Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  Today's card giveaway offering is one of my favourite cards.  I started with a piece of milk card and cut the Tahiti decorative die into the centre of it.  I added a black shadow before adding a backing of Antique Gold card.  I cut two of the Trellis Edger out of milk and added a black decorative edge.  I added them on the diagonal to the top and bottom of the card with pearls on the trellis area.  I cut the Pacific Ocean Tag in gold and backed it in milk and added a black shadow behind.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with the smaller oval from the set and added a black mat with the larger oval.  I cut several Striped Nasturtiums out of milk card and covered the card with Enchanted Gold gilding polish before adding the black outline to each of them.  I accented with Family Tree cut up and used as foliage around the flowers.  Milk, black and antique gold mats were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8" in size.  Leave a comment to be entered into the drawing to win this card.  All for now, Sue x

  5. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, a truly wonderful card for us today, you do spoil us with your giveaway cards, would love to win this one, your so good. I love the trellis die and it looks so good on this card, oh yes got to make this, added to my list.

Pam so good to have you back, are you back at work yet, I always used to find it hard to get back into the swing of things following a holiday.

Elaine, fingers crossed that Andrews appointment went well, it is good that Helen is eating too, special hugs to you all.

Carmen I hate to think of you, or anyone else who lives abroad, missing out because of the postage costs, let hope that Johanna Sheen can come up trumps for you.

Shame you can't make AP this year, you were both so funny last year, but understand Scotland it is a long way to come from and you are feeling unwell, so special hugs.

I am still hoping that OH will take me on Saturday, although if he does it will have to be a short visit as we have things on in the afternoon that we cannot get out of, so fingers crossed (I think he is coming round, just keeping me on the end of my seat).

Special hugs to everyone who needs them, yes you know who you are. xx

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  12. Good morning Sue. I can see why this is a favourite of yours and it's a good job that you make more than one sample of each card, there is the very rare occasion when I make a market card that I really like, I mean really like if that doesn't sound too modest, but it's like one every blue moon as the saying goes. It really is beautiful, one that you have to sit and look long and hard at to take it all in, your photography always makes your samples look pretty no matter what your design is, CAS or the true SW we love with bling, bows, and your signature stick pins, but as card makers we also know that in 'real life' our work comes to life, and all the little details and beautiful sparkle show so much better and whoever is really lucky to hold this gorgeous work of art will be blown off the planet by its sheer perfection all your samples have, all we can do is hope ☺
Looking forward to seeing your new beautiful samples when launch begins, and 'the list' has once more been removed from the keepers bedside drawer ready for update (his move not mine may I add) so I'll finish as I always do with a hug and a thank you for today's beautiful giveaway and hope your big heart is rewarded with a lovely day xxx

Looking forward to Ally Pally. I've just received my ticket as I wasn't sure I'd be up to it because of my shoulder, but I'm going to give it a try. Will probably have to wear my sling for support as it hurts when I walk, but it is definitely getting better. I am going on Saturday as I don't want to experience extra long journey because of engineering works on the tracks like last year. Hope to say hello to any Wilsonettes.

Welsome back Pam, glad you had a good time away. June did us proud in your absence. X

Wow!!! This is such a beautiful giveaway card, the trellis edger looks fantastic on the diagonal but with those pearls it takes on another dimension - have to try this. I have been playing with the trellis edger today but didn't dome up with anything nearly as fabulous as this !!!
Carmen, I buy from Joanna Sheen sometimes and if the order is over about $18 here in Australia (9 pounds sorry I don't have the sign on keyboard) the postage is free, it is very good because it usually means that you buy an extra treat and postage is free,

  106. Hello Sue,
I'm like everyone else here today - just adore this card! It is beautiful. I love everything about it . The only Dies I have out of all the ones used are the floral ones! I just love the colours and yes - it deserves to be framed! I can understand why it's a favourite of yours . It's gorgeous! Thank you for being so kind as to give us a chance of owning it!
Carmen - the English language is funny !! Believe me Saba splashes out rather a lot! Don't tell anyone!
Sandra is counting sleeps to Ally Pally - like Patricia I wish I could go too but it's too far without staying overnight for probably two nights!
We used to " count the sleeps " until Father Christmas came! We didn't start in January , you know! It was a way of getting us to bed as well!! Is that how you started Sandra?
Take care Everyone! I seem to have missed a big cat fight somewhere along the line! Is Brodie ok? Hope so.
Tres - lovely to see you and sorry about Fudge! We do miss our pets too.
    Love to all, Myra xx

  128. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Well, you have chosen a truly fabulous card to gift away this week Sue, it is perhaps one of my most favourite examples of your work for some time and I am just so appreciative that you have decided not only to give it its day on the blog but to also part with it. This card is perfection, it features my favourite colour palette and some of your best dies in recent releases....the Tahiti die is sublime but the star of the show for me is the Trellis Edger which adds a class and sophistication with its little pearls adorning the trellis detailing. The striped Nasturtiums are superb highlighted with the gilding polish and add the perfect finishing touch along with the foliage from the Family Tree die. An absolute triumph that i would dearly love to adopt...greedy I know considering the size of my family already, but this is such an exceptional card that I can't resist:-) Good luck everyone!
Almost didn't comment again today but Sue's card was so spectacular that i felt it a crime not to tell her. Yesterday i had an altercation with a particularly nasty beef curry, paying the ultimate price for my folly i was unable to comment and retreated to bed early. Still feeling fragile and not my usual fabulous self:-), so apologies if my comment doesn't challenge the word limit, normal service should be resumed tomorrow.
Myra, yes, Brodie has been asserting his authority and marking his territory again by coming to blows with Ginger Boy:-( He gave worse than he got so no lasting damage done to either cat thankfully but I do think it rattled him a bit being his first real fight. Thanks for asking honeyxxx
Frances, Ginger Boy hasn't reappeared since the incident, I think the prospect of bumping into Brodie is a real deterrent.....you're right, the sound of a cat fight is awful and frightening, they are alarmingly noisy and the fur flying could stuff a large pillow:-)
Tres, I am so, so sorry to hear of Fudge's passing:-( It is one of the hardest things that we will ever experience when we lose a fur baby, the pain is palpable and the hole they leave behind is ginormous....my thoughts are with you as you come to terms with your loss, take carexxx
Carmen, sorry that I havent been my usual self but even you must find it difficult to abuse an injured party?:-) Give me another 24hours and you can resume full bitchy mode and tear me to shreds again.....thanks for noticing my absence, if not because you cared, rather that you missed your regular punch bag and scapegoat:-)
Off to watch a programme about Marilyn Monroe, her belongings are being auctioned so it should be fascinating....I've always loved her and soak up any information on her voraciously.
Hugs to all my blog besties and those in pain, suffering or caring for a loved onexxx

    Crafty hugs

  131. Good evening Sue,
I don't know what it is about this card that makes it so extraordinary, whether it's the colour combination, the gorgeous dies you've used or just the general composition but what I do know is it's fabulous with a capital F. I am totally in love with it. However you can bear to part with I do not know. Good luck to everyone in the draw, someone is going to be a very happy bunny.

Elaine I'm not surprised you don't know whether you are coming or going at the moment, you've had such a lot of worry lately. Try and have some "me" time to charge your batteries.
Tres sorry to hear how sad you have been over the loss of Fudge, hope you have some lovely photos and they help with your pain.
Laine so glad you are back today, it was a bit of a worry. Glad Ginger has taken the hint and Brodie seems none the worse for defending what is so rightly his. We used to have a beautiful Balinese cat and she could scare the pants off anything when riled. We called her Schätzle which means little treasure. My OH wanted to call her Miststück which is really not a nice thing to call anyone. Literally translated it means piece of poo. Poo being the polite version. They quite quite odd with some of their sayings and even call small children it sometimes when they are being mischievous. I think Schätzle knew though, she was never very fond of him!
Myra you know full well I only splash out when absolutely necessary and Handbags, shoes, and Sues dies are to my way of thinking all part of life's necessities.
    Love and hugs for all
    Saba xxxx

This is a goreous card. I can see why it is one of your favorites. The added pearls to the trellis gives an elegant look to this card. I was working today on a design of yours lifted from pinterest. I was hoping for a similar look, but my USA sized card of 5 x 7 only allowed for half of your card front design. Not quite what I was hoping for, but what I did put together looks awesome. Thanks for the inspiration.

  137. Hi Sue,

It's definitely other WOW today. I can see why is one of your favourite cards. I love what you have created using the Tahiti decorative die and the Trellis Edger; it's stunning. The flowers are so beautiful. And the pearls … I cannot picture the trellis aria without them. When you have designed this set of dies did you know how beautiful a card will be by adding pearls? I think so. Every die that you've created proves your talent and meticulosity.

A piece of art for the giveaway! Good luck everyone! I wish to be the lucky one!

Elaine – Send to you all extra hugs at this sad times. You are in my thoughts.
Tres - Sorry to hear about Fudge …When the pet you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.
Pam, June, Muriel K., Maria – You are right, J.S. is shipping free worldwide. However, customers in countries other than the UK, will receive a separate invoice from the carrier. Purchasers are responsible for any duties and/or taxes levied at the point of entry of the destination country. I will give it a try. My Bunny will pay for it.:)...I hope!
Myra – Thank you for the tip. Now we know a little bit more about Saba! Counting the sleeps ... on the 3rd she said “5 more sleeps” but yesterday, a day later, she said only 3 more sleeps. All I know she is very excited. I wish I could go too but it's too far for me. On the other hand the 9th is the most important day of the year, my son’s b-day. I wouldn’t miss it for anything in this world. His b-day card is ready!
Saba – What do you prefer the most? The handbags? The shoes? Sues’ dies? Be honest.
Laine – Oh,”my victim” is back! How nice of you to grace us with your presence. I could read between lines that the old you is less than 24 hours away. I feel the urge to be kind today (keep reading to find the reason), so take your time my dear. You know where to find me.:)

On a happy note: I got the order today!!!In other words my Sue’s dies collection is growing! I have to make a few cards for Easter (I'll use Sue's Kinetics Collection Easter Basket).

Sending hugs to you all (no exceptions),
Still a newbie to Craft / Not longer the newest, but still the only Canadian Wilsonette
