Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hell there bloggers!  Today's card giveaway is a pretty done in brown tones (just to be a bit different!).  I started by cutting an aperture in a piece of coconut white card using the Tahiti die.  I embossed the aperture piece using the Jacobean Floral die set for texture.  I added mounting foam to the back to raise it for dimension.  I cut another Tahiti die out of taupe card and used the inner cutting die to create a frame out of it.  I backed it with chocolate brown card and used the inside die from the Tahiti set to cut detail into the centre of the brown card.  I backed it with white and recessed the entire set into the aperture.  I stamped a sentiment and cut it out with the smaller centre hexagon and seated it on the larger hexagon as a mat.  I tied a ribbon around the bottom of the card using white frilly edged ribbon and tied a double bow.  I cut several of the Striped Nasturtiums out of taupe card and used the outline cut in chocolate brown and glued them together.  I created three flowers and seated them around the focal element, adding bits from the Family Tree die set as accents.  The card was completed with white taupe and chocolate brown mats.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  9" in size.  Leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this one.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Gorgeous card Sue, just perfect for a Wednesday Guveaway card.
Elaine, hope you got sorted with Amazon, just what you don't need at the best of times , never mind what you are dealing with now. I hope Andrews visit to the Consultant goes well, sending comforting hugs to you all.
Laine, good news about Mums mammogram, just need the same from the Colonoscopy now.
Glad that the Nine minus One arrived safely and nicely settled in. I bet there was lots of lovely chatter, laughter and more than a glass or two, raised to Maureen of course. Have a great time everyone, wish I was a fly on the wall to watch it all.
Cheryl, you will have a wonderful catch up time with Bryan, enjoy yourself. Your Wardrobe role sounds exciting and exhausting.
Maureen, hope you are starting to feel better now you are home and that all goes well for you and Geirge. Take care and rest as much as you can though.
Sharon, hope you are feeling better and have got rid of that nasty flu bug.
Weather sounds really wild outside, take care everyone, wherever you are.
Hugs to all, especially our poorly and missing friends and all Carers too. CreweTrish, a special hug for you and your brother, Mum too.

Echoing Pam as usual. Pleased the Naughty ones are having a great time.
Laine, the first piece of good news for your Mum, hurrah, hope the second likewise. Hugs for you, too, yes okay here and Saffron seems very happy though the tumour is growing. Bit of a waiting game - what is so upsetting is that the person who handed her in and had been feeding her for yonks (well, years) - though not claiming ownership - could so easily have sought vet help at an early stage. Finance was not an issue, just don't understand it.
Looks like a sunny day for most of us - enjoy.

This is my favorite everything. Tahiti and Nasturtiums, chocolate and taupe, bow, Jacobean floral. And Tahiti is my favorite favorite. Thank you for letting one of us win it.

I like this one better than the one with black on the flowers. The chocolate looks so much better. That one had two of the lattice edger going diagonally.

Best to everyone, and what Pam said.

The gang of nine minus one - Pleased you have a great time, ladies!
Laine – Glad that your mum's mammogram was clear. Fingers crossed for the other results.
Broadchurch – No, I didn’t expect a happy ending for the Latimers. Is it not disappointing to find out what a 16 years old boy did? 16 only! I wonder if Trish would have known who did it would have gone to the police? Based on her reaction, probably not.

  118. Hi Sue

    2nd post today, sorry.

Just seen last nights post from Yvonne (princess Pixie) so thought I'd reply.

Physio went well thanks, in fact so well she's given me excercises and wants to see me in two weeks time now. So that's good.

I too am a big fan of Peter Kay's car share. Lasts nights was really funny. Shame next weeks in the last in this series. I can't believe how something so mundane can be so funny. Although saying that, my father in law popped round last week when it was on and just didn't get it. He kept saying, is he a taxi driver? Why is his back window dirty?

    Love Helen xxx

  133. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Yet another real treat for the Wednesday giveaway, a true Sue classic, all that's missing is a stick pin!:-) The more I see of the Pacific Ocean Collection the more i love it, the Tahiti die is stunning particularly cut from the chocolate brown and taupe card. The colour palette is lovely though personally i would have used milk card rather than coconut white....just a personal preference, not because I think it would be an improvement. The EF and striped Nasturtiums deserve a special mention, they may not be the main player but we all need a strong supporting cast behind us:-) Thanks for choosing yet another fantastic sample as your gift this week, we are a lucky bunch!
I feel cream crackered tonight and almost didn't comment but then I gave myself a good shake because Sue NEVER has a day off so why should I expect one! Besides, today's card is such a beauty that it was only right and just that I made the effort to actually tell Sue.
Like the Naughty Nine, I too had a spot of retail therapy this afternoon and spent an eye watering amount of dosh....my large Yankee Candle Jar Candle sadly burned its last breath on Monday so I felt impelled to stock up on tarts , votives, tealights and reed diffusers in scrummy scents such as rhubarb crumble, pink dragonfruit and black cherry, mmmmn! We then made the mistake of going to M&S where they had just released their new summer range of food, the desserts are to die for and included orange profiteroles, Portuguese custard tarts and peach cheesecake, plus their other ranges were delightful, our fridge is bursting at the seams!
Elaine, hope Andrew had the good news he deserves today, sending hugs to you all.
Maureen, what a shame that you couldn't manage the funeral but its only to be expected given your injury...Ive fractured my pelvis before and the pain is excruciating when you try to walk, I developed a way of swinging my entire body round holding on to furniture as I went rather than taking actual steps, I think that a zimmer is the logical alternative though:-) I hope George coped as best he could with the upset of the day, it must be doubly dreadful losing a twin given the closeness generally between them. Sending love to you bothxxx
Diane, shockerooney, Myra makes breakfast thanks largely to her alarm clock Saba I take it:-) Nice to hear you had a jolly first night though, it must be hard not having Maureen with you, Myra must be completely out of control by now:-) I'm guessing some of the hard stuff is being imbued during your stay, I am so jealous and fully expect my blog status to be recognised by your October break and a formal invite to be in the post forthwith! Just think, we could be the Terrible Ten..:-)
P, when I hear stories of animals being abandoned when their 'owners' deem them to be a burden or inconvenience it really angers me. Saffron deserved better treatment in the past, I am just relieved that she is now being cared for in the manner she deserves by a kind, considerate and loving individual, her last days will be happy and content as a result:-)
Yvonne & Helen, i love Car Share too, Peter Kay is a comic genius! Loved the monkey strapped into the backseat with a seatbelt, when he had a wee all over Peter I almost wet myself with laughter, brill!:-)
Carmen, yes, you felt sorry for the 16yr old rapist because he had been coerced into the act, Leo was the real danger/predator.....it shocked and disturbed in equal measure but that is what I find brilliant about it, I will miss their double act, they had great chemistry on screen. Oh, and by the way, I am NOT jealous of Yvonne, if anything I pity her and her insatiable need for attention so I would appreciate it if you didn't give my fellow Wilsonettes the wrong impression, I do have a reputation to maintain!:-)
Sending plenty of hugs to my besties and anyone I may have forgotten, you know I love you allxxx

I am going to be brief as it is so late. It was Apprentice Appreciation Night so the girls came round. Normally I manage to chuck them out about 10.30 but we were obviously enjoying each others company more than usual as we suddenly realised it was 11.20 and we had hardly paused for breath x
I will confess to not having read comments but will send happy thoughts and lots of love to you all especially my blog besties x
    Take care

  143. Hello Sue,
What a stunning card, love the combination of colours, chocolate brown compliments the taupe beautifully. The Tahiti die is one of my favourites, it always has the wow factor as a focal point. Add a beautiful bow and the striped Nasturtiums to the mix and you get sheer perfection. Thank you Sue for being so generous.

Well ladies, we have had a wonderful couple of days together with laughter all the way. We've shopped till we dropped, stayed up far too late, shared the odd bottle of something nicely chilled ( well the less sensible ones of us anyway) and have collectively talked the hind legs off the donkey. Maureen has never been far from our thoughts the whole time and we have missed her more than we could say. Thank you for your lovely comments and good wishes for our meet up. Rest assured the gang of nine will be back!
Maureen sending all my love to both you and George, may God bless you both and comfort you in the days to come.
    Love and hugs for all
