Fancy Heart Shaker Card

Hi crafters!  Here is a lovely card that uses the new heart treat cup shapes!  There are actually three heart dies that work with this shape and this video will show you the Jewelled Heart die set in action!

  1. Beautiful card Sue, it's gorgeous.
Welcome to Heidi, as our ladies have already said, you have found the best blog ever.
Carmen, good to hear the Kid is doing well enough to visit. His girlfriend sounds delightful and a real keeper. They are both so strong.
My best wishes for his health and their future together.
June, I did know about your sisters, I was the eldest of 6, four brothers, then Mum had my sister a year before she died. My Nana brought up my sister from 3 months old as Mum was so poorly and we were to young to cope with everything. She only lived a few minutes away so we saw her every day.
Girls, you are so right about the grandchildren, such joy, my eldest Luke is nearly 20, so handsome and a lovely young man and my only granddaughter Rachael, 14 is gorgeous, as are the twins.
Helen, hope you are feeling more comfortable bow stitches are out, physio, I think you were right with torture but necessary, hang in there.
Elaine, hope Andrew got loads of rest. Big hugs for you all. Hope dr appointment went well for you.
Hugs to all, especially our poorly and missing friends, TinaT and NannaTina, Norah, Yvonne, Wheeley, missing you gals.

Loved this card when I saw your video on you tube, it has everything !
Real crafting weather at the moment, so much rain, we haven't had rain like this in mid coast NSW for ages, everything is starting to look green again. I have even managed to get a couple of cards made, lets hope it keeps up for a little while.

  11. Morning Sue.
My first thoughts about this sample was it looks very regal and opulent and the design of the heart is sooo pretty Sue. Although it's a brilliant 'gift' to give to that special couple, you could colour theme the heart and it's contents for those milestone anniversaries maybe. I've not watched the 'how to' yet but it's the next on my to do list, what a chore - NOT ☺ so before I indulge myself into the four walls of your YouTube studio with a hot large glass of latte,I will send my usual hugs, and hope you have the most fantastic day either there or here or maybe in between ??!! Xxx

You really are a talented person Sue to come up with such creations from your dies and stamps, I feel honoured and privileged to be your friend.

Pam, you like I must have so many memories of when we were growing up, I know whenever I get together with my sisters we talk and laugh so much remembering, that is one of the good things about coming from a big family. I have 4 grandchildren, boys are 21 and 14 and girls are 15 and 5, they bring us so much joy.

Elaine, hope Andrew has rested up and is feeling much better. and Helen keep up the physio, believe me it does get easier.

  30. Wow what an outstandingly lovely card, Sue, that heart die is so pretty and love it all - curled corner, sentiment, floral element. Guess it would work just as well without the shaker. Do like that you are using a little mirror card - even if you do give it a bit of distressing! Video, as ever, really appreciated.
Thanks Pam, echoing again. Such a tragedy for your family losing your Mum, and what a lovely Nana.
Heidi - welcome, love your expression - Sue's card today also "sent right through all my fences".
Hugs for Laine (my grandmother-in-law always said I had plebeian tastes, make of that what you will!!) And for Carmen - what an inspiration the Kid and his girlfriend are.
    Happy day everyone.

  36. Beautiful work Sue ,i wish i had money to buy all your lovely dies.

I am waiting to have my back assessed whatever that means ,but as the walking stick does not help i will take anything. Andrew is doing just fine , hopefully another treatment on Thursday.

Pam ,so tragic losing your mum but thankfully your lovely Nan kept you all together, My john lost his Mum when he was 5,his two sisters 3 and 6 months of age, his dad had lost one leg in the Somme war , he found he could not cope and so had the girls put into care , sadly they lost contact as the years went on ,however after years of looking for them we found them , one living not too far away and one in Wales , all of them being in their 30s. We all meet up for family parties and get to see each other quite often now and always talking of times gone by .
I will jump on your wagon again today if thats alright.

Sending the usual hugs to all

  53. Dear Sue and Awestruck-ettes,

OK now you're starting to get through to me on the chrysanthemums. Love that tipping with gold. Might not be much longer before I succumb.
Am I just cheap, or does it seem like a waste of good mirror card to emboss a whole sheet and then just let two tiny bits show? I sometimes wonder if, when you're matting your layers with really nice card, you sometimes cut out the middle so you can use most of the paper for something else -- since only the edge is showing anyway.
Today I looked right at 1 a.m. East Coast (of U.S.) time and didn't see the new card. Took me a few to realize we went on Daylight Savings over the weekend, so I need to look at 2 a.m. Now.
One of my assignments during Tuesday's near-blizzard is to go see if the surfing enthusiasts are out there riding the storm waves.

Enjoy your Tuesday moments. Thanks for the glorious jeweled heart.
    Love,
    Donita

  95. Hi Sue and everyone

What a wonderful card. It's so majestic. Just lovely. Unfortunately I have not watched the video yet... but fortunately I can look forward to watching it tomorrow. I love the embossing folder it goes perfectly with the dies used.

Pam I am feeling more comfortable now the stitches are out thank you, the bruising is nice and colourful now too. Definitely agree the physio is worth the pain and will help in the long run. To June, Izzy, Pat and Myra thanks for the comments. I think I have it easy compared to what you had to go through June, I think the upper limbs are easier to cope with than the lower ones. I have had pain and impaired movement for so long I can't wait until I'm healed properly. They've told me it will be a long haul, but steady progress is better than it getting worse like it was. Thanks to all those who echoed Pams comments too.

Today's card is so opulent, and definitely a wow card. I love it. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the video, and a great tip about backing the treat cup although like Myra I think I would prefer it without a treat cup. The chrysanthemums look fabulous tipped in gold, they are my new go to flower at the moment.
Pam bless you it must have been hard growing up without your mum, glad you had your nana to care for your sister.
Elaine what a lovely ending to a sad beginning, so pleased John found his sisters.
Donita it makes me shiver just thinking about your weather let alone surfing, hope you get a good piece to write up.
Trish I hope Elissa has a wonderful trip to Cologne, it's beautiful. Think I can guess which company your daughter works for, yummy.

  97. Hi Sue,

This is a stunning card! Simple but elegant and sophisticated! Love the colors. The gold tipped chrysanthemums is a nice touch. A card with an embossed background is a winner for me!
It would work just as well without the shake, as ‘P’ in Wales said. It still has lots of beautiful elements to be a gorgeous card.Thank you sharing and for the great video.

Pam – So sad to hear about your mom. When I was very young I thought that Moms live forever. The life is not a fairy tale for everybody. I think your Nana was as special person and for sure you inherited something from her: the kindness and care for others. As I said before, when I see your comment on the top I know that the day will be just fine. Thank you to be here every day!
Heidi – A warm welcome for you from Canada.
Elaine- Hope you’ll feel better. Hugs for the three of you.
Laine – Are you still playing with your new toys?
PP - Wishing you well. Hope you’ll be back soon.

Starting today I am the happy owner of some of Sue’s dies: Striplet Timeless,Corners Square & Triple Gemini -Pictor! I am planning to make a few small cards and these dies fit perfectly my needs. They are so pretty. My wish list becomes longer each day.

    Have a great day everyone.
