Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi crafters!  This is a rather clean and simple card for this week's card giveaway.  It is just so pretty in real life that I thought you might enjoy it!  I started with a piece of coconut white card and embossed it with the Ice Crystal embossing folder.  Next I cut the Illuminated Angel striplet out of white card.  I used Pixie Powders, Rich Gold, Candy Pink and Sun Yellow to create a background for it and I used the outside cutting edge to cut a piece from it and attached the angel striplet to it.  Next I cut two of the Holly Octagonal frame out of white card.  I cut them both in half and attached them as accents around the angel striplet then I used mounting foam to adhere it to the left hand side of the card.  I cut the Greetings of the Season die twice out of Gold Pearl card and stacked them, then glued the on to the right side of the card.  A simple white on white mat and layer with a pierced edge completed the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 3/4" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like a chance to win this one.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Belated birthday greetings to Myra and Brenda, you kept that quiet ladies. Hope you both had a great day.
Lorraine, glad the op went well, let's hope this sorts your symptoms out.
Wheeley, so glad to see your post yesterday although sorry you are still having those migraines. Billy seems to be recovering well.
June, hope you are okay after physio.
Elaine, I so wish that someone could take responsibility for sorting Andrews meds out, it is not right that he has to chase this up himself.
Tina, I too wish that Peters leg gets sorted soon. Too often patients get caught up in the system instead of the care they need.
Sharon, take care and rest that leg.
Hugs to all especially poorly and missing friends, Tina and Mick, thinking of you.

  10. Morning Sue. Clean, fresh, and would stand out in a crowded room full of shop bought expensive rubbish that hasn't been made with thought or love. I really love the vibrant but delicate use of pixie powders that enhance the Illuminated Angel striplet it really shows every detail of the work you put into designing this festive die that will never grow old. Beautiful.
Watch out for my usual hug coming your way, and whatever your plans for the day, hope its an enjoyable one for you xxx

Thank you all for your concern RE: Andrews Medication what a fiasco , ( Andrew is a very placid Man who usually takes things in his stride but he did rattle a few cages yesterday )
To cut the story short the Consultants Secretary was adamant that the fax was sent as she was with Consultant when he did it , but she was going to do it again herself and ask him to do another when he gets to the office at 9.30 am .
Andrew phoned the DRs at 10.00 who said they had not received the fax , so Andrew made an appointment with his Dr for 11.00. in the meantime the Consultant phoned Andrew to check the fax number was correct and to say his DRs have now had 3 fax . after putting the phone down ,he has a call from the receptionist at the Drs to say they have had a fax , and she would get it to the Chemist for him to collect ,and she had cancelled his appointment with the Dr.
So Helen goes to the chemist to collect the Meds at 3.30 thinking it would be ready BUT NOOOOOO they had not had the FAX so she tootles of to the Drs to get it herself , she hands it in at the chemist to find that they had not got the meds in stock what was called for in a tin ,they only had the sachets , but they were very kind and gave her a sachet of the meds to tide him over last night and this morning , they ordered the tins while Helen was there and should have them in later today. fingers crossed.

I have just read this back and it sounds like a carry on movie ,honestly i know that our Doctors and staff are very busy but ,,,,,,,,,,,,, i will say no more.

Take care everyone hugs to all .

  50. Hi Sue,

Beautifully simple and simply beautiful!...love the Illuminated Angel striplet and you've set her off to perfection with the Pixies in gold, pink and yellow - would love to win this one...

I've missed the whole of the new dies launch thanks to Sky messing us about - no internet, no landline and they even cut off our TV package for a couple of days...absolutely infuriating and it was all their fault, not ours...still, they've finally sorted out the mess and at least I can catch up now on the whole launch in one fell swoop...lol

June - glad to read that your knee continues to improve...

  64. Hi, Sue,
What a beautiful card for the giveaway this week. I love this die and the background is stunning. I was up to my ears in Christmas card making yesterday and I've more to make today. None of mine are anything as good as yours though!
I'll need to take it a bit slower today though as my back is really painful. My doc said it's not my arthritis or the other spinal problem this time but she seems to think know that my sacroiliac joint is inflamed so the surrounding muscles are going into spasm, all I know is that it's much more painful than normal, like having a nagging toothache in your lower back which seems to radiate through to the front. Ah well, I think my body is telling me it's getting older lol.
    Happy Wednesday, everyone

Nattyboots: I have good reason to appreciate the communication difficulties affecting the NHS and the problems your are going through. I hope that the Meds arrive soon and the situation improves for Andrew and yourself. My mother was discharged from hospital last week without my brother and I being informed of the very negative results shown up by a CATScan. She has short term memory problems and really couldn't comprehend what she was told. She was discharged into the care of the GP and palliative care team neither of whom had been informed and, as it subsequently turned out, neither knew why she had been put into their care. I had some information only found out by badgering a ward nurse who told me more than she should. The palliative care nurse has since found out that the Gastro team is to met to decide what could or should be done but still can't find out the total situation. We are left in limbo now not knowing the prognosis. To say some some brown stuff hit the fan in a North Wales hospital when my brother found out is an understatement.

  94. Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
I love the white background against the angel rising from what reminds me of the colours in lava from a volcano, so she looks like she's rising from a volcanic eruption. Against the ice crystal backdrop of the white it is just beautiful, what a lovely piece of inspiration to start off the day.
We have a lovely snow topped hill scene going on up here at Glenochil so i reckon that winter is definitely here and started. My hills look like iced christmas puddings even if they are on the large side. At least if the snow is up there we can admire the beauty of it, it's only when it decides to come down on to the roads and pavements i have the bother with it as it sends my legs and feet in two entirely different directions which can definitely be painful to say the least.
Myra my lovely friend, i am so very sorry that i lost track of the days when it was your birthday too. I'm so glad that you had a lovely night out last night as it's nice to just once in a while be spoiled a bit. I get that when i meet up with my beautiful cherubs in April and October, oh how i so look forward to when our next few days away come around, but they seem to go in a flash. Happy birthday lovely lady, sending huggles down to you ;D
Brenda Lello, i hope that you had a lovely day yesterday as well flower and that you were treated to the silver service treatment as well from your nearest and dearest whether they be family or friends or better still, both.
Well i'm going away to get on with the border of this shawl that i hope i will get finished for tomorrow so that i can get it pinned out and ready for friday. So i will say goodbye for now everyone and sending hugs to my Wilsonettes that need, could do with or just want, they are on their way to you all,
    love and crafty hugs

  116. It would be icing on my cake today to win this card. We in the USA have a new president, and I am thrilled. You guys in Britain started it a few months ago. We followed you yesterday in letting the world know we will decide our future, not other countries or entities. I thought about what you did all day yesterday and hoped we would have the numbers to do it. And we did. Evangelical Christians came out in droves and it's a new day. Our new president will want to create a bond with your prime minister and we will be cohorts again. Myra from Florida

  122. Beautiful card! I especially would enjoy it if this card arrived in the post to me!!! Love the Pixie Powder layer under your gorgeous angel in this card. Pixie Powders are so much fun to use and reveal the colorful created card. I was playing with Pixie Powders last week. I tried John Next Door's technique with getting an extra layer by pressing another sheet of card stock and/or vellum on top of the original layer. I also "mopped up" the remaining liquid in my spray box with kitchen roll to get a layer that will add texture to another card. I had inky fingers, including hands, when I finished. I though I was going to have to bleach my hands to get all the pigment off my hands. But, I had bought a bar of Artist soap and I was amazed at how well this soap cleaned my hands. Yeah. No bleach needed.

Well what's not to like about this card? The beautiful Pixie Powders enhance your angel die to complete perfection. Gorgeous x
I have had a bit of a stressful day. I don't know if you have seen the reports on the news about the early morning tram crash in Croydon. 6 people confirmed dead and more than 50 people went to hospital. I have a friend who travels on the tram to work early morning and I have been trying to get hold of her all day.
Been worried sick but thankfully she replied to my hysterical voicemail and panic stricken texts at 6 this evening. She hadn't been to work but would probably have been on the tram that crashed. She had stayed at a friends last night but forgot to take her mobile with her.
I had fully intended to comment earlier today but got distracted!
I have been AWOL for a number of days due to a couple of the worst migraines I have had for at least 20 years. I am lucky in that I usually manage to nip them in the bud before they render me completely out of action. This was something else! Anyway, all gone now so trying to claw my way back to normality x
If I had not spent the day worrying about my friend I would have been able to concentrate more on reading comments I had missed but I'm afraid that will have to wait x
I am sending all of you happy thoughts and lots of love especially my blog besties x
God willing I will be back tomorrow with knobs on x
    Take care
