Finishing Touches

Hello everyone and welcome to the final day of the launch!  We have a full day of Finishing Touches!  The first post is showcasing the Cascading Butterflies die set.  This set has been designed to give you not only five beautiful butterflies to use on your creations, but also a pretty outline that can be used as well.  This die set works great for quick clean and simple cards too.  I know you will find so many uses for it.  Leave a comment to be included in the drawing to win this die set.  Don't forget that the winners will be drawn and posted on the blog on the 6th of Feb in the afternoon, you won't want to miss checking that list to see if you are among the winners!  The next post will be online at 12 noon so I hope you can come back by the blog then!  All for now, Sue x

  13. Morning lovely. Such a pretty start to our final day of treats. Although you've tried to tempt me with the new delicious frames and tags, twisted my arm up my back until I promise to give your striplets (or strippers) a home lol it's the Kinetics all the way for me, I want to share your enjoyment in attempting different, you've worked so hard for months and months again on this launch and opened up a completely new concept for me and others to try it would seem rude and silly not to collect these beauties first. As always Sue I really love the Finishing Touches and help not only enhance my projects they cover a multitude of sins too lol. So who doesn't love the delicacy of butterflies on a pretty card, so along with the other treats of the day, these gorgeous dies will be part of my own die family.
Hope you have a lovely day and feel proud of your new 'babies' as a thank you for making me smile so much these past few days I'm sending an extra big hug to start your day xxx

A lovely card and a lovely die, the butterflies are such a useful embellishment and I like the idea that you have the outline so that it can be used separately or paper pieced. It's been wonderful seeing all the new dies and looking at all the beautiful creations you have made with them.

  52. Hi Sue and all my fellow hopefuls,

The cascading butterfly aperture card was so mesmerizing, I forgot to look at the die set. Wow! So many different butterflies! My stamp, punch and die butterfly collection is quite extensive but should a set of five flutter by, I would welcome them gladly!

My Dad turned 85 on Tuesday. He is staying for two months in Sun City, Arizona, and he offered me the couch for two weeks. There is green grass here, and pleasant days in the 70s. It's a 55-and-older town, and the RV resort is named Paradise. Tuesday morning was chilly and we saw what looked like ice on the shuffleboard courts. Not ice. Two men were polishing them to a high shine with a big machine. They said they polish shuffleboard courts all day every day, all over the country. "Do you shuffle?" the talkative one asked. I said I was too young. He said the minimum age to enter the big shuffleboard championship was 24. Then we heard a commotion from the pool, and there was a bunch of women doing water yoga. We looked at all the amazing woodworking items in the display window of the wood shop, where Dad likes to spend his time, and we looked at the jewelry in the lapidary and silversmithing studio display windows.

The card-making group meets on Fridays, and I'm hoping they'll let me play when I offer to share the Sue Wilson dies I brought. I have everything to make the welcome little one shadow box with the stuffed animals. Dragonsnap, you didn't say how many grandchildren you have and how old they are. How do you do it? How does their mother?

Best of luck and thanks again, Sue, for your generosity. By which I mean giving us such versatile dies and giving us so many ideas for how to use them.

    Love,
    Donita in Arizona

I see why they call it Paradise.

I thought yesterday was the last day, (doh!) and I couldn't understand where the fabulous finishing touches had gone, so I scrolled through all the blogs last night again thinking maybe I had missed one! So imagine how delighted I am this morning to realise, one, I haven't missed them :-) and two, I'm bonkers!!
Any who, enough about silly me.
In my crafty stash, you can never have enough butterflies, and these are fabulous. I know we don't like making certain cards, but this set all in white looking serene, would make a great Sympathy or Thinking of You card, got to go on the 'immediately'list.

  128. Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
I have an embossing folder similar to this and just love it seeing the butterflies go up in a collection like that into the sunshine(well i can dream can't i). What a beautiful 2for die as not only does it make a beuatiful cut out, but also having the butterflies emerging from their cutouts to be able to use as well. The butterfly ef is a great background to go under this die, just perfect flower that you would think you had designed it that way, lol. Thank you flower for another stunning die that is a need to have(that's me up to 4 definite needs) and for another beautiful example.
Well i'm going out to play today with two of my lovely friends, unfortunately my other beautiful friend can't come as needs to see the doc croc so i will really miss her happy face today as it seems so long since we last met up before Christmas.
Dragonsnap, what a wonderful gift, a new baby granddaughter to love and a new baby sister for the others to love and help with bathing and cuddling and getting rid of stinky nappies(like that's going to happen, lol). A new baby brings such a lot of happiness even if there is a lot of work with them as well, it is worth it all to have that wee mite cuddling in. I hope that your daughter is ok although some how i can't see her being able to get much of a break with having the other children as well, but i hope she gets as much help from them as possible and that she rests as and when she can. Sending hugs dowwn to you all.
Hugs on their road to Tina & Owen, i'm thinking of you both flower, Elaine & Andrew, i hope that Andrew is having a better day today, and to all my Wilsonettes that need, could do with or just want a hug, they are there for you all,
    love and crafty hugs

Great for one of those cards that you feel you need to make in a hurry, a beautiful die at that, as you say not only the cut in the background card but the little butterflies that pop out and can be used on something else. Can just see it with a lovely coloured pixie powder background...I have a very soft spot for butterflies !!!! ...stunning card Sue....luv Ursulaxx

  154. Good morning Sue and lovely ladies
What a marvelous collection we have seen over the last few days. I actually have time to sit and ponder and write this morning.
This die is beautiful Sue. I love the dies you have created like this one where the is no waste. You can use the innies and the outies, a whole flutter of butterflies or single ones, so versatile and who doesn't love a butterfly - Lynda B this one's for you!! Stunning die and stunning card to show it off.
I'm rubbish at keeping up and don't get to comment every day at the moment but just want to say congrats to Dragonsnap so on the safe arrival of your new granddaughter.
Donita, Sun City sounds heavenly, your description reminds me of when we stopped in Palm Springs on honeymoon. I'm sure I bought my first embossing powders there. Cherish every moment with your dad xx.
Please excuse any typos, done this on my phone and it likes to make "useful" suggestions (not) and changes words all by it's clever little self.
Sending big hugs to all my crafty friends, Lynda B, Myra Lancs, P in Wales, Laine, Yvonne, Wheely, Maria A and sending big hugs to anyone who needs one.
Love and blessings to you all
