Thank You

Hello my crafty friends!  Today's card was supposed to have been a demo from the first two hour show, but I just didn't get that far!  So I thought I would just share it here with you now.  I started by simply embossing a piece of coconut white card with the Jacobean Embossing folder for some background texture.  Next I cut the Belgian tags in white, cutting two of one style (shown on the sides) and one of the other style.  I selected a length of green and white striped grosgrain ribbon and wove it through the sides of the first tag (there is a nice open spot just for this purpose), then through the smaller area on the other style tag, then finally back through the same area on the first style tag.  I added a bit of foam to all three tags and attached them to the background, then tucked the ends of the ribbon on to the back of the embossed background.  Next I cut the Bruges die out out white,  cut a backing in white and glued them together.  I used the inside cutting die to cut an aperture and added foam to the back.  I placed it over the centre tag in a vertical fashion, pulling the tips of the tag upward so they sort of were clipped into place.  Next I stamped my sentiment from the Petite Lavish Sentiments three times on to white card.  I cut two of them out with the inside from the matching tag that they were to be placed upon and the third one from the inside of the other tag style.  I inked them very lightly with Colour Cloud ink (Basil Leaf)and mounted them on to the tag centres.  I added a strip of white pearls to the upper and lower edges of the card as accents.  I completed the card by paper piercing a white mat and finished with a slightly larger white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x  8 1/2" in size.

I will be doing the drawings for the winning Festive dies, so please don't forget to check back later in the day to see if your name is posted on the winners list!!   All for now, Sue x

  8. Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, such a pretty card today, I love the way that you add just a hint of colour to the edges and it really makes things pop. I so enjoyed all your shows over the past few days, wish we could have more.

My thoughts as always are with anyone who is suffering, poorly or who have big problems in their lives. Tracey especially you and your Dad, Tina and Mick, Andrew and Elaine and I also wish Sarah, Pat and her family have a wonderful holiday.

I am not sure if I will be able to post for the next few days, I am going away again and the wifi might not be good but I will try, if not I will update it when I get back, don't want to miss my daily fix of Sue's blog.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  20. Love the white on white, it always looks elegant.

The outer dies are perfect for threading ribbon through. They will make fabulous ribbon sliders cut from shrink plastic. So many ideas... so little time LOL.

I'm trying to make a small soft toy for my great Granddaughter, have tried amigurumi crochet, didn't work out very well at all. So now I plan on knitting one. If that doesn't work I shall make a patchwork one.

    Have a good day everyone.

Tracy, it's so unfair after the year that you've had that you now have to go through this with your Dad. A lot of us have been there in just normal times and it is hard enough then. Try to keep strong with the help of your lovely husband and family, we're all thinking of you and hoping that he can be helped with the pain and sickness.

Yvonne thanks for thinking of me 're the migraines.

Norah, I hope Rory is ok now.
Tina, hugs for you and Mick. I hope he can make use of his new chair soon
Theresa W, nicely put with Sue's number one fans.
Pat, I hope Sarah and her family have a good break.
Wheely, gentle hugs for your horrid migraines, mine was much kinder.
Bejay, well done on the sort out but take care of that back. We don't want you laid up so you can't reap the rewards you deserve.
Stephen, I hope your journey back isn't too taxing and that you get the breathing and rib pain under control.
Laine I hope you get your mono back and thanks for thinking of me.
June have a great time away.
Laine and Yvonne can I say even though I know neither of you really mean the harsh things you say I find it very hard to read. The good hearted banter is much easier.
Pam, June, P in Wales, and Wheely thank you for your good wishes regarding my problem. It's out of my hands at the moment and I have to wait and see what the powers that be decide to do. It's a horrible feeling.

How clean and minty fresh is today's beauty. It's stunning really beautiful.
Dr's appointment has me being assessed at the admissions unit at 12 which I just DONT need considering there is so much holiday washing to do, all I hoping for is a check up and antibiotics and home, NOT a stay over for a few days !! That can't happen please 😢
If I can't comment for the next few days or pop in for my daily smile I will have the biggest sulk ever. The doctor almost got me packed off in an ambulance until we decided the blood gas monitor was playing up, thank goodness he tried a different one after seeing the look of sheer panic come over my face !!
So I will leave you with a big 4th of July hug and one for our Sam. Have a good day xx

  128. Hi Sue. WOW !!! This is just gorgeous !!! What a fantasic card showcasing the beautiful Belgian Collection !!! These dies are Sooo pretty Sue. I love the green striped ribbon going through the centre giving the card a "pop" of colour. This looks to me like a sort of buckle card, which I know is one of your favourite cards to make. The Jacobean embossing folder looks really lovely to and the strips of pearls add a wonderful finishing touch. Thank you Sue for sharing this gorgeous card with us today. Sending lots of love to you Sue from Tres x x x

  132. Happy July 4th Sue and all the US Wilsonettes!
Sue, the card is stunning and that ribbon...it's GORGEOUS!!!

Well, the refurb on the craft room is STILL ongoing. I've managed to get the chair back in and I've almost found all the floor, but when I found myself just sitting there moving the same thing back and forth I decided that it was time to stop for today. I'm really hoping it's all finished by the end of tomorrow though LOL.

Hugs and love to everyone, especially those going through difficult times right now.

  133. Happy 4th July Sue. Your buckle cards do it for me every time. I haven't got any of your Belgian collection dies but I do like them. Maybe after I've bought all of my Christmas dies I'll have some money left over. (Some hope). A very pretty card and love that ribbon. Hugs. xx P Austen

  134. Good afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Happy 4th of July Sue and our friends across the pond, hope you enjoy your celebrationsxxx
A characteristically beautiful card to begin what has been a rather damp and dour start to the week.....got caught In a downpour earlier so not best pleased:-(....this little gem has fairly cheered me up though. I confess to having preferred the Swiss collection but this card goes a long way to changing that hasty decision, I love the buckle effect with the grosgrain ribbon threaded through.....my football team Celtic's colours are green and white stripes so no complaints there:-)......and the Jacobean EF is to die for and is the only element that I currently own. Nevermind, I can still fully appreciate perfection even if I can't actually copy it this time. I'm hoping to find some of that ribbon at Ally Pally in September because I don't have a local craft store anymore.....good for the wallet though not so good for the soul:-)
I had a tough decision to make today, which bundle from your shows do I splash out on? I narrowed it down to between the shadow box and the noble ovals but was at a loss as to how to separate them. After much agonising I decided to take Yvonne's advice and invest in the shadow box in the hope that you may bring out further additions for it like handbags, shoes, blokey things, baby stuff etc . It was tough to reject the ovals though but I have to be careful with my spending otherwise I won't have a bean to spend in September.....plus I have my eye on the noble circles which I believe that you will bring to your next shows:-).....hopefully.
Yvonne, you must be feeling so smug that you can recreate today's beautiful card, well I'm not in the least bit jealous.....and if you believe that......:-) you must be so excited to recieve your package though which is a pity given your persistently weak bladder:-) Nevermind, I know that you have shares in Tena Lady! Did you enjoy dribbling over The Musketeers last night? Not my cup of tea but I do see the attraction. Bake Off will be back soon so I hope that you'll put in some practise before my visit, I could do with putting on a stone or two:-)
Lorraine, I'm sorry that my caustic sense of humour is to sharp for you at times, unfortunately Yvonne shares my wickedness and it's not long before our jibes get out of control, I'll try to make a bigger effort to be polite but it's just for your benefit not because I feel that she deserves any niceties :-) hope you're feeling well and that the migraines have subsidedxxx
The same goes for Wheely Bad, I can appreciate the frustration you must feel when your life is dictated by pain, but you take it on the chin....with the help of Billy of course :-)
Hugs to Pat, Sarah and family, hope you are enjoying your holidayxxx
Elaine, sending healing hugs to Andrew and Darren, it must be a relief to have them back homexx
Tina, thinking of you and Mickxxxx
Tracy, hoping your Dad gets home soon, it must be so frustrating for him being stuck in hospital, he'll be yearning his own bed. Keep strong if you can sweetiexxx
Cuddles to all my blog buddies and good luck with the drawxxx

    Crafty hugs,
