Thankful For You

Hello there my crafty friends!  I thought I would show a card made from the latest release today.  I started with a piece of milk card and embossed it with the Jacobean Floral embossing folder.  I used the Enchanted Gold Gilding Polish over the top for a soft gold shimmer.  Next I cut the Azores die set twice out of milk card and backed it with milk.  I cut both of them in half down the centre and added mounting foam to the back.  I attached the cut edge to the sides of the embossed background, two on each side and then cut a strip of double pearls in cream down the centre and attached a row to the edge of each side.  Next I cut the Gemma die in both milk and wisteria card.  I used both decorative pieces for the milk die cut, but only used the outer die for the wisteria card.  I offset the wisteria behind the milk, which showed through to the solid wisteria centre.  I mounted this vertically in the centre of the card.  I cut the Atlantic Ocean tag in milk and backed it with milk and seated it horizontally across the centre.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the centre from the tag.  I cut another centre out of wisteria and offset it behind the words, then added it to the centre of the card.  I tied a double bow out of some matching wisteria ribbon from my stash and added a scrunched flower made from the Striped Nasturtium die set.  I inked the edges of the flowers with Chic Viola Colour Cloud ink and seated it in the centre of the bow.  The card was completely with milk and wisteria mats and layers.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Laine, good to see you back. Of course we have missed you, I'm sorry that you have been so poorly with seizures and migraines. Hope you are feeling much better now. Although the idea that you had run off with an aging sugar daddy did cross my mind.
Elaine, hope Andrew continues to feel better, hope Helen us also on the road to recovery.
Tina, have you got rid of that nasty cold, take care of yourself. Hope Owen is enjoying his new job.
Okay June, you can give the run a miss for this year, next year maybe.
Dragonsnap, sounds as if the holiday is going really well, it brings back some lovely memories of when Tim and I were there.
Cheryl, good luck for the production, bet it is a wonderful sight, you should be so proud.
Tracey, September will be here before you know it and such a special thing to save for. You have come so far, not long to go now.
To the gang of 9, you have given us so many laughs about your antics, you are a wonderful bunch of ladies.
Donita, hope you got home safe and well.
Hugs to all including all of our missing friends. Nirah, Yvonne, Wheeley, missing you.

  7. Hi there Sue. Oh my word this is just beyond stunning, a true Sue Wilson card if ever I've seen one. This absolute beauty deserves more than half a dozen words ! What a start to the day or what ? As soon as it loaded I took a sharp intake of breath, and if course for all you do, for your endless inspiration and big generous heart, the sentiment comes back to you 🌼 The background embossing folder, the amazing borders, the subtle colour and the oh so pretty lilac bow just smiles and says "look at me" well I have and you're sooo pretty.
Thank you for starting my Monday with a smile Sue, sending my usual hug your way for an amazing craft blog xxx

  16. Dear Sue and all of you,

So beautiful! Love the bow, the scrunched nasturtium, the die cut in half and its inside turned outward. The gilding polish probably looks elegant in real life, as it is, just the mention is delicious.

Thanks for asking about me. Yes I got home late Saturday night. It was good to be back in the cold again. Of course my down coat was packed in easy reach, with gloves in the pockets. My cat, who hadn't let the cat-sitter see him even once in 13 days, meowed for me on the other side of the door and has been touching me if not lying on me every minute since. He is so soft, and such a love!

Back to work Monday. Hope I remember how to do it. I don't remember when it happened, but my disposition has sure improved. Before I left, I was fed up with nearly everybody. Sue, your January release was an extended delight of my vacation.

Somebody said yesterday that this group is a wonderful family of friends. Well put! I think so, too. And Thank You, Pam, for expressing so well the hopes and concerns of so many. Welcome to our new friends, and congratulations to the recent winners.

    Love,
    Donita

I managed to make a couple of cards for male friends yesterday and as men are so difficult to make cards for, I have decided to try and get a couple of months ahead with them if I can so that the pressure is off a little and I am not struggling with only a few days to go before I need one.

It has cooled down here a bit today, the main thing is that most of the huge fires are under control, unfortunately there has been loss of homes but not lives which is so good. Such a stunning card I love everything about it. Like Lynn I would never have guessed you had used the Azores die to create the borders, it took me ages to work out where you had cut it and had to keep flipping back and forth between a picture of the die set and your card before the penny finally dropped. Ingenious and really shows the versatility of your dies. The Atlantic Ocean Azores and the tag set were already on my wish list, they have just shot to top. Thank you.

Pam thank you too for your lovely comment about our gang of 9. You've probably noticed we tease each other relentlessly but I assure you it's all taken in good fun.

  114. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

I have been so looking forward to seeing your card samples using the new release dies, you never disappoint....it really helps me to prioritise which i want to splash out on first. I didn't recognise the Azores die, cutting it in half and using it as a border is ingenious, your dies have so many possibilities and uses but i rely upon you to help me think out of the box with them...i do have some imagination however i loathe cutting your perfectly designed dies and sometimes need a push. I love the colour palette of this sample, the white on white with just a splash of wisteria is sublime, the messy bow is a welcome addition.
I abandoned any thoughts of going out in the scooter today, weather was Baltic and far too unpredictable...besides, I don't currently own a set of thermals, I'm avoiding them because it would signal my acceptance that i am now middle aged:-)
So instead i decided to help my Mum make a cottage pie from scratch...i say that, but in reality i was given the job of veg preparation which involved ALOT of peeling and chopping and very little actual cooking. We ended up making enough for two batches so it was a good job that it was tasty and comfort food at its best.
I was so chuffed that so many of our Wilsonettes lovelies had noted my absence, Theresa, Pat and Diane, thanks for the warm welcome back.
Frances, thanks for your kind thoughts too, they were much appreciated, hope you and hubby...not to mention Pippin and the princesses, are wellxxx
Donita, the only time a cat showers you with attention is when you've been away so enjoy it while it lasts:-) Then it will be back to imperious disdain and actively ignoring you!
Pam, Gang of Nine, i like it, it sounds vaguely threatening or illegal like a prison gang or mobsters...
Elaine, hope you're Dr's appointment went wellxxx
Maureen, i would say thanks for the offer of 'lending' me your topless toyboy but i was told by a reliable source, Yvonne, that he currently resides under her stairs and will remain there for the foreseeable future so really, if truth be known, he is not really yours to give. I demeaned myself by begging Yvonne for his services but she quite rightly stated that I wouldn't know what to do with him if i had him longer than 5 mins:-)
Saba, yes, i did notice that Maureen only offered him on a temporary basis but i am sure that i have a number of persuasive attributes that would challenge his allegiance to her....youth, charm, beauty and charisma to name a few!
Myra, are you aware of your good friend Maureen's sideline as a Madame? I'd watch her if i were you:-)
Yvonne, hope you are well and ready to enjoy your jaunt to the Theatre this weekxxx
Hugs to all my blog besties, including Tina T, Maria, June and Tracyxxx

    Love and cuddles,

  122. Hi Sue and everyone

Ow, what a wonderful card. I too could not work out which die you had used at first. Ingenious. I love the colour scheme and the bow too.

I scrunched some die cut vellum nasturtiums while watching TV, but not glued them yet. Intrigued to see if they look like Sues vellum ones did or just a mess.

Laine so sorry you have had a rough time lately, though I'm glad you know you were missed and great that you have come back full of humour. X

Donita, so glad that you had a great time away and have come back refreshed and happy. X
