Christmas Blessings Angel Card
Hi bloggers! Today's video shows you how to create a lovely soft background using sentiment dies and finishes it off with the 2016 Christmas Angel.
The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8 1/4" in size. All for now, Sue x
Stunning card Sue, I love it. Cheryl, so glad you got your positive results and that all is well. Best news ever. Pp Yvonne, no wonder you were frantic, perfectly understandable, it was a horrendous accident, sympathetic thoughts for all involved. Elaine, I'm not surprised Andrew got annoyed the whole fiasco has been a nightmare, where does the buck stop. Tina and Peter, daily hugs to help you along while you wait for the leg to be sorted. June and Sharon, pity you girls can't do physio together but make sure you both rest as well. Sharon hope your bug clears up soon, you have enough on your plate. Maureen hope the cataract op went well, are you supposed to be on your Kindle ?, be careful, you don't want any setbacks. Tress a hope you get sorted with your Mum soon, such a worry. It's very cold here, and faint, and I am back on antibiotics for yet another chest infection,. I'm not keen on this weather. Hugs to all poorly, missing friends and everyone on the blog.

Love and crafty hugs to all, Tina T xxxx
Morning dear Sue. My two out walking in the cold dark and wet, it would be so much better for Andy if you could train a dog to use the loo like some cats have been taught to do, but as this is 'real life' and not Bruce Almighty, it's up to the man of the house to go out in all weather's poor guy. So I'm taking the opportunity to take in the inspirational Thursday tutorial. To be perfectly honest with you as honesty is always the best policy porky pies get found out - eventually ! But I wasn't too sure about the first vision I got as it loaded, but watching the video has changed my first thoughts and yes, it's really really pretty. It's unusual, but I really like this sample very much and yet again it helps get our crafting mind going ready for the day ahead. You are certainly right when you say the dries clear glue doesn't show through the vellum, because you don't need much anyway on anything for it to hold your work in place, so little is needed for the more delicate papers such as the vellum in today's sample. How you use the double sided sticky sheet with such confidence always gets me holding my breath Sue, as it's almost guarenteed that as I place my work over it, whatever I'm holding slips from my fingers ! The times I've painted the room blue - hmm we'll say no more lol. So on that note my hug is on its way and I hope you have an enjoyable day xxx
Good morning Sue. Beautiful card, I find the angels very peaceful and comforting. Pam, keep warm and i hope the antibiotics work quickly. Cheryl, wonderful news, I'm so happy for you. Hugs to all, especially anyone in pain or caring for a loved one. Sue xxx

Lovely card, Sue, do like the silver on white. Inspired background with the inset, a clever touch. Angels not my thing, but she does look very pretty here! Thanks as ever for the video. Pam, hope your infection clears quickly, take care. PP - oh my word what a worry - didn't see that on the news - all about Mr Trump so guess it was pushed lower down the list. Think a lot of us know about migraines, but you do seem to have some awful ones. How's your BF? Hugs to our poorly and missing people.

Hi Sue Love this Angel, I have her & have used her quite a bit, I like the card you have made & will watch the video later, Thank you Best wishes Karen M
Hi Sue, Your Angel 2016 is absolutely adorable, I have yet to use her but she will be on quite a few cards of mine....... Love this card of yours, the use of vellum is brilliant. Hugs, Rose
Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh what a super video, I must have a try of this one, the card looks fabulous, love the angel as you know.
Pam what are you like, another chest infection, please take care of yourself and hope the antibiotics kick in soon. hugs xx
Sharon, yes we should do physio together, let's hope that bug goes away quickly. I still have 1 crutch but the physio told me to use it on my left arm as the right knee is the one that was done, but oh ouch does it hurt using it that way, the exercises my physio has given me are quite painful to do but that means they are making my muscles work but I am getting there. I think we are more or less at the same level of progress but everyone is different. xx
Cheryl, best news ever re kidneys - hope the same goes for the mammogram today.
Pp Yvonne, you must have been frantic with worry about your friend, it was a terrible accident with so many fatalities and lots of people still very poorly in hospital, goodness knows what happened, although I understand the driver has been arrested for manslaughter. I am pleased that your migraines have gone, never had them myself but have seen friends and family suffer with them and my heart goes out to you. hugs xx
Teresa, how awful for you, your brother and your Mum, why does this sort of thing happen in this day and age, I bet there was lots of brown stuff hitting the fan when your brother spoke to them, lets hope it gets sorted and quickly.
Bejay, I too suffer with my lower back and can really feel your pain, I do hope you get some relief soon, hugs xx
Elaine, I too am not surprised Andrew got annoyed the whole fiasco has been a nightmare, where does the buck stop. This sort of thing should never happen in day and age of technology. I know from experience it is a nightmare dealing with drs. and chemists. hugs xx
Tina and Peter, daily hugs to help you along while you wait for the leg to be sorted.
Maureen hope the cataract op went well, if you are using the kindle please only use it for a short period of time because of the bright lights.
Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx
What a gorgeous card This Angel die is so lovely and could be used in so many ways, I thought I would write 1st the I will make a coffee and watch the video on it before John is on Hochanda

Tressa Oh my , what can i say ? i do know of a few people who have been let down badly , i just hope you can get your Mum sorted soon it is such a big worry for you . xxx
Andrew seems to be having a crappy week one way or another , he seems to be in a fragile state and very down { only to be expected } to top it off yesterday he went to the little Hospital for his blood test he has always gone there as it is only 3 mins away , { he was given a red card when discharged by the Hospital to say he was a cancer patient and not to come into contact with infection or germs ,this card is to be use when in crowded places and wanting treatment} The place was heaving with people so he gave this card to a staff member , who looked at it and said in a loud voice , what are you giving me that for, just because you've got cancer your not jumping the queue you can sit and wait like everyone else . Andrew was aware every eye was on him as he turned around for a seat and waited for over 1 hour with coughs and sneezes going on all around . The other weeks he has been have never been a problem he has been shown into a small room sitting on his own and read a book waiting his turn . He is going to relay the incident to his Consultant this afternoon to see what he says . I find it very very annoying and upsetting to think that patients can be treated this way especially when Hospitals ,Chemists etc have polite notices saying we must treat staff with respect ???? what its a joke ! RANT OVER.
Then last night he tells me the new meds have not agreed with him , he was poorly all afternoon so that is another problem again .
Good Morning Sue and all. Beautiful card and I will look forward to watching the video this morning. Great colours as always. Reading the posts on here everyone is so kind, I would like to send hugs , well wishes to who needs them. Wendy

Hi Sue, a truly beautiful card and a proper depiction of Christmas. I think I have told you before that I believe this to be your best angel yet. A very clear video and a clever way to recess the centre cut out. Love it.
Cheryl - great news about the all clear, hope today's mammogram goes as well. Pam - hope the antibiotics kick in and you feel better very soon. Maureen - please don't strain your eyes after the op. they are too precious. PP Yvonne - I thought of you and your boys when I heard the dreadful news yesterday morning. So glad your friend was not involved but I can fully understand your worry. I loved going on the trams whenever I was staying with my mum. I am old enough (just, lol) to remember the last of the old trams and was thrilled when they announced that they were going to have new ones. Thinking of all those involved and especially the families of those that lost their lives.
Hi Sue and everyone. Lovely card Sue, the angel is so pretty. I have some cutouts of her but haven't made them into cards yet but I will,I will TFS.

Sending you both hugs x Hugs to all the other poorly wilsonettes and their loved ones too x Theresa w xxx
Hello Sue I am not a fan of angels but I quite like this card. Elaine what is wrong with hospitals I hope Andrew is gets help today. Pam I hope the antibiotics kick in soon we all rely on you. At the moment I am sitting here freezing no heating or hot water. The gas people were supposed to reconnect me yesterday after having new gas pipes fitted after 5 hours last night of phoning, leaving texts and messages and 55minutes of listening to awful music while hanging on I finally got through to be told the system was down and she would get back to me. 21.50 last night I finally got through again to be told the fitter had called at my house at 21.15 and couldn't gain entry I have a door bell that sounds like big ben and the reason she hadn't got back to me was she must have written my phone number down wrong. I made another appoint for this morning and it is now afternoon and still no show.
Hi Sue. This is such a classy Christmas card, who wouldn't be pleased to receive it. What a great idea to use the sentiments to create a background in this way.
Hi sue. Georgeous with a bit o bling!! I'll have to use other does to re create this beauty but it's very effective. Xx
Cheryl. Great news on ur kidneys so chuffed for u. Hopefully ur mammo result will be good news too. Xx
Elaine. Omg I can't believe someone could be so mean!! I mean it's bad enough having cancer and having to watch where u go when bloods are low but did she really have to broadcast it to everyone?? If that was me I'd have given her a piece of my mind that's a disgrace!! I can honestly say I had never had any issues whilst going through my treatment in fact they couldn't have been nicer but there's always one that spoils it for u. Hope Andrews dilemmas get a little easier xx
Hello Sue Today's card shows off the angel die to perfection. Pam I hope your chest infection soon clears up,trouble is if you are prone to them they recur at this time of year. I am typing with one eye closed so as not to strain it, but it's a slow job and hit and miss on here but thank you. Cheryl what good news hope mammo results are just as good Elaine how awful for Andrew, I hope he gets some satisfaction. Maria thanks pet!! I only thought about the pluses of the op never the drawbacks like being able to see Myra clearly ha ha. Fluffycat thank you. ! Love to all who are ill and their carers Maureen xxx
I like how your Christmas Angel 2016 looks like she is floating on this card. Great idea to place her on vellum for the ethereal look. Thanks for the great video. Sue, you are awesome!
The mix of fonts on the Christmas Blessings die work beautifully. Thanks for the video and the idea of using vellum to soften the effect. You have ispired me to get my vellum out as I do not use it half as much as I could.
What an absolute treat of a video and card, whilst i have never been keen on angels this card definitely converts me and then some. The background created with the repeated Christmas Blessings is a great idea and one that i will use with the same die....i love the recessed portion covered in vellum to soften the effect, inspired! The angel looks serene and majestic as the focal point and definitely persuades me of her beauty. I will try recreating this card using perhaps the angel striplet as the focal element, don't know if it will work but i'[ll give it a go. Keep the Christmas cards coming Sue, i cant get enough inspiration at the moment:-) I've been absent for a few days...i know, inexcusable...getting over a particularly nasty cluster of migraines, but all is good now:-) it looks like i've missed a lot as well but i'll try and catch up over the next couple of days. I've been struggling to motivate myself to knuckle down and start my Christmas cards properly.....i have done some cutting in preparation, stamping&colouring and made the treat cups which are glued and drying as we speak, however, making an actual card is proving a challenge because im simply not feeling in the mood to craft....i always feel down at this time of year, it's a time for many bereavement anniversaries and i suffer from SAD so motivating myself becomes more difficult. I love Christmas themed cards though, and have an embarrassment of dies so i just need a kick up the bum to get started:-) Brodie is waiting in eager anticipation, loitering around my craft room whenever i go in, and he looks lovely with a liberal dose of Iced Snow through his fur. Pam, you are a star! You are up at the crack of dawn commenting regardless which i truly commend you for so to hear that you are unwell is rotten. I hope your chest infection clears soonxxx June and Sharon, good luck with the physio, i hope your joint pain eases and you're able to have a more restful nights sleep Cheryl, great news about your kidneys, it must be such a relief for you to get the all clear. Good luck with the mammogramxxx Elaine, i'm not surprised you're livid, that treatment is totally unacceptable and shouldn't go unpunished. I hope the consultant wields some power and has that woman disciplined! Hugs to you and poor Andrew, hope he picks up soon, he doesn't need this aggro. Trish, hope your heating gets sorted today...brrr! Yvonne, was thinking of you yesterday, hope you're calmer now after all that stress and panic, terrible tragedy but glad your friend is okay. Hugsxxx Hugs to Maria, Pat, Wheely,Myra, Maureen, Deb C, Theresa, Tracy, Frances, the lovely P, and all my other bestiesxxx
Hi Sue, Beautiful card, love your 2016 Angel and the way that you have created this gorgeous card. Thanks for a great video and for all the amazing inspiration, Heather
Hello Sue, A really lovely card! I can't watch the video just now but I will watch it tomorrow! I have the Christmas Blessings Die and I love it! It cuts beautifully and really stands out! I have the Angel too! She is so elegant! Thank you! Pam - very sort to hear you aren't so well and I do hope you feel lots better soon! Maria - sorry you aren't well either ! I do hope you feel better tomorrow! As for Maureen and whether or not the lady is in for a shock when she sees me - well you may well be right!! She thinks I am about forty and wrinkle free!! Elaine - so sorry about Andrew's ordeal! He could have done without that! June and Sharon - keep up the good work! Hard though it is! PP - so sorry you got such a shock yesterday but pleased your friend is alright! Laine - Migraines are awful! Never mind a cluster of them. Pleased you a bit better! Thanks for the hug! Sending one to you! Love to all, Myra xx
Hi Sue, A really beautiful Xmas card. I love the way you use word dies to form backgrounds, also when you se foliage to create the same effects then add glitter to fill in. More bling the better !!. You have such great imagination on the ways you can use dies like no one else I have seen. You are very talented and look forward to new cards that you will create and dies in 2017. Lots of hugs Jenny , Isle of Wight. xxxx
Sue this is another beautiful and stunning card. I love the christmas angel die and it looks fab with the christmas blessings die as a background. Thanl you for another fab video too.
Beautiful card Sue. Lovely idea to have the sentiment as a background and your angel is so gorgeous. Pam sorry to read you are unwell. Hope you feel better soon. So Pleased to hear your good results Cheryl. Crewe Trish, hope you're warm tonight. Elaine, How awful for Andrew. Some of those receptionists are very unhelpful and rude. Hope it gets resolved. Maria hope you feel better tomorrow. 2 more weeks til plaster comes off so can't wait. Missing all my crafting!! Best wishes to everyone. Xx
Hi Sue and all your crafty crew Well I have to say that I love the card you have given us today I will defiantly be trying this one out as I own the angel die and the sentiment one oh I am excited to see how mine compares with yours Sue Hugs to all that may need one Theresa G xx
Hi Sue. Sorry this is so late tonight. I think your Angel card today is soooo stunning and soooo elegant !!! A truly gorgeous card. I love the colours, and the velum in the centre adds to the overall elegant feel of the card. The Angel is really beautiful and I love how you have made her with the black accent behind her and backing her dress in white. I had never though of making a background using Christmas word dies. Why did I never think of doing this before ? I have your "Christmas Blessings" word die and I even have the glitter you have used !!! I am now going to have a go at making this background myself !!! Unfortunately I do not have this years Angel die but I have your two previous Angel dies so may be I could try something with them instead. I really loved your video to. Thank you. Sending lots of love to you Sue from Tres x x x
Hi Sue. I am late again lol. Todays card is goegeous and very elegant. Love the way you have made the frame and overlayed the vellum to give it a soft look to it. I have all of your angel dies so i am going to have a try making this beauty with them all and see which one turns out the best, probably all of them lol. Another great video with all of your hints and tips. John had great shows today with some nice demos and beautiful sample cards. Best Wishes. Denise T x

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, oh what a super video, I must have a try of this one, the card looks fabulous, love the angel as you know.
ReplyDeletePam what are you like, another chest infection, please take care of yourself and hope the antibiotics kick in soon.
Morning Sue and all you kind Wilsonettes

Lorraine ,pleased all went well for you . x
Tressa Oh my , what can i say ? i do know of a few people who have been let down badly , i just hope you can get your Mum sorted soon it is such a big worry for you . xxx
Andrew seems to be having a crappy week one way or another , he seems to be in a fragile state and very down { only to be expected } to top it off yesterday he went to the little Hospital for his blood test he has always gone there as it is only 3 mins away , { he was given a red card when discharged by the Hospital to say he was a cancer patient and not to come into contact with infection or germs ,this card is to be use when in crowded places and wanting treatment}
The place was heaving with people so he gave this card to a staff member , who looked at it and said in a loud voice , what are you giving me that for, just because you've got cancer your not jumping the queue you can sit and wait like everyone else .
Sending big hugs to all
Take care
Elaine H X

Hi Sue, a truly beautiful card and a proper depiction of Christmas. I think I have told you before that I believe this to be your best angel yet. A very clear video and a clever way to recess the centre cut out. Love it.
ReplyDeleteCheryl - great news about the all clear, hope today's mammogram goes as well.

Beautiful again, Sue. The simple colour scheme really enhances the dies.

ReplyDeleteHello Sue
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of angels but I quite like this card.
OH wow, what a brilliant idea, I love this, thanks Sue....luv Ursula xx
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. This is such a classy Christmas card, who wouldn't be pleased to receive it. What a great idea to use the sentiments to create a background in this way.
ReplyDeleteLisbeth
Hi sue.
ReplyDeleteGeorgeous with a bit o bling!!
Love to all xx
Pam forgot to wish u get well soon a biiiig hug coming ur way chicky xx
DeleteHello Sue
ReplyDeleteToday's card shows off the angel die to perfection.
Pam I hope your chest infection soon clears up,trouble is if you are prone to them they recur at this time of year. I am typing with one eye closed so as not to strain it, but it's a slow job and hit and miss on here but thank you.
Cheryl what good news hope mammo results are just as good
Elaine how awful for Andrew, I hope he gets some satisfaction.
Maria thanks pet!! I only thought about the pluses of the op never the drawbacks like being able to see Myra clearly ha ha.
Fluffycat thank you.
!
Love to all who are ill and their carers

WOW! This is stunning! I really love the silver against the sparkle! It really makes it stand out and the Angel is darling!! TFS!
ReplyDeleteI like how your Christmas Angel 2016 looks like she is floating on this card. Great idea to place her on vellum for the ethereal look. Thanks for the great video. Sue, you are awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe mix of fonts on the Christmas Blessings die work beautifully. Thanks for the video and the idea of using vellum to soften the effect. You have ispired me to get my vellum out as I do not use it half as much as I could.
ReplyDeleteSusan x
Beautiful! I love this angel.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolute treat of a video and card, whilst i have never been keen on angels this card definitely converts me and then some.
Keep the Christmas cards coming Sue, i cant get enough inspiration at the moment:-)
I've been absent for a few days...i know, inexcusable...getting over a particularly nasty cluster of migraines, but all is good now:-) it looks like i've missed a lot as well but i'll try and catch up over the next couple of days.
I hope your chest infection clears soonxxx
June and Sharon, good luck with the physio, i hope your joint pain eases and you're able to have a more restful nights sleep
Cheryl, great news about your kidneys, it must be such a relief for you to get the all clear. Good luck with the mammogramxxx
Elaine, i'm not surprised you're livid, that treatment is totally unacceptable and shouldn't go unpunished.
Hugsxxx
Hugs to Maria, Pat, Wheely,Myra, Maureen, Deb C, Theresa, Tracy, Frances, the lovely P, and all my other bestiesxxx

Love the die, but not my favourite post...Colours great though

ReplyDeleteSending lots of love to everyone from Tres x x x
