Sunday 9 April 2017

Congrats

Good Sunday morning all!  I am away at Ally Pally this weekend so there isn't a Comment game winner list to post until I return, but I found this pretty card in one of my files so I hope you will be okay with this until I get a chance to post the winners.  I started with a piece of milk card and embossed it with the Butterfly Dreams embossing folder.  I have to admit that it didn't end up showing through as much as I thought it would so this could easily be skipped if desired.  Next I cut the Mauritius die twice out of Antique Gold card and cut them in half.  I glued the cut edges of the die to the outside edges of my embossed piece, slightly overlapping at the corners.  I added a faux frame to it, but cutting strips of black card and gluing them to the edge of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and cut the centre die from the Charlotte die set to add a decorative frame to it.  I used the Double Pierced Noble Circles to add a matching pierced black mat and seated it in the centre of the card.  I completed the card with milk, black and antique gold card mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

It was lovely to read the comments from the AP ladies, it seems a good day was had by all. Fir those that are going today, you will be in for a treat.
I only saw a couple of shows on Hochanda, spent most of weekend in bed with a chest infection, so dizzy and unable to stand so feeling very sorry for myself.
Hope everyone is well, hugs to all, especially our missing and poorly friends, guess I come under that this weekend.

  5. I don't think I can describe how I see this sample to compliment it enough as my usual - beautiful, gorgeous etc are not enough. I just sat and smiled as it loaded onto my phone. What I didn't smile at was hearing that you wasn't well. It's not often we hear if this news Sue so I hope today brings a better day for you, it must be so hard to spend all weekend meeting and greeting, doing demo's etc and not let it show but knowing you a little as we do via listening to you and watching you, you'd probably 'brush off' how you really feel !! But just in case you're feeling really yak today I'm sending lots of love n hugs and hope you feel a little better and hope you can either start and rest soon or are off non one of your lovely well deserved holidays ☺

  7. Hello Sue,

What a clever way of using the Mauritius die, showing off it's versatility. How you have used it today changes the whole look of the die. I can visualize it with Diamond Sprinkles.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling up to par, do hope you improve quickly.

  9. Morning Sue. A very elegant card with rich colours of card. Could be for a special occasion or just a very special thank you card. Hope you had a lovely time yesterday but sorry to hear you are not well. Please take special care of yourself today as there is nothing worse than having to meet & greet people and do all your demos when you are feeling under the weather. Hope you get to have some R&R when this weekend is over or get to have a lovely holiday and just relax and spoil yourself. Take care Sue.

  20. Hi Sue - a gorgeous card in complimentary colours. I bought the milk colour card yesterday at AP as it was such a pretty delicate shade and it goes perfectly with the gold. I hope you feel so much better today Sue - I would never have known you weren't feeling great yesterday, you hid it so well. It must have felt a very long day for you. Your cards looked spectacular and your demonstrations were amazing - just wish I hadn't been pushed for time and could have stayed longer. Sending you my very best wishes and hope you feel far better today. Love from

Thanks for keeping us fed even when you have big productions to put on. Maybe they will let you sit down for your demos, or take part of the afternoon off, or both, or the whole day off. Might be worth preventing a longer illness.
Same with you, Pam. Rest, rest, rest, and rest a little more.
We don't want either of you pushing it until you come down with something serious.
Yes your fans will be disappointed, but you give so much. We could give a little, too.

  46. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, another beautiful card for today, fantastic.

It was such a pleasure as always to see you again at Ally Pally, as I am disabled I managed to get in at 9:30 (1st one through the doors) so was able to come and see you first for a quick chat before the main body of crafters arrived,m it was lovely to hear about your New Zealand cruise. It was such a shame that you are feeling poorly, as always whenever I passed your stand you were chatting and demoing all the time, the advice and inspiration you give to others knows no bounds, nothing is too much trouble, I am proud to call you my friend.

Pam, now what have you been up to, chest infections come on very quickly as we both know, you know what to do, take care and if necessary get to the Drs. tomorrow or ring MEDOC (not sure if you have that were you live but it is a service which advice over the phone and if necessary get you into another Drs. pronto) and they will help you. Take care my friend.

I was only able to stay for an hour at AP but if you have not seen them yet, Sue had her new Dies and stamps etc. for sale, they were going like hot cakes, so lovely to see.

Special hugs to everyone who needs them especially Elaine, Andrew and Helen, hope you get the help you need.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Well what a wonderfully opulent card I find to greet me on my return after my holiday in the Isle of Wight (with an annoying absence of Wi-Fi)!
I have missed the blog and was very worried that I would miss the blogathon featuring your amazing spectacular stunningly extraordinary new launch - so happy it is still looming and I will be able to savour every moment with admiration and pure joy x
I am at present wading my way through unpacking and a huge mountain of washing. Thank goodness for the beeeyoootiful weather. The sunshine is on hand to dry my heavily fabric softened laundry and it is smelling divine - small pleasures x

    Hi Sue,
What a fabulous card, made using one of my favourite dies in such an ingenious manner. And I shall adopt the "faux frame" technique, if you don't mind. Saves SO much card and gets rid of the strips which I'm accumulating all over the crafty den.
Enjoy your Ally Pally day, it looked busy there on Saturday....

  70. Hi Sue, love milk and antique gold together it is such an elegant match. The Mauritius die is lovely and this card shows it off beautifully. I was sorry to learn that you were feeling below par yesterday but carried on regardless, you are such a trooper. I hope you are feeling brighter today but please take care of yourself.

    PP - Welcome home!
WheelyBad - I was sure that I left a comment for you yesterday but it is not there so I guess I must have had a senior moment. Sorry for Mr W but his spirit is great and there will be something for him soon I'm sure. Glad you had a nice walk in the sunshine with Billy, good for both of you I should think. Really hoping that the doctors can help you now that you have had some psych sessions. It is a disgrace that some doctors don't listen when you discuss medication, my sister has the same problem. Hope you continue to improve.
Pam - pleasse look after yourself, these chest infections are becoming too frequent. As Izzy said, the office musical chairs probably haven't helped.

I am jealous of all those that have lovely sunshine today, enjoy! It is very dull and overcast here and Norah's hills are semi-shrouded in low cloud but at least the breeze is helping to dry the washing.

Pam so sorry to hear you are feeling unwell too, hope tomorrow is a better day for you.
Littlelamb sending you get well wishes too, so many coughs and colds going round, both Patricia and Jess are suffering and poor Myra's cough is still bothering her, I'm keeping well away from the lot of you!
It's been an exhausting couple of days for me, the Party went really well and yes there was a lot of prosting going on but it very late when we finally got away and the clearing up the day after was hard work. I'm flying out tomorrow morning for my UK visit, bags are packed ( plenty of space left for crafting goodies to bring home), alarm clock set and bed for me very soon.
I hope everyone who managed to go to Ally Pally had a wonderful time.
Love and hugs for all especially our poorly ones.

  87. Hi Sue. I love all the lines on the Mauritius die, they look so Art Deco, but what looks really pretty is they way they have been made to overlap on this card. Fab colours too.

  89. Hi Sue
Wonderful cards over the last few days. It was lovely to see you yesterday at Ally Pally. It was a shame that you had been so ill before gand while you were in and coming back from Australia. Hope you feel a bit better today.

Pam, hope your chest improves quickly. It's no fun getting such frequent chest infections.
Echoing Pamagain today as it's late and I need some sleep.
    Hope everyone enjoyed AP.

  91. Hello Sue.

Great Card. I like how you have used the Mauritius die, it looks like a good technique. I also like the classic colour. Thanks for sharing.

  95. Hi Sue and everyone

Sorry it's late, worn out from yesterday. This card is lovely. There's that Mauritius die again.

It was great to see you again Sue yesterday in your element helping everyone who came to your table. So sorry you have not been well. I said that you looked well and that you had lost weight. Little did I know you had been and were still poorly. You were a real, trooper though, you had many including me foooled. Would love to hear about your recent travels, sounds lovely, apart from being unwell obviously. I am still amazed that you can remember who everyone is, myself included.

Pam, sorry to hear you're not well. I hope you feel better soon.

Maria I am so sorry I missed you. I was looking for you, but didn't know what you looked liked. I managed to say hello to Sandra again but it was late and she told me you had left. I hope you had a good time. Yes perhaps we could try again in September! I didn't really enjoy it yesterday, but it was only because I was in pain and frustrated by my shoulder. I took your advice and wore my sling, but I still got barged into quite a lot. So I felt a bit sorry for myself. I didn't get there as early as I'd have liked either because I didn't realise the buses didn't start running until 7. More frustration at not being able to drive as I usually park at the station. I bought an embossing folder and some gilding polish and a few gems and stamps. Not as much as normal, but I would have struggled to carry more anyway. With hindsight, I should have probably waited until September. It was a bit much for me really. However, seeing Sues samples was great, especially the ones using the new dies.

I'm sorry I've not read everyone's posts properly yet. I hope all who went yesterday and today had a great time and bought lots of goodies, and those that didn't enjoyed the shows. I have them to catch up on too.

    Sorry for long post.

    Love Helen xxx

  96. Hi Sue,

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling too well. I really hope you will soon feel better. Just sending a little get-well sunshine your way because you’re always a bright spot in our days.

Very elegant card today. I love the colours and the way you have used the dies.

Pam - Sorry to hear you're not well. Maybe you should see the doctor. I hope you feel better soon.
June – Glad you got to AP and had a good time.
Elaine - Sending hugs to you all.
Maria – What are trying to do? Where did you get the idea that Laine is my friend? :)You know how miserable Laine felt without PP.:)I just couldn’t pour more salt on her wounds ... But friends?:)
That makes two of us? Maybe we’ll have a nice surprise and find out that another Canadian joined the club?!
PP/ Yvonne – Welcome back! Hope you enjoyed your vacation. Somebody missed you more than you think. You know who :)
Laine – Time for you to come back.

Everyone seems to have enjoyed Ally Pally! Maybe I’ll join you in September!

Lovely day here: nice weather, great time with my 2 favorite men ... It was my son b-day but since he started exams (he had already one on Friday and one on Saturday, 3 more to go) we took him out for lunch only. The cake and champagne will follow in 2 weeks, when he’s coming home.

    Have a great week everyone!

  98. Hi Sue

At first I was put off by the colour of the card which did not appeal. However, it is worth looking a little closer at the elements and thinking about how I would apply these in a different colour.

    Thanks for the ideas
