Gilded Step Frame

Hello crafters!  As you know, I love my gilding flakes!  They just add so much elegance to any card.  Today's video shows you how to make a multi layer frame and incorporate the gilded look into your frame.  I hope you like it!

Just a quick note, the 2016 Christmas Festive die launch begins here bright and early at 6am tomorrow morning.  I hope you will be able to joins us for the reveal and get in on the fun to win one of the dies too!

The finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Hugs to poorly friends - Norah and Maria especially.
Wheely, concert sounds a blast! Glad you had a good time - recovery now.
Angela - so so sorry - don't blame yourself, kidney failure so tricky with pets. Been there too many times, but you can only trust your instincts and go with the vet's expert advice. Sooty will always be with you in your heart.

Angela W - so sorry for you but you did your best for Sooty by loving her to the very end. Please don't beat yourself up about what if's, as 'P' said kidney failure is tricky and can strike out of the blue and at any age. What a beautiful way to remember her by planting a little tree.

What a great card today, I do love gilding flakes. Thank you for the tip about the glues and dies not mixing, I like the thin boarders but know I would get in a mess, I wonder if you can make a stencil frame to put the glue through ( or just use double sided tape). One to play with I think. Thank you for sharing, I'm looking forward to seeing you the festive dies tomorrow

  106. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a gorgeously ornate concoction, a real treat for the eyes. The combination of the gilding flakes, black and coconut white card is so striking and ensures that minimal adornments are required. The noble frames are definitely an essential part of our crafting arsenal and achieve such professionally looking frames. I haven't had a chance to watch your fantastic demo yet, I'm saving it as a treat for later when the tv is inundated with referendum coverage. Can I just say that I adored yesterday's card but felt that it would be wrong of me to comment on the weekly giveaway when I've not been commenting regularly this past week or so. Good luck in the draw ladies:-)
I've been unable to comment much lately because I am being plagued by seizures at the moment and computer screens become a problem as a result. I've tried to catch up as best I can but apologies if I fail to acknowledge something significant.
I didn't expect it to be basically warm and sunnyish today so I was pleasantly surprised...it was rather fortunate because the gardeners arrived to completely gut our garden of the plants and rubbish left by the previous tenent....Darcey will be miffed because she loved to lie and hide in the long foliage and bushes:-(
We popped round to a friends house for drinks and carrot cake this afternoon and upon our return my mum couldn't find the house keys. Just as she was about to have a meltdown, our neighbour arrived keys in hand telling us that we had left them in the door!??!! What a lucky escape, anything could have happened......
Really looking forward to tomorrow and the beginning of the Blogathon, I've cheated and already peeked at the collection but nothing beats seeing Sues own interpretation of the dies, it brings them to life as only she can.
Angela, I'm so sorry for your loss, it's heartbreaking to lose our babies regardless of the circumstances. You did your absolute best for Sooty but it was kind to end her suffering when you did, please don't feel guilty you did the right thing for her....often we can cling on to those we love despite their discomfort when in reality it is time to let go for their sake. The loss is palpable and stays with you for a long time...I've just had the anniversary of my Gizmos passing under similar circumstances and you never stop missing them regardless of the passage of time. Sending you comforting hugsxxxx
Pat, how awful for you and poor Sarah having her operation cancelled again at the last minute...I've had the same thing happen to me when I was prepped for a shunt procedure only for the consultants to change their minds.....it is so frustrating:-( I do hope that the MRI helps shed some light on the situation and that the operation can be rescheduled successfully. Thinking of you allxxx
Tina, congrats on your imminent arrivals, how exciting for you and Mick, things are really starting to look up for you, you deserve some good fortunexxx
Tracy, hope both yo and Dad are okay, you are worryingly quiet of latexx
Wheely bad, glad you managed to cope with and enjoy your concert, now all you need to do is rest and recuperate....with the help of Billy:-)
Yvonne, hope you're feeling a bit more recovered after your recent exploits and can join us for the new launch over the coming daysxx
Sending my usual hugs to Beth, P, Pam, Rebecca, Maria, Theresa, Linda, Lorraine, Jan, Frances and all my blog buddiesxxx

  121. Beautiful design, fabulous gilding flakes. As always the black is not for me, so I'm seeing dark brown or navy. Must treat myself to something from the New Zealand collection soon as I haven't got any of those dies yet.
