Best Wishes

Good Sunday morning all!  This is an oldie but goodie (hopefully you will think so too!)  I have done a few cards like this in the past as I really like the fact that you can use the Double Pierced Noble Circles and give them a slight oval effect!  I used the set and cut three "frames," but with each one, I pinched one of the sides together when setting them up to cut until they touched (but not overlapped) and cut them so you end up with a frame that is way wider at one side than the other, which gives the appearance of a sort of oval shape.  I mounted all three with mounting foam and set them on to my background which was created by embossing a piece of papyrus colour card with the Jacobean Floral embossing folder.  I added four pearl corners in cream to each of the corners.  I cut a sentiment by using two lines from the Triple Line Best Wishes die set.  I used the negative space cut from milk card and backed it with Papyrus, then a thin black mat.  At the left side, I added a double bow tied from some beautiful silk ribbon (I found on Ebay) that matched the papyrus card perfectly.  I added a vellum flower cut from the Exquisite Poppy die and accented with black jute and black Lace Edged Leaves and cream tulle.  I gave the card a thin black mat then finished with two milk card mats.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x  8 1/4" in size.

  4. Sunday Smiles to you Sue. Hmmmm I'm sorry, I'm not sure, I can't put my finger on the exact reason, maybe it's the choice of colour used, all I know is that it's not one of my favourite samples, I'm sure I'll be alone with my thoughts on today's sample but that's all ok. We can't all like the same style of card can we ?
Sending congratulations to the 3 comment game winners today, enjoy your gift ladies.

  18. Lovely lovely card, Sue, everything great about this one. Had 'saved' one from last year on a similar theme - thought it was ovals and looked back; yes it is ovals but this one with circles is so clever in deceiving the eye. Have made two similar and they were well received, thanks to your design ideas! Very big cards, though.
Deborah A - hope your husband continues to improve, what a worry.
Carmen - love reading your posts, sending hugs to Toronto.
Fluffycat - yes, contretemps as they are known here. Why??!! do they do it? Always a shift in dynamics with a new arrival.
Well done to the three comment winners.

  26. My first reaction was that this was not for me, but I shall reserve judgement as it is growing on me. However, I don't have the Noble Circles, so would have to adapt the idea if I tried it. An idea to put into my mental file. Looking forward to seeing what great new products come out of the NEC show!

You have set me thinking as to how else can these dies be used in this manner. Thank you so much, I hope the trade fair goes well for you and you're able to catch up with some friends too.
Pam hoping you are soon back in your usual place at the top and in a happier mood to cheer us all in your own special way, I know things are difficult at present so sending you a special cuddle to help. x

  110. Hello Sue,
I love the retro look that the circles dies give to this card by the way that you have cut them. Beautiful ribbon you managed to bag yourself on eBay too. I think it could be adapted to make a "man" card and we all need inspiration for those pesky males. Thank you Sue, hope all is going well at the trade fair.
Congratulations to the very lucky winners.
Deborah it's good to hear your husband is recovering, must have been a very worrying time for you.
Pam I hope you are not having further problems with your cough, missing your usual chatty round up.
Lisbeth hope you soon get your new home, think you'd better have a root through some of those boxes!
Thank you for your good wishes, the flight went and without a hitch and I got the biggest cuddle from my grandson when I arrived.
    Love and hugs for all
    Saba.

  112. Beautiful card Sue, I would love to see a video on this and see how you do it. Must be having a senior moment as am a little confused as to the pinching part. I am out of town and don't have my dies with me to play and see how you did it. Thanks so much for sharing.

  113. Afternoon Sue
What a fabulously elegant card. I have the noble circles (and squares and ovals), and use them all the time. To use them like this is pure genius and gives the card such a chic look x
And the colours are perfect - love it x
I have returned home from my weekend away in one piece but worn out. Nottingham University is very impressive. My friend Gill whose son is going there this Autumn is absolutely delighted that her boy has chosen so well x
I did make it to Phill's shop but would like to know who gave him the heads up that I was coming. Apparently it wasn't his weekend but I can tell when someone is trying to throw me off the scent!! Perhaps it was an inside job? Perhaps someone felt that I might just be too much for little Phill to handle - eh Sue??!!
Apparently he was at the trade show!!! Lol x
Congratulations to Patricah on your card win and to the comment game winners x
Lovely weekend but tiring and my plans over the next few days are - well not much at all x
Carmen - welcome welcome welcome, to the best blog in the whole wide world. You may be a newbie but you fit in perfectly. Your English is brilliant x
Margaret corgi owner - you sounded like the queen when you said the corgis had just come in from their morning walk x
Saba - I agree, just a t shirt - glad you have your priorities right. Enjoy those cuddles x
Myra - I thought between you and Maureen it was you that was the brainy one x
Debs cards - sorry your husband has been so poorly but glad he is on the mend now. Sending hugs x
    Pam - short but sweet - hope you're ok - hugs x
Elaine - a walk in the sunshine - final destination the pub - sounds like a plan. Hugs x
Lisbeth - I hope things are sorted pretty quickly so you have your own place and crafty space x
Sue I hope you have had an amazing weekend albeit busy and more than likely tiring. I am delighted to see you are going to be on Hochanda and it is very exciting that you will be playing with the Candy Machine. However I would be lying if I said that I am happy with just 1 show. Have you upset the powers that be?
Sending everyone happy thoughts and lots of love especially all my wonderful Wilsonettes blog besties - you know who you are x
    Take care folks
    Crafty hugs

  116. Gorgeous card design. Do I understand you distorted the dies before cutting the paper out? That's a brazen act. You surprised me. Don't you just love the way the silk ribbon ties in a bow?

  127. Hello Sue,

What a different and interesting design that gives you the look of ovals but is done with the Noble Circles. Clean and simple really but an elegance added with the beautiful ribbon and pearls.

  132. Hello Sue,
What a gorgeous card and a great idea! I don't have the circle ones but I'm wondering if It would be worth trying something with my squares - more in the diamond shape than square! Lovely colours and bow too.
I'm sorry I'm late - have had a migraine today so been in bed. Need to have some toast I think!
Frances - Fluffycat - you made me laugh yesterday! The lie down wasn't meant to be quite so long! Lol!

  136. Hi Sue,
A different card again! A new idea! Clever way to use the Double Pierced Noble Circles! I like the colors, the corners details, the embossing background, the sentiment & silk ribbon (matches the papyrus card perfectly, indeed).
I don’t know about the big bow, it will be a problem to send the card by mail. I will make it smaller. Just a thought.
    -
Debs Cards – best wishes to your husband and you. I don’t know if you noticed but the sentiments that Sue is writing on the cards are always the right words to say to somebody in need.
    -
Pam – I hope I will not disappoint you! I’m used to see longer posts from you. Is everything all right there?
    -
'P' in Wales – got the hugs, send back to you twice as much!
    -
Elaine H – not worries to cross a busy street, Toronto has lots, lots of traffic light! On the other hand I will stop the traffic for you, so you’ll be safe. When is your flight?
    -
PP/Princess Pixie/ Yvonne – Thank you, thank you, thank you for your very warm welcome. I don’t know if I “fit” in already, maybe soon. (I’m trying to lose a few pounds; hopefully I am on the right track- haha).
