Butterfly Heart Background Card

Hi bloggers!  Even though our Fluttering Heart die set is part of our new Fillables range, I wanted to demonstrate that it can easily be used without a treat cup to create a beautiful card or project.

The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  10. Morning Sue. A beautiful sunrise and a beautiful sample of just one idea how to use your new fluttering heart. The background is so adorable, the blue so fresh, I'm really looking forward to watching the video whilst my patient naps during the day and I grab a quick half hour to catch my breath. In sickness and in health as we promised 37 years ago.

  12. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, stunning, love the card today, and all those butterfly fall away bits can go into a shaker card too, brilliant, I have got to try this one.

Pam totally agree with you about John demoing Sue's products, he is always a pleasure to watch.

I had a lovely afternoon tea yesterday with my (knee replacement) friends from the hospital ward, we all commented on the fact that this was the first time that we had seen each other dressed!!! - also to talk about our experiences, I thought I was way behind with my recovery but no I am up there with them all, so that made my day. What a lovely bunch of friends they have all turned out to be.

Special hugs to everyone who needs them, yes you all know who you are. xx

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  87. Sue, this is a pretty card. I really wish you would make some dies that coordinate with your other dies to fill in the backgrounds though, like with the faux quilled leaves -- have a separate die of just the solid shape to put behind the detailed die so we can easily fill in detailed dies. Would give us a second way of using your first die.

  99. Hi Sue and everyone

A gorgeous card, and good to see the heart die doesn't just have to be used with the treat cups. I have been missing since having my shoulder op on Thursday, and there have been some gorgeous cards, even a two-for and a couple of videos to catch up on.

I would like to say a HUGE Congratulations to our lovely Sue for being awarded Best Craft Blog. I'm glad to see that you have the official recognition of all your hard work, talent and generosity that we Wilsonettes have known for a long time. I hope that you are still on cloud nine. You definitely deserve it. X. Sorry my congratulations are late.

I would also like to say a huge thank you to all who sent me good wishes, it meant a lot. Pam blowing a kiss instead of a hug was so apt! Thank you. I ended up having to stay in as they could not get my heart rate down or get on top of the pain. It was probably for the best though. Unfortunately, the medication and anaesthetic exacerbated another health problem I have so its been pretty miserable. However, I have been for my first physio session today and am feeling much better, so it's onwards and upwards as they say.....

Just to lighten the mood.... it could only happen to me..... on the day of my admission I travelled by bus to the hospital.....only the bus crashed into a car. No one was hurt, though a man did end up hitting the windscreen and falling to the floor. Selfishly I was so relieved that it wasn't me as it would have been agony. He was up straight away but must have been bruised. I did manage to get to the hospital on time after getting another bus but I was worried I wouldn't.

Anyway I'm glad to be back here. Happpy belated birthday Tracy (sorry can't remember if there's an e) . Congrats to Heather for the card giveaway, and to the comment game winners too. Hope you feel better soon Yvonne once the antibiotics kick in, and anyone else who is not well or suffering. I have some blog catching up to do.

    Love Helen xxx

  107. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a fabulous, inspirational video, i really enjoyed watching you weave your magic and create such a visual treat. This card is exceptional, i love all of the dies used and i am happy to say that courtesay of a very generous Yvonne i actually have the Fluttering Heart die:-) i will definitely be recreating this little gem because every element of it sings to me, everything from the essential bit of bling, to the beautiful butterflies to the colour palette is just exquisite and perfect in every way. Thanks Sue for yet more much needed and appreciated inspirationxxx
It has been all go here today, plenty of visitors, some expected, some not so much:-), so i have been kept on my toes most of the day....bang went any good intentions at getting stuck into my every increasing list of cards to complete, i guess tomorrow is another day....
Julie Laz, welcome back, hope that you are fully recovered from your ordeal, hugsxxx
Helen, glad your operation went well, hope the recovery is swift...poor you being involved in an accident on the way to hospital, at least there were no casualties, take care.
Yvonne, next you'll be telling me that you have the bubonic plague! I mean, these extreme tall tales of injury and illness are starting to sound suss.....if you don't want to speak to me then just man up for goodness sake!:-) I know what you're going through though honey, I'm a martyr to my ulcers and mouth infections:-) , I do hope that the antibiotics kick in soonxxx
Carmen, you are right, i am my fathers daughter, never know when to shut my mouth:-) So sorry to have pricked your conscience but why should i be the only one crippled by guilt at not doing nearly enough crafting to warrant all the money i spend on dies and stuff?
Frances, your departed Princess was beautiful, what a lovely colouring and coat, they may be gone but we never forget do we? What colouring are your current babies? How is the diet going and the Dreamie restriction?.....I'm too soft, Brodie just walks all over me but Darcey wouldn't thank you for one, she prefers whiskas treats. Hope hubby is wellxxx
June, you did make me chuckle and it reminded me of the occasion when my Mum was waiting in a busy doctors surgery waiting room when the GP entered and exclaimed how she didn't recognise her with her clothes on!:-)
Maria, good to see you back honey, hope you are keeping well.
Lynda, sending you hugs, hope that you are wellxxx
The Naughty Nine, hope you are all behaving yourselves ahead of your meeting, you have the reputation of the entire blog on your shoulders girls:-)

  108. Hello Sue,
Thank you for another brilliant video, I just love the way you sweep all the bits from the dies onto the floor, makes me feel at home! The fluttering hearts is just beautiful both as a focal point and as a background, yet another reason to buy it. The cascading butterflies is top of my wish list now, they look gorgeous on your card used as decoration, AND I think I'm only one of the naughty nine who hasn't got it and hate to feel left out!!
Patricia and Hazel glad you had a lovely time and managed to spend lots of time talking to the lovely John but please stop tempting me with new products.
June well done girl for keeping up with the rest of the knee ladies, it must have been hard work though.
Julie Laz hope you are starting feel better and in less pain.
Elaine, big thumbs up for Andrew.
Yvonne please don't get the bubonic plague! Hope your antibiotics soon kick in. You'll have to talk to Laine sometime you know!
Donita thanks for the geography lesson, now we know where to find you.
Helen, glad you are feeling better but next time please take a taxi.
Pam thank you for keeping us all updated.
    Love and hugs for all

  109. Hello Sue,
I watched the lovely video hours ago and I keep being interrupted! What a lovely card! It's blue and white for a start and the delicacy of the butterfly hearts is stunning! The touch of black , too, makes all the difference. Looking forward to what John has to show us on Friday/ Saturday of your new Collection on Hochanda! Will a few Sue cards be included in the lovely samples! ?
Thank you Sue, for your inspiration - liked your topand necklace too! Lol!
June - I meant to say yesterday that I hoped your lovely tea would go well and I forgot! I'm so glad it did and that you are all up and running and thankfully fully clothed!!!
PP - Ouch - sorry about the abscess - hope it clears up soon! x
Helen - Wow its bad enough going to Hospital for an op without having an accident en route! Poor you! I'm glad you are feeling better and that the poor man who hit the windscreen got up unscathed!
Lorraine - please don't keep mentioning Harry's wonky nose! He'll get a complex! I know it's hard to be tactful but do try! Lol!
How are you? Bubonic plague - wow, that didn't happen yesterday!
    Maybe I'd better go!
Love to all , including, Tina's all three of you! Elaine and Andrew and Helen.

  110. Sue, love today's card. The cascading butterfly die is lovely, made a card front using it today. So between your video and John's demo yesterday I have great ideas for other cards.

  115. Hi Sue,
A lovely card again. Thank you for the great tutorial. It helps to see all the steps involved in creating the card. This would make a beautiful wedding/ anniversary or even a Valentine card if you use a read & white color combination.

Pam – Thanks for your update.
Elaine H – It’s good to hear Andrew is doing well. Hugs for both of you.
Diane Green – A little bit cold is not going to scare your daughter. She’s young. Are you ok to let her go so far away?
Yvonne /PP – So everything has an explanation! It’s good you got to the bottom of the problem.Get well soon.We need the old you back.
Laine - I found out by accident that Broadchurch returns in Canada as well. I watched it on Sunday (season 3, ep.1). I don’t know how I managed to miss the whole season 2!
I am wondering if a sharp tongue can give you mouth infection or it is all the way around ...

Sending my love to all my new friends … on the wings of the butterflies

Love this die and the other two heart fillables released in January. Having used these loads now it would be really handy to have some of the straight edge hearts to fit just behind the biggest one and in between the centre heart and the next one up to give option of different colours being added but also so there can be a constrasting bigger die behind the lattice heart die set as at the moment the largest die in the sets is the same size as the lattice heart. I'm not very good with cutting straight lines with scissors so would be fab to have some more layering hearts to work with these three new sets.x
