination, well suited i think. I don't mind admitting that on first read through the instructions I was slightly confused, how can you emboss the oval frame whilst its still in the die without cutting into the EF? I think that i will have to go through the instructions again to see what I'm missing....Simple in its concept, this card is stunning and well worth its day on the blog, glad you turfed it out Sue:-)
I'm going to try and keep it short and sweet today because I am pooped after a long afternoon having my nails soaked off and re done along with my Mum...had a laugh talking about everything from The Thorn Birds and Falcon Crest(very Eighties I know!) , to how many siblings Henry VIII had and whether or not Mary Queen of Scots husband, Lord Darnley, was gay....very highbrow, I know:-)
Was crushed upon my return home to discover that I hadn't won one of Sues dies from the Blog Launch, then I realised that since I am undoubtedly Sue's no.1, it would appear to be a fix if I were to be named a recipient....besides, I am a winner each and every day when i pop by to see the wondrous card Sue has shared with us, it brightens my day in a way that is hard to define or achieve elsewhere so thanks so much for the daily gifts you give to us, they are so appreciated:-) Oh, and a hearty congratulations to all of the lucky winners, enjoy your gift.
I was getting a taxi home this afternoon when we started chatting about our cats, as you do, and I mentioned that Brodie was a Bengal. It's a small world because the taxi driver lives close by to us and said a Bengal was terrorising his cat who is old and blind in one eye, by sitting on their window staring her down and making his presence felt...sounds like Brodie:-) He said that its comical to watch and starting happening at the same time we started letting Brodie out, sounds like he may be the culprit and sure enough, the driver positively ID'd him. I told him to spray Brodie with a water pistol to deter him, however I've tried that in the past and you have to move like lightening to catch him:-)
Elaine, hope Andrew managed to get his treatment today and is well.
Naughty Nine, glad you had a fab time boozing , eating and shopping....I can safely say that I excel at at least two of these disciplines so why not extend an invitation my way in October, I would be a more than suitable candidate....I saw the photos on Hazels Blog and its lovely to put faces to names, you are certainly an attractive and respectable bunch, not the selection of miscreants that I had imagined:-)
Myra, sober and sedate ? You, my dear , are neither by the sounds of it, evidence in the form of an empty bottle of vino proves my point! Any excuse for a piss up more likely:-)
Carmen, you may be right, nobody reads my commentary apart from you and Yvonne apparently, and strangely, neither of you hold me in very high esteem either.....
Yvonne, do you love George enough to share with him your Vienetta? I seriously doubt it:-) Give poor Maureen my love tomorrow and be gentle with her, we both know that a conversation with you can be mentally challenging and i fear that the poor dear doesn't have the necessary stamina yet:-) Why did you think Car Share wouldn't appeal to me I wonder?
Hugs to all my besties, too many to mentionxxx

Shame Maureen couldn't make it. Pam hope you are beginning to feel better and echoing all your comments.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. What a beautiful card !!! I do love this one. Your Jacobean Floral Background Embossing Folder is great and I love the Noble double pierced ovals, I think the ovals are quite an elegant looking shape.
