Thanks So Much

Good Sunday morning all!  For today's card I was having a bit of a play with the black micro beads and ended up with this black and white card (again sorry for the rather greyish tinge to the pics!).  I started by cutting the Butterfly Frame out of white card, leaving a wide border, but cutting the centre out of it.  I covered a piece of black card with a sticky adhesive sheet and just cut the centre out of it to create a frame.  I peeled the backing off and attached it to the back of the butterfly frame.  I coated the top of the frame, which now had the exposed adhesive, with black micro beads for a textural look.  I added mounting foam to the back to raise it for dimension.  I used the centre from the Scalloped Lattice Frame set B and cut it in white and backed it with black card and seated the frame over it so it was recessed behind the opening.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the oval from the Mauritius and then used the decorative part of the same die to create a small tag for it to sit on in the centre of the frame.  The card was completed with white and black mats.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Stunning card Sue, it's so lovely seeing the new dies showcased.
Tina, I wish Owen the best of luck in his new job, maybe a new challenge is just what he needs right now. You take care too.
Elaine, I hope Helen's back problem resolves itself soon. They have gone through so much this past year.
Dragonsnap, I love baby Lola's name, it's beautiful. Didn't Barry Manilow have a song about Lola. Enjoy your holiday with your friends.
Donita, you described your visit to Dad perfectly, I wanted to be there at those craft clubs. Next time perhaps . You are probably right about Robbies trip to the Grand Canyon but the boys have it all planned out, just hope Robbie gets plenty of rest during the travelling. He won't be phased though, he is so determined. Thank you for kind words yesterday they were lovely.
Lynda and all, I do wrap up well when going out as it is so cold, thank you all for your concerns.
My hugs to you all, especially missing friends.

  6. Sunday Smiles to you Sue.
it's a lovely way to start the day, wake up my phone at 6am in anticipation of what will greet me and I'm rarely disappointed. Unfortunately I don't have these dies, and before launch I was determined that I would concentrate on all the Nobles I don't have as you addicted me to frames ! I still really need em, but you've just tempted me with such amazing new collections I have to re-evaluate what will sell and what will make my 'regular' customers smile, in time though (I hope) these will be a part of my stash. Micro beads, it's been far too long since I used mine so once I get back into my craft room I will wake them up from their hibernation. It's a really beautiful sample Sue and as always in real life the effect will look stunning.
Was thinking of you even more so recently, as I know it's been the first anniversary, so I send loving hugs and thoughts your way. Thank you for bringing daily inspiration with the perfect start to my morning xxx

  25. Dear Sue and fellow fans,

Between this and Saturday's card, I like Saturday's better, but maybe because I don't have these dies or microbeads.
Spent the day with my cousin at the gem, jewelry, fossil and mineral show.

Saw an amethyst geode the size of a hot tub. A slab of lapis lazuli the size of a television. An avenue of amber. Asked the price of a tanzanite and diamond ring. It was $13,000, and he asked how many we wanted!

Can't keep my eyes open. Used them hard all day. We'll see a little more Sunday.

Enjoy your Sunday and get some rest.

    Love, Donita

Hi Lynda's craft's, my knee is getting there, it aches sometimes but is no where near as painful as it was, thank you for asking.

Elaine, another 5 or 6 weeks for Andrew until the treatment is finished, fingers crossed it is good news. Helen I know what is like with a bad back, please take care and do as the Dr. tells you.

Tine and Owen, good luck with the new job, after 17 years you will certainly notice the difference.

Donita, the Grand Canyon sounds such a wonderful place, sadly I doubt if I will ever get there (unless my lottery tickets come up haha) but I do enjoy looking at the pictures and hearing about peoples experiences. The craft classes sound fabulous, lots of new converts.

Special hugs to everyone who need them, yes you know who you are.

I'm a bit late this morning as we had a bit of drama in the night and ended up ring NHS 111. Everything is fine but I struggled to get back to sleep so I've just finished the ironing.

Baby Lola is gorgeous. My husband and I could only think of the Kinks when we first heard it but then my friend said she was singing Barry Manilow and it totally changed our perspective.

  99. Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
Well flower i love this card whether it be in the cream and black that i am seeing, to the last picture showing the white and black in it's true form, another 2fer card. I love that butterfly frame, it is so pretty and with the scalloped lattice of the shadow box in the background. The black and white looks so chic, but the cream and black looks homely and comforting some how. THank you flower for a bonnie card to brighten up a rotten miserable wet day.
I have just watched a pigeon taking the daintiest of steps down the seam of the felt roof across the road and its standing at the top of the gutter wondering whether it should take off or just drop. Poor wee thing it looks so sad, but it's turned and went away back up the seam, not faltering to either side. It reminds me off when we were children and big children that walked along the kirb as if it were a balancing beam, and you tried to keep up there until your brother pushed you off and you would have to start again from the start because your stupid head couldn't let you just step back on it where you were.
Pam, Robbie is a marvellous young man who has defeated aversity and came back more determined than ever, i hope that he has a great time at the Grand Canyon and enjoys every site he sees. Your family are so proud of him and what he has achieved and he deserves that pride as some would have just lay down and decided a wheelchair was their life now. Whenever you tell us about what he is doing now, i get a warm feeling inside me just with the pride that i have for him and he doesn't even know me, but he is just so of an inspiration. He has to take pictures of his trip so that he can look back on them later in life and the fantastic adventure that he had.
Well sending hugs to Tina & Owen, good luck in your new job Owen, Elaine, Andrew & Helen and to all my lovely wilsonette friends that need, want or could do with them,
    love and crafty hugs

  114. Hi Sue, I love the Butterfly Frame and you have made a very striking card with it. I was not aware that there were black microbeads but even now I know I won't be buying any lol. I love the design and will try something similar using a different colour background and colouring my clear microbeads to match.

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday.

  116. Hi Sue, This card is gorgeous !! I'm loving the use of the black micro beads, it's a shame we cannot see the 'full' effect of the shiny beads, but we can see a couple of glimpses of the texture and shine, gorgeous !!
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Love today's card, especially like the Stitched Lattice and the Butterfly frame. Funny you said about the colour as on my iPad it all looks like black and cream until the last picture which looks black and white.

How fabulous this card is. Beautiful butterflies and I think it is simple but incredibly stunning. When I get my cascading butterflies I might have to have this background as well. Oh decisions decisions x
I am sorry I didn't make it yesterday. It became apparent that my day of catching up on little jobs was not going to go as planned. I had lots of friends popping in all day. Being fabulous for the benefit of others all day is incredibly tiring so I was ready to climb into my bed quite early x
Today has been a long day as well so I just wanted to pop in briefly.
Tina - wish Owen good luck for tomorrow and I hope it all goes well for him x
To everybody else happy thoughts and lots of love especially to all my blog besties x
    Take care

  146. Hi Sue. WOW !!! This card is so gorgeous !!! I got the Butterfly Frame Die for Christmas and I had actually planned to make a card with it tomorrow before I had even seen your card today !!! I had already got the die out and all the bits I needed !!! I love the black micro beads you have used. I was thinking of using a periwinkle blue card backing covered with a sticky sheet, with a coconut white butterfly frame, and iced snow glitter to fill in the exposed areas. I love how you have used the scalloped frame in the centre and the Mauritius dies for the sentiment. It is all gorgeous !!! I love the colours you have used to. I really love both black and white and black with cream colour combos. I think your card is very classy and elegant !!! Thank you.
I have to say I really loved yesterday's card and video to. It is really beautiful Sue. Such a wonderful creation. The video is fab and I love your idea of cutting two of the matching tag dies into the background and using a third over the top containing the sentiment. A great colour combo to with beautiful Nasturtium flowers !!! Thank you for sharing this beautiful card. Sending lots of love to you Sue from Tres x x x
