Just Because

Hi there my crafty friends!  Today's card features the Wellington die.  I used just the decorative outer section of the die and cut it in a piece of coconut white card.  I used the inside cutting edge with it to create an aperture in the centre of the card.  I added mounting foam to the back of this piece to raise it for dimension.  Next I selected a piece of blue dusk card and cut the next decorative die in that set out of it.  I centred the white top piece over it and trimmed the edges to create a thin blue mat.  I added a bit more foam to this piece then added it over another white piece to show in the centre.  I stamped a sentiment then cut it out with the tag from the Lauren die set and added it across the centre opening area.  I added a wider white mat to the piece ad ran double sided tape all the way around the edge and sprinkled Iced Snow on it for a bit of bling!  The usual mats and layers were added to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  55. Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
Oh this is a gorgeous card Sue in that lovely shade of blue against the white. The snow glitter crystals around the edge to highlight the main feature of the card is just so lovely and adds that bit of texture and interest to your beautiful card. You'll know that i don't have any of these dies but hey ho i will look and see what other dies i do have that i can try this out on. Thank you Sue for todays piece of WOW inspiration as it is a bullseye for me.
Well hubby is off and wants to go looking for tiles for the bathroom today but i have the dentist and hygienst at 13:35 and 13:50 so it will need to be around that as it takes months at my dentist to get an appointment and these were made in January. Crikey, i can't remember the last time that we went looking for something actually together as he doesn't like going shopping at all and he doesn't like going with me because of my stick/s depending on whether it's a good day or bad and being honest i don't even bother asking him now to go as i can't be bothered with the crabbit attitude that he starts. So am i looking forward to today's outing? Like a hole in the head that's not needed.
Tracy flower, i am sending hugs down to you and your daddy flower just to let you know that i am thinking of you both and sending wee prayer up.

  91. Hi Sue,
What a pretty card...I think I'll have to add Wellington to my wish list :).
Goodness, what a day yesterday was. I was up bright and early to get the nets and curtains down ready for the council to renew the windows. What a lovely bunch of lads they were as well. My front room has a HUGE window with the door right next to it so when they took the old ones out, I was left with a little wall about 18" high and then this big hole. They threatened to leave it like that and come back tomorrow, so I told them to take the dog with them for the night lol. They laughed when I said I wasn't worried about the big gap in my home. Anyway, they began around 8:45 after having arrived just after 7:30 and unloading the truck. They were washing the new windows by 3:00 and they worked very cleanly. They had to take my front gate off so of course the dog decided it was her lucky day and vanished around 5 times altogether. It got too hot after lynch though so she came home for the last time and flaked out on the sofa. They've even given me a cat flap in the kitchen door...now all I need to do is teach my fluff ball to use it. It's propped open right now and he'll come in and out but I've not tried it shut yet...what fun that's going to be...NOT!!
It's a lovely day again today down here although the sky is full of light cloud. It's still nice and bright...and too hot for me. I do hope it lasts though as my sis is coming to visit next week and since she left Newquay, the weather where she moved to in Lincolnshire has been less than warm, so it would be nice for her to see the sun again (and I can tell her she shouldn't have moved to the other side of the country lol).
Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Love and hugs for all who need a bit of a boost.

  97. Hi Sue, very pretty in blue and white and I do like it when you recess dies (or make it look that way by raising the top ones) as the dimensional look is lovely.

Tracy - hope your dad's surgery went well and he is able to start eating properly again.

'P' & Laine - Prescott, I like it lol. Apparently Jay was popping home occasionally so the other mum was not too worried as she thought he was just 'out on the tiles'! We already have a 'half cat' who share his time between us and some people who live over the back so I suppose another 'half cat' means we would have a whole one :D
